Thanks for using my recipe! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I received it from a dear older friend of mine who passed away a few years ago. I was so surprised when I heard you start subbie supper. I love watching you guys. I shared it with my husband and he said wait we have to see if Steven likes it. 😄
as for my bacon grease, I store mine in the refrigerator. Yes, I agree that herb (urb) is a spice and Herb is a man’s name! Love ya’ll, such a cute couple!
I say "erb" instead of "herb" because my Dad's name was Herb. We lost him almost 3 years ago and I miss him everyday. He would have enjoyed a seat at your table any day Mandy. He was not like Steve, in that he wasn't much help in the kitchen. Except once, when Mom and I came home from Church Circle and Dad was so proud that he had decided to unload the dishwasher. The only problem was, the dishes had been pre-rinsed but the dishwasher had not been run with soap and water! After dinner we ladies had to wash every dish because we weren't sure which were actually clean. I hadn't thought of that for a long time. Thanks for that.
“Herb”, with a pronounced H, is typically the British English pronunciation. The way we pronounce here in America is without the H, like “hour” and “honor”. You said it correctly! 😸
It's definitely "erb" not "herb" idk who or why anyone would say it any diff tbh lol but it doesn't bother me bc I'm in N.C she's in S.C. and it's just a southern Thang.....
Just wanted to say Thank you for your videos. I am a widow and my husband did most of the cooking so when he passed away I needed to learn to cook. I have been watching your videos for over a year and you have inspired me to learn to cook. Thanks again. Ps i watch you from Canada 🇨🇦🇨🇦
Side tip when you do the fish or anything that might have left over breading mix the left over eggs and seasoned flour together and drop spoonfuls of it in already heated oil it makes like a hush puppy bites my kids love them
I just loved his reaction when he found out there was cream cheese in the mashed potatoes. So funny. I don't think he hates it as much as he thinks he does. 😄 I just love Gracie so much she so is so beautiful. What a face and loving eyes. She's so lucky to have you all.
I so enjoy the relationship ya'll have. Steven makes a comment about a certain thing he wants to eat, you find a recipe and make it then she shows appreciation. It's all about listening to your partner and finding a way to validate and appreciate each others love languages.
Pro tip. When cooking fried food, in order to keep it crispy, place the food on a cookie cooling rack and allow the grease to drip onto a paper towel lined tray below. :)
I was born in Kansas and lived there most of my life. And then spent at least 20 years in Colorado. Always known it as "Erb" spelled herb. H is silent. Great video and so much fun. You two are such a treasure. 😊😊🤗🤗 God bless all here.
Im 67 and can only remember it being called "erb". I absolutely love you two! You brighten my day and make me cackle like a fried chicken! I look forward to all of your videos. PLEASE yall keep em coming!
I'm actually Rich's wife, Joni. I just LOVE you two, but have to share how Rich fries fish ... Egg & beer for dredge, Flour & Potato FLAKES w/Salt & Pepper. Fry in deep fryer until browned and ready. We do this in the spring w/Crappie or Walleye from our lake and morel mushrooms and potatoes too! We are both Retired Real Estate Brokers. We had an office and did Fish Fry for our agents every year and had lots of success w/our town!! Good luck, will be anxious to hear Steven's response!! Wee also started the fish soaking in beer.
Pamper chef has a product that make it is easy to cut the chicken in half and comes with a knife. No we don't have stink bugs. I been wanting to make your green bean but I am the only one loves green bean.
So the messed up pieces goes to Gracie??😂😂😂 great recipes, as always. This is definitely my favorite cooking channel. For keeping my cat away from the fancier Christmas ornaments, I put inexpensive ones on the lower branches and the good ones higher. Then they don't get in trouble for playing with the ornaments. The lemon oil spray works well to keep the meow monsters away from where you don't want them.
My mother grew up in the Kickapoo Valley of Wisconsin. She is one of 9 children, and had 6 brothers and your husband reminds me soooo much of her brothers, both in looks and personality. This is like watching family in the kitchen !! It's funny that when you get into some parts of Wisconsin it is a lot like going down South - Grits is on the menu ! We were raised with ham hocks&bean soup, boiled dinners, and plenty of fried fish ! I'm thinking that subby super would be good with any kind of meat, I have some pork in the deep freeze that needs to be cooked, and I love a good crock pot meal !!/:P Thank you for all your content. It is very food for the soul inspiring !
For the mashed potatoes, put a little bit of mayonnaise in there. Me and my husband would put butter, milk, salt to taste and then like a spoonful of mayonnaise. It really does taste good, big difference.
Mandy, the Creamy Herb Chicken in this video looked SO good, I knew we had to make it. So we did, today for dinner! OMG it was really delicious! We had it with mashed potatoes & we put some of the sauce on them & had a side salad. It was such a great dinner, we will be making it again! Thanks!!
Great to see you two working together in the kitchen. I have an issue with you two, first your reactions to each other puts s smile on my face, 🤭 and listening to Steven describe the dishes you serve makes my saliva glands go into overdrive. Thanks for sharing..
My dad is that way too, he likes everything swimming in juice or gravy. I've made that Italian roast for a party, served as little sandwiches with some warmed 1/2 size hoagie rolls I got from the bakery. It was a hit.
Lol you two are so sweet and precious and make me smile and laugh, thank you so much for sharing this and God bless you and your family always and forever 👍😍🙏🙏🙏 Hello miss Gracie Lou 😻🐈🐕🧀🧀❣️
OH MY GOODNESS that fish looks wonderful! Thank you Mandy and Steven ❤ TEXAS LOVES YOU Praying that you are better soon and that no one else catches it.
Hello! I made the Herb Chicken. It was beyond delicious!! I added garlic and served it over steamed broccoli. The sauce on the broccoli was excellent. Adding pasta would take it to the next level. If I wasn’t limiting my carbs I would have included pasta.
Okay...I made the Creamy Herb Chicken and it was amazing. My husband said, "what is the word for Better than Good?" I also made mashed potatoes and of course the green beans with bacon grease. This recipe is a keeper and good enough for when we have company. We live in Easley and enjoy your channel. Merry Christmas from another Clemson Tiger Fan.
I grew up using bacon grease. I leave mine sitting on stove. I have never refrigerated it. Yes, we had a stink bug problem back a couple months ago. Also multitudes of Lady bugs. I just put all of them back outside. We are in Missouri. Love your recipes 😋
My mother is English. Your tartar sauce recipe is spot on. My mother always used good mayonnaise, dill relish, dill weed, I use the dried("herb"not "erb")in a jar and finely chopped onion in her tartar sauce. I love fried cod or haddock fish.
Where will we be without seeds Mandy! ? Lol great dinner. I'm known as the seed lady. Keep up the good work. Oh yeah, it's a bad yr for stink bugs. Spray the perimeter outside your home with the same lemon spray for keeping Kitty on the ground. Merry Christmas to all y'all!
I work Breakfast shift.. We cook out bacon fresh each day/ over 240 pieces.. so I have a perk I get to keep the bacon grease and I render and put up for home. It is perfect to use this way. Save money and get FLAVOR..
My son gave me this sauce recipe for fish tacos. I use it for all my breaded fish. : 1/2C plain Greek yogurt or sour cream 1/2C mayonnaise 1 minced jalapeño (I use Jalapeño Paste in a tube) 1/2 tsp each: oregano, cumin & dill 1 tsp cayenne or to taste (I use less when I make it for myself only. ) Can use immediately or refrigerate for the full flavor. This is very good . I hope you'll try it. I love the relationship between you and your husband.
I love when you and Steven cook together in the kitchen. The banter back and forth makes me laugh. I love my my husband cooks in the kitchen with me Love your channel. I’ve found so many new family favorites because of you. Thank you :)
A tip from my fav fish monger: dredge the fish in flour FIRST, shake it off. Next dip it in the egg, then dredge in your final coating. The first dredge in flour creates a glue for the egg to stick to the fish (chicken etc.) so as not to slide off during the cooking process. It also creates a crisper, crunchier coating.
I see some crocheted you a handle cover 4 your fry pan---I knit n crochet so i know it was crocheted----it is cold n flu season n i'm so happy Gracie Lou got some fish i love seeing her so much n i thought it was so cute when u picked her up she had her paw around your neck
I just love watching your videos you and Steven make me laugh! Thankfully we don’t have many stink bugs in Connecticut! Thanks for keeping it REAL! Love you guys
Oh my that creamy chicken dish, yes please, and you're right I think I have everything I need to make it so it'll sure be good for tomorrows Sunday Supper. Everything looked great, hope you're feeling well soon and thank you for sharing this with us.
Omg, when you said "It's shake'n bake and I helped" I bout wet my pants laughing! Cuz I'm 57 and remember those Very Old commercials... and a coworker and I have been using that coined commercial phrase at work in our laboratory when helping each other! Too funny- thank you for repeating that memory!
Great recipes once again, thanks for sharing again Mandy, good to see how much Steven enjoys all of your delicious food. Gracie Lou is always so cute too. Stay safe and happy, sending love and hugs. bye!! 😻💞💚💜
Yes, I live in Georgia and as far as I know the "H" is silent. Love your recipes and both Steven's and your reaction when it is really good is priceless!
Glad to see that you have a jar of bacon grease in your frig too. My MaMa Told me that every good cook keeps bacon grease in her frig.. and MaMa was so right!!
Try cooking onions in your green beans and right before they are done throw in a handful of dried cranberries. It adds an awesome flavor to them. Love your show. Yes ma'am always grease in my fridge. Sorry just ran up on this episode tonight.
Mandy...made your Creamy Herb Chicken tonight, Husband loved it and so did I! Thank you for all the delicious recipes you make. Hey there Steven...don't want yyou to feel left out. 😀
Mandy here is a good tip. I always buy a container of instant dry milk, that way I always have milk for recipes. I don’t drink regular milk as I have Lactose Intolerance, but I did use Almond/Vanilla milk on cereal,
I wished I could add a picture of my cat laying in the Christmas tree looking down at my Yorkie like she was a peasant….love all your videos, you and your hubby are just cute!
Tis the season to be sneezin'. Get well soon. Thanks for the great recipes and fun. I think the first one is crying out to be served on egg noodles for me.
Love y'all!!! I'm from the south and I say herb with a silent "h" for the plant and Herb with the "h" sound at the beginning when it's a name. By the way, I love that you sometimes use Publix products. I'm from the town their headquarters are in in Florida.
Hello my Beautiful friend. I love the Warby Parkers! I have an easy Subby Supper for you. My family loves this soup and it takes less than 30 minutes. 2 cups leftover chicken, chopped bite sized 1 Carton of chicken broth (4 cup size) 1 package chopped mirepoix (onion, carrot, celery. Comes out to 1 onion, 4 stalks celery, 3 carrots) 1 tsp. Garlic powder. 1 package frozen Asian dumplings (potstickers) Heat a little EVOO in a soup pot. Sauté the veggies and garlic powder until they begin to soften. Add a little salt & pepper. Add in the chicken. Give it a good stir. Add the broth and bring to a simmer. Add the frozen dumplings. Simmer 10 minutes. Serve. My grandson calls this Grandma “J’s” chicken noodle soup. Simple comfort food. I appreciate you and all you do. Your videos have saved me so many times and your energy makes me smile. Blessings to you and your family. From one busy mom to another. Love from California.
I haven’t had bacon grade my fridge in about 50 years but it is WONDERFUL!!! Fry an egg in it and you’ll think you’d died and gone to Heaven!!! By the way, I’m originally from Michigan, I say “ERB” for herb.
Ya'll are a trip. I love watching your videos & when the 2 of you are in the kitchen just try to keep a straight face. Mandy, make you a hot toddy with honey & I hope you feel better by morning. By the way, I have arthritis in my hands which makes it more difficult in this cold weather, but I take a tablespoon of raw honey straight from the local bee keeper, that store bought stuff doesn't cut it. I've been taking it for years & I have more mobility, & it tastes way better than store bought. 🙋♀️💜🙏🙏🙏
Bacon grease is good in almost anything. I use it in my rice dishes. We had stink bugs for years, now we have lantern flies. They are destroying the trees in the northeast. They get on everything. Like seeing Gracie Lou
In France the H in herb is silent and in England, it is pronounced. Your choice in the USA! Also, that chicken is also good baked with no need to brown the chicken first. Just put it in the oven and walk away for half an hour or so. Then add the lemon at the very end. Love the sauce.
Stink bugs... you first try to keep them outside.... as much as possible. For the stink bugs, they bombard our tomatoes which is frustrating when we grow them. So there's a spray of 1 part(cap full) NEEM oil, a dash of dishwater soap and then 2-3 cups of water. It makes a spray that we spray on the tomatoes to try to save them. But, if it rains you have to respray. You should also use this on window seals, door seals right before a season change. Especially from warm to cold weather. Anything to try to keep them away. I've heard if you don't try to get rid of them, they can multiply pretty fast.
I love you guys!! You make me laugh!! You holding Gracie Lou is the cutest thing ever! I wish my Korra Jean would let me hold her like that.........jealous!
Thanks for using my recipe! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I received it from a dear older friend of mine who passed away a few years ago. I was so surprised when I heard you start subbie supper. I love watching you guys. I shared it with my husband and he said wait we have to see if Steven likes it. 😄
It was so tasty! We really appreciate you sharing it with us. And now it's even more special to know the story behind it!
I wanna bite too!
This looks delicious! I'm making it this week. Thanks for the recipe.
as for my bacon grease, I store mine in the refrigerator. Yes, I agree that herb (urb) is a spice and Herb is a man’s name! Love ya’ll, such a cute couple!
In my humble opinion herb is a spice and Herb is a person.
Lol
Sorry, wrong - see my comment. x
And IMHO, you are CORRECT!
Nailed it. Thats correct
LOL 😂

What? Isn't "hour" without pronouncing the "H" "OUR"?
@@donnabeach1250 yes, and that's how "hour" is pronounced. like "our".
Came to say the same about English , UK, I now say Herb with the H mostly cause I never knew why the H was silent in the 1st place .
I thought the same thing, if they’re pronouncing herb with the H, they’re probably from across the pond! :)
@@donnabeach1250 That’s what she said.
Herb Albert and the Tijuana Brass is a musical group and the H is not silent. When referring to cooking the herbs added the H is silent.
Depending on what part of the world you're in
@@M.E2429 Exactly 👍

Shoutout to Mandy for getting Gracie Lou out of harm’s way of that stink bug ❤
Hehe!
Yep
My son gave me this sauce recipe for fish tacos. I use it for all my breaded fish. :
1/2C plain Greek yogurt or sour cream
1/2C mayonnaise
1 minced jalapeño (I use Jalapeño Paste in a tube)
1/2 tsp each: oregano, cumin & dill
1 tsp cayenne or to taste (I use less when I make it for myself only. )
Can use immediately or refrigerate for the full flavor. This is very good . I hope you'll try it.
I love the relationship between you and your husband.
I love when you and Steven cook together in the kitchen. The banter back and forth makes me laugh. I love my my husband cooks in the kitchen with me

Cuz I'm 57 and remember those Very Old commercials... and a coworker and I have been using that coined commercial phrase at work in our laboratory when helping each other! 🤘💖
Had the Italian pot roast for dinner, so good!!! Definitely a do-over!!! Thanks Mandy!
Yes, I live in Georgia and as far as I know the "H" is silent. Love your recipes and both Steven's and your reaction when it is really good is priceless!
Glad to see that you have a jar of bacon grease in your frig too. My MaMa
Told me that every good cook keeps bacon grease in her frig.. and MaMa was so right!!

Mandy...made your Creamy Herb Chicken tonight, Husband loved it and so did I! Thank you for all the delicious recipes you make. Hey there Steven...don't want yyou to feel left out. 😀

Those green beans look AMAZING!!! I'll have to start cooking more bacon before there's a shortage. 🥰
Mandy, that is like the batter I use when I fry fish and chicken. I also add a little bit of onion powder along with the other two spices
Delicious meals. I enjoyed you two , you make cooking fun. Gracie is the star of the show.
All of your recipes are spot on today and your "Helper" was fun to watch. Don't change a thing.,,, flavors were perfect
Tis the season to be sneezin'. Get well soon. Thanks for the great recipes and fun. I think the first one is crying out to be served on egg noodles for me.
All three dishes look wonderful! Thanks for sharing!
That creamy chicken would be scrumptious over egg noodles!!! Looks delicious 😋!
Always thought Herb was short for Herbert, and 🌿 herb in reference to an herb, the “h” is silent. Love your fur baby. We have a Phoebe Lou. ❤
Here in Utah, we say herb the way you do. I love your videos. I am so glad I found you on youtube. ❤
I would make some mashed potatoes next to that so as not to waste any of that lovely gravy.
Love your Hutch it's so cute
I hope you feel better soon Miss Mandy. You will be in my prayers.
Love y'all!!!
I'm from the south and I say herb with a silent "h" for the plant and Herb with the "h" sound at the beginning when it's a name.
By the way, I love that you sometimes use Publix products. I'm from the town their headquarters are in in Florida.
Mandy. I do fish frys with walleye and I use a batter of bisquick and seven up. It turns out really well. Try it!
Mandy and Stephen in the making! 😘
Hello my Beautiful friend. I love the Warby Parkers! I have an easy Subby Supper for you. My family loves this soup and it takes less than 30 minutes.

Gotta use Old Bay with fish.
My mom use to add dry white wine and bell peppers also to your beef supper along with tomatoes.
Up here in Michigan, I hear "erb". Love watching ya'all
Looks delicious!! I just love Gracie Lou. Oh and I agree with Renee, herb is prounounced "erb" and Herb is Herb Tarlick in WKRP .......
The chicken and the fish looked delicious. I'll bet the roast would be really good with chopped green peppers added.
Thank you for sharing Mandy and Steven have a blessed evening stay safe and healthy. Yummy 🙏❤🙏❤🙏
Tartar sauce...... mayo, sweet pickle relish, lemon pepper.
I love you guys!! You make me laugh!! You holding Gracie Lou is the cutest thing ever! I wish my Korra Jean would let me hold her like that.........jealous!
