Hi Serenity Sue, that is a beautiful Graveyard...it is a shame when people vandalize and leave trash in the cemetery. That is an ultimate show of disrespect.

@SerenitySueGraveyards Interesting that ivy was growing on the old marker on which ivy was carved in stonework. Ivy signifying eternal life in Jesus. It's like the ivy growing on that stone doubles the meaning. Like Smokey Robinson sings: I second that emotion! This gravestone ends up Ivy times 2.
Very interesting graveyard! They must have had problem for that sign to be posted. Interesting area. I agree and think that was a modern purse. Great find thanks Sue!

Hi, Sue thank you for this such a shame the graves are getting strangled by the ivy, I can't get why anyone would write on a gravestone! so disrespectful. I noticed the sky doesn't look too good. Thank you for another interesting video, love to you both 💜💜
Along with revealing the hidden vaults, clearing the brush would also clear out the majority of the hooligans. 🚬 Since the area would then be visible from the houses surrounding the cemetery and all could keep a watchful eye out. 👀 Looks like the purse was pushed through the vent on the back side and slid off the top of the coffin. 👛⚰ Would be interesting to see if it could be recovered by a reaching/grabbing tool of sorts, just to solve a little crime and have a cool story to tell. 🖐📖
Great find Sue! Interesting place. I think the purse is a more modern one. Perhaps thrown in there or left behind by a visitor to the mausoleum. Thanks for sharing!
Your my favorite couple, love to yer both! You give such good information and I like the respect you have and show. Since the purse is red plus it doesn't look as though it has any age to it so I think its from our ti.e and not old. Beautiful cemetery. You know, if those hedges and ivy was cut way back, it would discourage hooligans from getting from getting in there and causing trouble, because then people in the surrounding houses would have a great view of the cemetery and could keep an eye on it. That purse 👛 was a great find, it probably did get pushed in through the back window. I really hope, that the condition of the coffins inside the mausoleum is due to weather and natural deterioration, and not vandalism. Thank you very much Sue and GV for a most interesting video. I love seeing that done, as I try to keep those items in my car, gallons of water and buckets, scrapers and brushes. I really enjoy listening to you. You make it so interesting. I love history.
Hi Sue. Such a pretty cemetery to be vandalized. You mentioned the Maloney name and that was my mom’s maiden name. They are all gone but I remember mom, my grandmother and mom’s uncles recalling where their relatives were buried and entombed in Ireland. Oh how I wish I would know where my relatives were laid to rest. Despite that cemetery being very old and grown over with foliage, it is still a beautiful cemetery. This is quite neat little cemetery. The pathway is nice to get around on, the ivy alone helps to make it more private. As far as the purse, who ever was in the last coffin, someone may have put it in there as a memory. How else would it get clear over there? Always questions. Tc and stay safe, ty for the video.
Fantastic video. I love seeing the graves, Irish countryside and enjoy your accents. I looked at the purse more the dates of the burials. Zippers weren’t used commonly until the 1930s or 40s. And that zipper looks plastic. So, sadly I think our friend Grave Visitations is correct on why it’s there. So sad to see the vault in such a state.

I wouldn't have believed it until I saw with my own eyes, mugging someone is disgusting, then to shamefully use a mausoleum as a way to hide the evidence is just as bad.
I agree. That purse is too modern looking. It appears to have a nylon zipper. Even a metal zipper would have been too late for the time period. There could have been a robbery and the thief shoved it through the back window of the masoleum never to be seen again. I watch an Irish channel, A Drop in the Ocean, and it is about young girls and women that go missing and are never seen again and they are always wondering what happened to their belongings that have also disappeared. It is scarey to think that someone might be stashing stolen articles in cemeteries or masoleums. How low. 😢
My theory: Probably robbed the graves. Purse was buried with the person. Grave robber threw the wallet away after stealing contents. Great video. Love following you on all of your adventures. Take care!
I was just going to say right before I heard you say, it is a beautiful area.Who would see beauty in old worn out cripts buy you and me.😊 I guess they are several creamations for one grave on some burials

Yes I agree that purse looks to be modern, but the question remains where did it come from? How would someone get in there to leave it? I didn’t see anywhere as to where someone could have gotten in there to leave it or too have been thrown in there. Very interesting to say the least. Wonderful little cemetery with a mixture of old and new plots. And, it would be quite the sight to cut the ivy and bushes away from those mausoleums and check out what’s there. Ok God bless and see you guys on the next outing.
The purse looks to new. I bet someone stole it and threw it in that back window to get rid of the evidence. Another beautiful old cemetery and video by the two of you. Much love from the USA 🇺🇸
Great video I think that purse is to modern to be with those coffins the coffins are from the 1800's so Ithink someone has throw it through the window those stones on top of the coffin is from the roof plaster that has gotted damp and fell down like an old house once the roof gose bad the plaster gets wet and falls down

Wow cool place to visit, shame people disrespect them so. Is drug use, squatting, ect. a major problem in UK cemeteries? I follow a few channels that seem to show this often. We have our share of vandals here to be sure, though its usually broken stones. Anyway keep showing us these hidden gems. 👍
@@SerenitySueGraveyardsI am sure in our bigger cities that kind of thing happens. I live relatively rural in a cold climate so prob haven't been as exposed to it myself.
People are freaking disgusting. I might be a smoker but when you are done with your vape or cigarette, how hard is it to find a trash can or cigarette butt thing and do you really need to smoke in a cemetery?
I think the vault stone with the two rings had to be removed after the top stones were taken off. Then and only then could the door be reached. Great security on that vault. Too hard to get in to.
Definitely someone stole That purse and tried to hide it. Thinking this would be the last place anyone would think of looking. Some people have no respect for these cemeteries and the dead
zippers didnt exist till the early 1900s and where not widely used till 1940s or 1950s. that purse was not put in there with those at rest. it most likely was theft and toss.
No I would say that purse has been stolen and threw in there as its a perfect hiding place it is a beautiful grave yard. Sad that people don't respect it.
I think the purse was tossed in there through the window. I could be wrong, but zippers were invented in the 1890's I believe. I think it's unlikely that it belongs to the dead in that place.
It’s so odd to me that these mausoleums aren’t completely sealed, it makes sense for airflow but imagine visiting a loved one after a few weeks since burial…. It would stink! 🫢 I think it’s a stolen wallet, if it was there since burial it wouldn’t be as recognisable like that 🤷🏼♀️
I certainly wouldn't leave my vape. I quit the cigarettes easy enough with it but haven't let the vape go just yet. when I was young, I'd go to cemeteries or graveyards and get high with a friend or whatever, but we never left any trash or broke anything. if I made a mess somebody would notice and I couldn't go back, you know, to avoid getting busted by someone. I see things very much like when I was younger, and the dead don't care their worries are over. I honestly don't care if people smoke or get high in a place where people I know are, so long as they don't make a mess or be disrespectful to a graves.
I'm not sure why the surprise to see skulls and such in old mausoleums. I mean what exactly were you expecting to see? Lawn furniture? A set of encyclopedias? I for one would ne pretty surprised to peer in such and see a perfectly preserved old Norton or some such. A skull seems to be where it belongs.
As to the Carmody burial site...i have a naive question...how are so many people buried in such a limited space? It seems like such a small space...maybe it's bigger than it looks on the video
That purse is too modern to have been burried with the occupents. It's so sad that people can't have their final resting place undisturbed by vandals.
Thanks Sheila, I agree

I'm thinking younger kids like mammy doesn't know they vape, so they meet there and can't be bothered bring them to a bin
We were brought up to respect cemeteries,we would walk at the end where their feet are so we wouldn’t walk over the grave
Same, I was allowed to walk on the kerb but if my foot touched a grave I was in trouble
❤
Thanks Lisa ❤️
Looks like a modern zipper, vinyl, but you said velvet. I would say it's modern.
And who knows, someone could have swapped a murder victim in there. Crime unit? lol.
I think now looking in edit its more than likely like leather, yes and definitely modern, tossed in through the back
Oh lord 😳
Zippers on anything are modern.
I think the vault stone with the two rings had to be removed after the top stones were taken off. Then and only then could the door be reached. Great security on that vault. Too hard to get in to.
Yes, very true
I think some one threw it in the back window it looks to new with the zipper
Before that tree grew it was tossed through.
Definitely
Yes, it was definitely done before the tree as we couldn't even see passed it, so it's there awhile
Great place❤
Thanks Brenda
✨🏴✨🥀R.I.P.🥀✨💔✨🙏🏻✨.
Hi you guys! ❤
👋 👋
The ivy is a giant weed!😮
It is, Dad always told me that Ivy would bring down a house eventually
Lovely graveyard
Thanks Ann
How would they get the purse in there, with the tiny spaces. Just a thought. Great video.
In through the back window, probably before the tree grew up into it
We should send you a phone book to read to us all. Love the accent and the content.
🤣🤣 don't think everyone would like it but thank you ❤️
I believe the purse was put inside the tomb through an air vent. The vent is close to the purse if you notice.
Yes, I think that too now that I've seen the video in editing, that's the most likely way they put it in there
Definitely someone stole That purse and tried to hide it. Thinking this would be the last place anyone would think of looking. Some people have no respect for these cemeteries and the dead
Looks pretty new
zippers didnt exist till the early 1900s and where not widely used till 1940s or 1950s. that purse was not put in there with those at rest. it most likely was theft and toss.
I agree with you too
RIP all who have passed so long ago.
Thanks Heather ❤️
No I would say that purse has been stolen and threw in there as its a perfect hiding place it is a beautiful grave yard. Sad that people don't respect it.
Thank you ❤️
I think the purse was tossed in there through the window. I could be wrong, but zippers were invented in the 1890's I believe. I think it's unlikely that it belongs to the dead in that place.
You're right, during edit when I could see better it's definitely a modern purse, how sad it was definitely robbed
It’s so odd to me that these mausoleums aren’t completely sealed, it makes sense for airflow but imagine visiting a loved one after a few weeks since burial…. It would stink! 🫢
I think it’s a stolen wallet, if it was there since burial it wouldn’t be as recognisable like that 🤷🏼♀️
So true, never thought about if it would smell like that
The graves you see with multiple names on, how do they bury so many in one grave?
I certainly wouldn't leave my vape. I quit the cigarettes easy enough with it but haven't let the vape go just yet. when I was young, I'd go to cemeteries or graveyards and get high with a friend or whatever, but we never left any trash or broke anything. if I made a mess somebody would notice and I couldn't go back, you know, to avoid getting busted by someone. I see things very much like when I was younger, and the dead don't care their worries are over. I honestly don't care if people smoke or get high in a place where people I know are, so long as they don't make a mess or be disrespectful to a graves.
The skull on the right with the teeth: thos are dentures.
I saw the teeth, amazing they've lasted
I don't think that was Ivy I think that was a mulberry bush! Mulberries are yummers! 😋
We don't as far as I know have mulberry here, think it's Ivy but I could be wrong
I'm not surprised, in fact I find it a lot, the surprise was the purse
As to the Carmody burial site...i have a naive question...how are so many people buried in such a limited space? It seems like such a small space...maybe it's bigger than it looks on the video
No cement vaults, straight into the dirt, on top of each other and side by side
Ooohh! Wow! Thank you for letting me know ❤
I like the idea of us all being buried together, I thought everyone was buried as we are in Ireland, guess we are all learning
I definitely think that purse is too modern to be from 1800’s (or early 1900’s either. )
Yes me either
Such a shame people have to vandalise things
It is, people are horrible
