People who are too young to have lived through Beatlemania can’t grasp the concept of how big they were. There hasn’t been a group since who has had the impact they did. People stood in line either to buy tickets or get in to a concert would unknowingly pee themselves and not notice!
I've been a Beatles fan for over 50 yrs n I still jam on their music.. listen to I Dig a Pony, Glass Onion, Dear Prudence, Eleanor Rigby, I am the Walrus, Magical Mystery Tour, Across the Universe, Strawberry Fields, Day Tripper... n many more songs... go down that rabbit hole 🤘🏼🎼🎧🎹🥁🎸🎤 thank u for sharing 🤘🏼
I reckon 56 years a Beatles fan no argument with any you mention ... but where is Tomorrow never Knows Paul's bass and Ringo kick arse, She's leaving Home. Hey Bulldog .. bugger it let's just say every Beatles song. 🤣
Mel my darling, not one of the greatest groups, they are literally the greatest group of all time. they have sold 800 million records. They are on top of everyone.. and they broke up 54 years ago! Peace and love you guys as always! ❤🙏🏼
Definitely John is my favorite Beatle! This is Rock n Roll 🔥🔥🔥 FIRE. Loved it back then still do. No question the 60s were my favorite decade for music.
This was 1968. The height of Veitnam War. The assassinations of MLK, Robert Kennedy. The riots that followed. War protests. A lot was going on in the world. The music reflects all the conflicts.💕
The lyrics are incredibly powerful! You say you want a revolution Well, you know We all want to change the world You tell me that it's evolution Well, you know We all want to change the world But when you talk about destruction Don't you know that you can count me out Don't you know it's gonna be Alright Alright Alright You say you got a real solution Well, you know We'd all love to see the plan You ask me for a contribution Well, you know We're all doing what we can But if you want money for people with minds that hate All I can tell you is, brother, you have to wait Don't you know it's gonna be Alright Alright Alright Al You say you'll change the Constitution Well, you know We all want to change your head You tell me it's the institution Well, you know You'd better free your mind instead But if you go carrying pictures of Chairman Mao You ain't going to make it with anyone anyhow Don't you know know it's gonna be Alright Alright Alright Alright, alright Alright, alright Alright, alright Alright, alright
My family grew up in Liverpool in the early 60s, John and George where friends with my uncles and often at my nans house I have always loved each one of them they are simply the GOATS xx
The first really distorted heavy guitars I heard. I was 9 years old. Part of early inspiration to be a guitar player. There is a slow version called revolution 1 that is cool and bluesy.
The Beatles were one the first groups to use what we called back then a fuzz box , their producer (mixer ) piped all the guitars and mics back thru the box giving it the distorted sound . that's what we were told when our no name group tried to start up and cover some of their songs . :)
@Shawn and Mel- The Beatles are the greatest group of all time and its not even close. They came to the U.S in 64 and broke up around late 69. You guys need to go down the rabbit hole of them.
Me and my brother used to air guitar to this in 1969. Our Dad, a cowboy. Come down to see what we’re doing, and we reset the Apple 45 and did our production for him. He shook his head laughing as he walked back upstairs. I have tears writing about that, because my brother and father are both gone now
This is one of my favorite Beatles song, love the beat and love the lyrice and got it as a kid how great the message. If they are carrying pictures of Mau and communists we want nothing to do with it . We dont want destruction we want hope . love this song
Nothing can be said about the Beatles that hasn't already been said. Nonetheless, what a blast watching you guys react! How can I get a music reaction suggestion on your channel?
You know, when we say the Beatles are the greatest band of All Time, it's not just our opinion. Imagine their nearest rivals sale was your little Toe. The Beatles sales would be the very tip of your punk style Mohican haircut. That's how far they have sold Billions 50 years after they split up. I've met 18 year olds, older and younger, who are either already fans or are just discovering the rabbit hole after not even knowing anything about them. I'm in my 60s, and it amazes me how many and how much kids 18-30 ( my youngest is 35) know about the Beatles or really want to find out info about them. They were still a group when I listened to Twist and shout for the first time and I couldn't believe Paul on the TV news saying he was leaving the Beatles and he was taking it to court. .. thankfully I discovered Black Sabbath and 70s group Slade listen to War Pigs by Sabbath and Coz I Luv You by Slade ( Slade were very big in the UK from the 70s into the 80s Ozzy Osbourne once said Noddy Holder of Slade had the best voice in Rock n Roll. Not to be sniffed at.) and many more by both groups. They got me through the break up of the Beatles until McCartney and Lennon started their solo careers. McCartney, man, what a legend he's had more hits than the Beatles, but he's come to accept he'll always be remembered for those 7 short years. I like Lennon big fan, but Lennon was always introverted in his songs. Macca could write songs about anything.. as well as having the voice to sing them, when he's no longer around, watch how many musicians even modern ones bow down and miss the passing of a true music God. I might add that I hope both he and Ringo last for many years to come. But like her late Majesty the Queen of England, etc, you hope they will last forever, but you also know deep down, its a battle they will inevitably lose. Love you, John and George R.I.P
Sorry Mel, I caught myself dancing in my chair and looked and saw that I was doing the same thing Shawn was doing. I thought, Oh my goodness, I'm dancing with Shawn! You two are great. Thank you!
In 1968, The Beatles were very aware of world politics. The war in Vietnam loomed over the lives and dreams of all young people. The call for revolution was a natural response to society's demand for compliant participants and supporters of a dubious war of aggression. Furthermore, the vast country of China was being ruled by a totalitarian communist regime under the strict hand of Chairman Mao Zedung, who is castigated by Lennon in this song.
Great reaction too the greatest band to ever do it and it ain't even close. This was shot in 1968. Check out the video of "Hey Jude" live from the David Frost Show 1968 if you haven't seen it. Also 1967 videos for "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "Penny Lane". These two songs were released as a double A-side single in 1967 and is still regarded as the greatest single in history. The two videos that they shot for these two songs are recognized today as the first two videos in history shot and distributed worldwide to promote the single. As George Harrison stated in 1993 on the Anthology series, "I guess that we kinda invented MTV some 14 years before there was an MTV" followed by a great little Harrison chuckle. The Beatles were always 5 steps ahead of everyone else with everybody trying to catch up to them. By far the most intelligent, creative and influential band in history. Two more great videos from 1965 in black and white and were shot for TV shows are "Day Tripper" "We Can Work It Out" also which were released as a double-A-side single on December 2, 1965 the same day as the release of their iconic Lp "Rubber Soul" one of the all time great album's in history. Both of these songs shot to #1 both in America and the UK. The Beatles had several double A-sides, no other artist in history even had one. Kinda speaks to just how great this band was. These two songs are great and "Day Tripper" has go go girls in the skirts in the beginning of the video before running off stage past The Beatles. This video is a classic sixties time capsule and a must watch and like I said, two classic #1 songs. I hope that you two will consider these five videos. You'll love them. John Lennon + Paul McCartney + George Harrison + Ringo Starr = The Beatles which = The True GOAT'S in the history of recorded music. And please people out there, don't waste my time commenting back at me with Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd or Queen which are all great bands I'm their own right but please, let's not confuse them with The Beatles. I don't have time for such nonsense. Peace and Love Guys
Hi Shawn & Mel! Love your reaction to The Beatles! Here are 3 songs to consider for reactions - The The Uncertain Smile (Vevo version), The Undertones "You got my number, and last, but not least The Smithereens "Blood & Roses"! Enjoy!!
Hi. Can i, please, ask more Alphaville? The best songs: big in Japan; a victory of love; sounds like a melody; summer in Berlin. Greatest vocal, melodies, beats!
Can you guy's please let your audience know what is going on. Instead of ghosting your Audience for more than a week just drop a post and let us know something. People have the right to know we pay our hard earned money to listen to a few songs that we can listen to for free on UA-cam anyway. I was waiting all weekend for you guys to go live. Maybe your sick or something else we just want to know because we care about you guy's. I mean nothing but respect and love in this message. A lot of times messages get taken out of context like a text or post. I know that Russell and Dawn are also concerned as well. I can't speak for them but a nice post to keep your audience informed would be greatly appreciated. Thank Shawn and Mel love you both!!
@@kentclark6420 Definitely not a break they have been live once since the holidays. I just think a small post would be nice. Their are people who spend quite a bit of money just to have their song's played. I just hope they are okay. I'm more worried that something has happened to one of them. The fans who support them have the right to know what's going on. This is not like them at all to go this long without going live or doing a reaction video.
Hi my loves, I just wanted to say hi and I still love y’all even though I haven’t been around in a long time ❤, hope y’all have a wonderful Christmas 🎄 🥰🥰😘

Wow that’s amazing 🤩
Top selling musicians of all time.
Revolution has just as much, if not more significance and impact today as it did in 1968.
Ringo is 28 here, John is 27, Paul is about to turn 26 and George just turned 25 years old here.
ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE BY THE BEATLES☮️🌎🎸🇺🇸
The "remastered 2015" version. It sounds much better in headphones.
All together now
THE GREATEST ALLTIME! THE BEATLES!
RIP John. RIP George.
Said to be the first heavy metal song ever.
This was 1968. The Beatles are the greatest.

One of my favorite Beatles songs! Great reaction💕
You can just tell the effect they had on the world. There's just something different about these guys.
I'm glad you got this. Nice
They changed everything and in such a short time too .
They got that sound by pugging their guitars straight into the mixing desk, apparently it almost overheated and burnt out...
The Beatles were one the first groups to use what we called back then a fuzz box , their producer (mixer ) piped all the guitars and mics back thru the box giving it the distorted sound . that's what we were told when our no name group tried to start up and cover some of their songs . :)
💙 Oddly, there’s a connection (and drama) between this song and the sweatshirt you’re wearing, sir.
The greatest band, ever.

I remember when it came out, everyone loved it then, still do today.
Great choice... But on the Beatles White Album there is a sweet acoustic version...
You reacted to a Good version of this song! I'm glad. Bless you two!

THE BEATLES!! CHARLES HARRIS
Lady's and Gentlemen... the BEATLES!!
No two Beatles sounded the same. They constantly grew
Basically, the message is that NOTHING CHANGES. Our country is run by corporate interests. 😢 Sick, sad, reality.
It only went to #12 on the charts????? How is that possible????
Please listen to “hey Jude” and come together by the Beatles
What a beautiful and wonderful couple. God Bless Them Both!
Greatest ever

I once called in a request for that song to a radio station on July 4th. The DJ was not pleased or amused.

I think the opening riff blew a lot of minds. “You better free your mind instead”

Lovely couple. Lovely reaction.
Paul got a lot of his yells from " Little Richard " when the Beatles opened for him in the UK.
You two give me what I need...lots of love
Omg I love this!!
Still the best band of all time, GOATS!!
Best guitar into of all time.
Greatest band ever! 14 albums and over 300 songs in 7 yrs and not one song sounds alike 🍻💯
Did you know how young they were? Not one of them was 30 yet when this album came out.
Please Do More Of The Beatles, Please Keep Them Coming
