  • I was really pleased with this picking of an excellent and difficult lock...then I destroyed it by over rotating the core once picked 😫😫😫 Please learn from my mistake! 👍

    I work for a company that installs security systems, under which we also switch locks.
    For a big project I installed Keso cylinders, and now I understand why the company (a big one, wont say the name), wanted them. They look like a switzer cheese, they have like 20 holes on each side xD Guess they are kind of unpickable, if it already took such a skilled person that much time to pick this one with fewer pins.
    Good job tho, looks difficult af!

    These are pretty good locks they are up there with the Kaba Quattro dimple lock. I have a brand new KESO RS 10 Omega euro and I can't seem to get anywhere with it. Every little movement means something is going right.

      @@LockNoob much appreciated Ash.
      I'll have plenty of time to attempt it while being stuck inside for the next few weeks.
      I hope you and your family are doing well, with all the craziness going on lately.

    Great job. Gutting any Keso is dangerous. They usually ontain many tiny hollow pins and springs that are feather-light and almost invisible. A true nightmare to re-assemble.

    • @douro20
      @douro20 4 роки тому

      Same with some Kaba locks. But neither are made to be re-keyed outside of the factory in Switzerland.

    • @brooklynkayak
      @brooklynkayak 4 роки тому

      Too bad they expect you to gut and reassemble if you pick one for a belt assessment. I did it, but don't want to attempt it again:-)

    Fabulous lock and really well picked. Looks like a daunting lock to pick. A couple of things to comment on if that's ok:
    Firstly a couple of times I thought I could have been watching Daz Evers there at moments during that pick, you use a similar method/ technique. .
    Also, after picking the right and left side could you not just use the dimple pick to lift the pins at the top. For example by using the tip of the flag. That way you wouldn't need to keep changing tension. Just I thought I had. Unless the tip of the flag isn't strong enough?
    PS I wonder if you could knock out the pins where the lock is strengthened and maybe use the Dremel to cut the crimped clips, if it would come apart? That then begs you to ask the question that if it is possible to split the lock would it take away the fault?

    • @LockNoob
      @LockNoob  4 роки тому

      No problem with the Daz comparison, he’s a fantastic picker! 😃👍 and yeah, the flags are designed for rotation, so the feel, feedback and strength just isn’t there for me if used that way 🙂🙂

    On some similar locks I have, it "seems" they are easier to rake, zip, bump or tickle, than spp`ing. On a Keso I have I can zip gently with a hook and zip it open, but it takes 5-10 times. Zipping it more and more if get you get my meaning.
    I hope I can manage to film so clear detailed, and without anything blokking the view on the lock.
    I promised UA-camr Urbanhawk that I would make a video on a lock. Been practising to keep fokus and in view. But its not easy, when you never have done it before, in that way.
    I cant seem to film without my hands/fingers get in the way. Do you have the camera in front of you?
