Good to watch an actual professional do a stage make up tutorial. Great products and amazing quality for someone who's new on UA-cam. And I loved the Vaseline tip ;)
Thanks for the video. Had to put stage makeup on my daughters for the first time yesterday. Following your video and some others made it really straightforward.
I do the Vaseline thing too. It's a life saver! great contouring guide, and I love that you show how to set your make up at every step. (My face sweats like crazy under stage lights 😓)
a cool primer to try if your face sweats like crazy is milk of magnesia, works every time for me! keeps my oily skin matte for all 4 acts & both shows!
I love this look and my recital is in a week so I may use this look! The only negative part was I wasn't a fan of the eyeliner under the eye but hey, we all have our own opinions
+Stephanie Watkinson thanks! I'm so glad you are enjoying the videos. I currently dance for English National Ballet in London. I'm American but I began my career with The Hamburg Ballet in Germany, and then moved to San Francisco Ballet for four years. This is my third year with English National Ballet. :) I am 25 years old. I'm planning on filming a little "about me" video soon with more info, so hopefully you'll enjoy that too!
+Mads' Pointe Wow, that's incredible!! I'd love to hear more about you, like training, and also company life and when you go on tour, etc. Thanks for your quick response :) Love from Tbilisi, Georgia
+littlepapillonrose I'm so glad you found it helpful! I would love to be able to do more vlog type videos as well. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to coordinate getting the appropriate permissions to film at work. I will be trying to put together a tour video that feels a little bit more like a vlog from our recent tour to Oman however. I currently dance for English National Ballet and I was with San Francisco Ballet and then Hamburg Ballet before that. :)
+Mads' Pointe wow that's incredible, I'd love to see some footage of you as I hope to one day dance in a company! You must be really good! I would love to see a vlog like that, it sounds awesome to me :) Thank you so much for responding xx
I have used either Makeup Forever foundation or Tarte's Amazonian Clay 12-hour full coverage foundation for many years now. I find it easier on my skin than other options. As long as it's applied well and set with a good setting powder (my new favorite setting powder is by Ben Nye but I used to use an inexpensive powder from walgreens as well) then I find it stays and covers very well!
Did you even compete in Denver ballet guild? I noticed that you trained at IBS. I know a few of the current students and I have enjoyed competing against them at DBG and YAGP!
+EmmaRose Forbus I don't believe I ever competed in that specific competition. I did train with Mark Carlson, and German Zamuel when I was living in Colorado though! I guess that was many, many years ago now though ;-) but I am still grateful for all the knowledge and training they gave me!
Hello, I currently dance with the English National Ballet. I have also worked in the Hamburg Ballet and San Francisco Ballet. I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
+littlepapillonrose Ardell Wispies False Eyelashes have a nice more natural look. Sometimes I will even combine two onto one eye to make it more full. For a bit fuller look, I also like Ardell #105. I was thinking of doing a video just on how to pick, cut, and apply false eyelashes. Would that be something you would be interested in seeing?
+Mads' Pointe definitely would be! I've never found a pair that I really like and I really need some new ones for YAGP this April :) So that would be super helpful to me if you had time, thank you xx

Well done! Love the attached product list. Very handy.

+Mad's Pointe thanks so much for answering!!
You must get soooo tired of doing this in a long run of shows haha! Good luck for Corsaire and really excited to see more videos from you!
Lucky I enjoy doing makeup! I should definitely show a "five minute" version though :)
I love this look and my recital is in a week so I may use this look! The only negative part was I wasn't a fan of the eyeliner under the eye but hey, we all have our own opinions

Would you consider doing a makeup tutorial for headshots?
I certainly would! What type of headshots exactly? Just a general look, for modeling portfolio, or more for dance?
+Mad's Pointe thank you for responding! Dance headshots, or even a dance photoshoot.
+Stefani Kester sounds good. adding it to the list!
Do you apply your own makeup before you go onstage or does someone else?
We apply our own. It can be different depending on the company, but most times the dancers will be responsible for their own stage makeup.
Also, question: do you normally wear a normal foundation for stage or would you use pancake makeup?
I have used either Makeup Forever foundation or Tarte's Amazonian Clay 12-hour full coverage foundation for many years now. I find it easier on my skin than other options. As long as it's applied well and set with a good setting powder (my new favorite setting powder is by Ben Nye but I used to use an inexpensive powder from walgreens as well) then I find it stays and covers very well!

+Mads' Pointe I have never been able to train under either, but the quality of their teaching and instruction really shows with all of their dancers!!
Hey what company do you dance for? Also loved the video this is my first year in nutcracker!

What fave eyelashes do you use? Xx

+Mads' Pointe thank you xx
Hi cary ballet
Your foundation isn’t actually supposed to match it’s supposed to be 1-3 shades darker than your actual skin
