**OUR MOST ASKED QUESTIONS ANSWERED**
Q: Does Steven ever not like anything? 😂
A: Of course!! First of all, we have been married for 19 years and I was not always good in the kitchen. In fact, I was a pretty terrible cook for the first 12 years or so. So there were plenty of times when neither of us liked what I made. But I've gotten better at picking out meals that I'm pretty sure we will enjoy. I don't just go pick a recipe and cook it. I read through it and research different variations before I deem it a good one to try.
Secondly, if we were to not like something I would NOT show it here. Solely because I want to share only recipes that we would recommend. I don't want to waste your time, or my time (editing) on a recipe we would never tell anyone else to try. We've only had that happen once - and I got rid of the footage we had filmed (which was so sad because we took time to film it).
I hope that answers that question! Remember also that we only film 3 meals a week. The rest of the time we have our family favs or go out to dinner.
Q: Where did you get your chopping block/ cutting board?
A: Our friends gave it to us as a Christmas gift. :) They had a friend who made them, so it's not something that I can link to as it was handmade.
Q: What knife do you use?
A: It's a Pampered Chef knife that I've had for over 10 years. It's still hanging on!! :)
Q: You made a (insert recipe name here) one time, how do I find that video again?
A: Type in the UA-cam search bar - "Mandy in the Making (recipe name)" and it should bring up the video where I made it. Click the video and then check that video's description box for the recipe. I tag all of my videos with the name of the recipes included so they are easily found. Hope this helps!

Can we just take a minute to appreciate the time she puts in to making these videos? The editing and food shots are amazing! I love watching because the quality of your videos is that of something I would see on cable tv👍🏻❤️
Totally agree, plus some humour AND our very own food critic as well 😊 👍
Kristen, this comment just MADE MY DAY. Thank you. I spend hours and hours on each one. I want every one of them to be better than the last. :)
I agree!
Kristen Tahamarzouk I was just thinking the same thing.
Ditto!
Love how you respect that your son doesn’t want to be on camera and don’t force him or “accidentally” film him like some other parents do. All these meals made me so hungry!
Thanks!! Yes, if he will agree to be on camera again, I'd be so happy...but until then I'm totally respecting his wishes. :)
Georgina H I totally agree and she is an awesome Mom! And the recipes and videos I just love so much!!👍
+
I do not say this lightly...
This. Video. Is. The Most. Realistic. Honest. Representation of family dinners I have EVER seen on UA-cam! This is the channel I've been searching for my entire life!! And I watch recipe videos constantly.
*Goes to binge watch every video she's ever made*
I’m addicted to these videos of yours!! It really has helped motivate me to not only try new recipes but enjoy cooking again! Thank you!!!
I couldn't agree more, me too !
Yay 🙌! So glad you are benefiting from the videos! Really appreciate your support! 🥰
Me too, I have about 8 meals I want to try from your videos, that are suited to freezing leftovers (since it is one person - me - at home). Thank you for your high quality program, recipes, openness to doing subby recipes and having your darling hubby on as critic, too! And we cannot forget the elusive Cole 🤣
I love how you're husband loved that meatloaf so much he was 1/2 done while u were still filming him lol Must have been yummy!
lol 😂 Yep he was about finished eating! That's Steven for you! 😁
I love that you honor Cole's wishes to not be on camera. Good mama points.
Thank you :)
I was thinking the same!
I was going to comment the same thing!
Whoever films and edits your videos is doing a great job. I feel like I’m watching a tv cooking show.
Aw, thanks! My hubby films and I edit! We make a great team!
You can never make corn any other way! Changed my life! I can't take it!! 😂😂😂
I'm scared to make it! My family will say the same! 😋
So glad you took your ring off when u did the meatloaf! One of my pet peeves! 😀
😂😂 Life-changing corn! lol Thanks for watching, Jennifer! 😘😘
Steven's religious experience with the corn was priceless!!!! And Gracie with her chicken. This is my all-time fave Mandy video.
So glad you left that droopy glove scene in! I got so tickled when I saw it and then, when I heard your laugh! Loved it.
😂😂 Gotta have a little fun! Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching! 😘
Those gloves are terrible for mixing meatloaf! Mine did the same thing the other day!
Thats so me all the way. But it dosnt bother me to mix meatloaf without gloves .been doing it all my life ,or to touch chicken or Turkey either. Just wash ure hands good. Before and after and yull be fine .
You got a great family. Love that your husband and son compliment your cooking. Those are massive chicken quarters.
I seriously LOVE Stevens reactions! Such a sweet man. Love your what’s for dinners, Mandy!!
Thank you!!! :)
I love that you're putting the bloopers in now! I swear they're making those bags child proof now but instead it's making them ADULT proof! LOL
RIGHT? I was so shocked. I gave it my best effort. LOL
Oh wow..... I have never thought of making meatloaf on a broiler pan!!! What a fabulous idea.... all the grease will run to the bottom! I will be trying this!!!
I dont comment much, but I must say that you and your family are so special and make me smile. I even look forward to the thumbs up your son gives. I understand not wanting to show his face on youtube. Bless you all. Hugs and smiles across the miles
Thank you, sweetie! Thank you for watching and have a great weekend! 😘
I just discovered this channel and just love how supportive her husband is and how much she respects her son’s wishes not to be on camera.
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who can’t open bagged salad with my hands!
LOL!! It was impossible!!!!
I thought it was just me getting older and weaker!
Love how excited your husband is over the corn!🤣💕
Right?!?! lol
Her husband is smart
She cooks 4 him n he gives the best positive feedback so he'll always get something else. 😆 she's a good family cook
This meatloaf is the ONLY way to go! Bacon always makes everything so much better!! Thanks so much for all you are teaching us!
Your husband is adorable! Love these videos👏🏻❤️
Thank you!
I love how your family loves to eat. I love cooking for people who love and truly enjoy food.
Yay for Gracie! She finally got a bite 🥰🥰 as always I love Stephens (sp.) reactions! It all looked great
LOL, she was so happy!!
Love these videos, such high quality and you can feel the love in your home for sure ❤️
Thank you so much!
Thank you for literally teaching me how to cook. My food has always tasted delicious but you’re definitely helping me branch out. Thanks for existing.
Aw i love this comment.
Such a sweet comment, Cat. Thank YOU for your support, sweetie! 😘
My grandmother used to use bread with evaporated milk it made the meatloaf very rich. The Pioneer Woman is a creation just like boy bands used to be.
when spaghetti sauce in a jar came out i found one and thought "good as home made" and started using that every time. one day i just felt like going the long way and making my old sauce again. oh wow!!! its a real treat.
Mandy this made me smile........your husband is the bomb critic!
Thank you!
I have a 14 yr old daughter so I totally get it!🤣. He’s so funny and charismatic when he is on camera! You have a great family and I love your recipes! I made that cheesy taco soup last night!
Your husband is hilarious (and his expressive eyebrows just tickle me), you are an excellent instructor, and your son’s thumbs up from the side make me way too happy. Is there no end to the amazingness of your rockin’ family. Thanks for sharing your recipes and your family!!!!!
Aw, Julia, you are so sweet. Thank you!
You're the best! I love your channel. My husband and I look forward to your what's for dinners all week! Please never take away the bloopers. They make you adorable! ❤
Thank you Misty! I just want y'all to see that I have a seriously goofy side to me. LOL
I guess I’m gonna have to make that corn now! 😂 everything so yummy, as usual. Your family is tooooo precious!
Girl, Steven is STILL talking about it!
This Southern gal had never heard of Bacon Fried Corn until I found this video. So I just had to make it. I got 1 serving out of the whole thing because I dropped the Corning Wear dish onto the floor. And, if you didn't know it, I can guarantee you that it shattered into 1000 pieces. Ingredients are already on my next shopping list (sans a Corning Wear dish).! Thanks Mandy for this "change your life" recipe.
I love your channel! So relaxing to watch and I love your husband's reactions. God Bless!
Thank you so much!
Hi Mandy and family, Another home run. I just love what you cook. Mandy your so relaxing to watch! You take your time in every meal you prepare. Love y'all. Happy cooking. ,🍝🥓🥗
Thanks so much!
if you want your pasta to be even more delicious, cook the pasta almost to al dente, heat the sauce up in a pot, and ADD the pasta to the sauce pot. let it mingle for a minute or two, serve!
THAT meatloaf!! My husband would love it haha Bacon wrapped anything is always a win 🤤👌😋😋
YES!!!
tip, to get great and smooth smashed potatoes, ditch the masher, and use your hand mixer. makes them smooth and fluffy!
It was so funny when you couldn't get the salad bag opened, so glad you didn't edit that out! Everything looks delicious, as always.
That bag was legit sealed up tight! lol 😂 thanks for watching! 😘
Oh my, the corn!!! Must try!
It's seriously so good!
My mom always made fried corn this way. It was a definite crowd pleaser!
You can use the dough hooks on your electric mixer to combine the meatlof ingredients without over-working the meat.
I’m excited to try the baked chicken and corn. I’ll have to let you know my husband’s reaction to the corn. Steve’s reaction was priceless! All of these recipes looked amazing. Waiting patiently for someone to invent smell-a-vision. TFS!! Have a wonderful day💕
I just showed my husband the corn...he said are you making that tonight?🤣😂 I def am!
Smell-a-vision needs to be invented for sure! 😂
So just a little tip on your spaghetti is put some olive oil on it and toss, it just keeps it from drying out and clumping up, all the recipes on here look absolutely yummy 😋
I really enjoy you showing your husband’s responses. Really enjoying the videos too!
Thank you!
That meatloaf looks amazing!! I'm obsessed with meatloaf and corn! Looks great
I made the fried corn with bacon for Thanksgiving dinner. Delicious!. Thank you so much for your videos. Hope you and yours have had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Great meals. Thanks to Lois for sharing her Mom's spaghetti sauce recipe. Stay safe
Your videos always make me so hungry ! 10:00 A.M. and I’m over here wanting meatloaf and mashed potatoes with fried corn, lol ! Thanks so much for the awesome videos !
LOL!! Sorry about that!
I just loved the sweet stories behind recipes. I just love them. You have such a sweet family, thank you. for all your videos,
I’m new from Jennifer’s A Country Life and can I just say I adore your husband’s reaction to your cooking! I would cook for him any day!!
Welcome!! Glad to have you!
My husband LIVES meatloaf and my daughter & I really don’t care for it. I think we ALL will love one!
Blouse ur wearing in 3rd recipe looks lovely on you- you are so pretty.
Just a little tip. When you chop an onion by hand (not with your fancy chopper), if you leave the root end on then it holds the end together nicely, and you can just chop up to it and it stays together better and doesn't fall all over. Love your videos!
Hi Mandy. Just love you and your family. Your dad is also absolutely awesome. Thank you for sharing every thing you do. Much love. K.
Your husband appreciates your hard work
Yay!! I look forward to your cooking video's! I learn sooooo much and I'm 60!
Awww I love that!! Thanks for watching!
Definitely going to have to try all of these! That chicken rub looked so good.
I’ve got to try that fried corn & bacon! Here’s a tip for you Mandy, after draining your spaghetti, I put either butter or olive oil, salt & pepper & parsley in the pot & stir to coat. It’s another layer of flavor plus it keeps the noodles from sticking together, making it easier to serve.
I watched this when it first went up. I was scrolling looking for something to watch and clicked on this. I saw I had watched it before but kept watching. I loved it. I especially loved Stevens reaction to the corn. I got so tickled I remember watching it the first time too. I have not made the corn but I will tomorrow. I have some chicken I need to fix so it winner winner chicken dinner at my house tomorrow.
Ive never been a cat person but I love Gracie and I love her name. She is so sweet 😚. I remember the video where she was crying when you were taking her to the Dr. That was so sad, sweet and funny all at the same time!😘 Love seeing Gracie, so precious.
Love your Hubs reaction to the corn! Great video, Mandy!🧡
Delicious "grub" Happy "Hub"!. Cook for you fellas woman! Yum Mandy!! Can't wait to see what else you put out there today.
Thanks for watching, Angela! Have a great weekend, sweetie! 😘
I think Steven likes the corn. He has me rolling
Potatoes should start out in a pan of cold water and this is then, and only then, heated to boiling. This way the outside cooks at the same rate and at the same temperature as the insides. You get a potato that isn't mushy (overcooked) on the outside and crunchy (under cooked) on the inside. Try it!
Thanks!
I love this woman’s videos!!!! And I love that she has so many!!!! I’ve been watching them for days!!!!! This woman needs her own show on tv!! All your videos are in such amazing quality and so well edited it’s like watching a cooking show on tv!! I think you need one on actual tv tho!! You have an amazing talent! I love the concept of the subbie supper!!! You have a beautiful family!!! You are very blessed and I hope you know how lucky and blessed you are!!!! Thank your for your videos and all your hard work you put into them!! Have a blessed day!! 💛💛
I’m just now seeing this video. The sauce at the end looks so good! I’ve never made “gravy” from scratch either. The other recipes looked yummy as well! And the Caesar salad looked so fresh and good, I was amazed. Thank you, Mandy. ❤

Everything looked great! I’m a vegetarian now so trying to come up with dinner ideas for my husband every night is a challenge. Thank you so much for all your hard work. I have a really good spaghetti recipe I may have to send you I just don’t have exact measurements.
