I did 23 and Me a dna genetic testing I found out my blood line in Spanish blood panamian I'm do happy I found this out in my dna And I'm mostly Portuguese and Spanish and so much more mixture Combined with African American
I grew up with a Panamanian best friend. My cousin is a hairstylist, who is named after a king in the Bible, but a similar- sounding word was slang for women's genitals in Panamanian slang back in the day (like Baby Boomer aged folk). When my best friend mentioned to her parents that she wanted to see my cousin to get her hair done, her dad reacts in alarm & tells her never to say that word again, & explains why. She tells me this on the phone, so of course I ask my family about it. Ohhh, my (extremely Catholic) aunt (who also named my cousin when she was a baby) was LIVID! She pulled out that Bible so quick and stuck my nose in it to see the exact verse in the Book of Kings! 😂 The funniest part is that, despite me having updated my friend on what I'd just been taught via phone, she either never passed the info on to her father, or he never took her seriously, because he said to me, "you know, all these people make up these names without really knowing what it means." I didn't talk back (I knew better than that from my own household). At the next family gathering, I asked my friend's cousin if i could borrow his bible, found the verse, and quietly brought it to her father. He was speechless 😂😂😂 I'd share what he had the nerve to name his own kid, but that would be identifying (& hurtful) to my childhood friend. However, please understand that I have NEVER found anything to document the origin of it. EVER.
