Pier Paolo Pasolini was a controversial Italian film director and writer. He directed and wrote the film Teorem, and worked it up as a novel at the same time, You might want to check out a Wikipedia article on him. As you've remarked, you don't really go the movies, so you might be unaware of his background.
Haha! Great haul! I watched for the 40% off sale too and have several of the same books, either through this purchase or previous sales. Blue Lard, The Singularity, The Skin of Dreams, and My Death. I just started My Death for a book club and am liking it so far. The premise is interesting. A writer whose husband has passed away so she is meeting with her literary agent and suddenly is inspired to write nonfiction/biographical story about a woman who wrote about Greek mythology. This sounds perfect given the explosion of Greek myth retellings. It is about 100 pages and a quick read. I also picked up A Journey Round My Skull which sounds interesting. I'm thinking about reading The Singularity or Journey Round My Skull next. Happy reading!
I love that classic opening shot to the set the scene for your video - brilliant. Great channel name too - really clever badging. I like the way you've put your channel together. I read a lot of classics & magical realism, but haven't heard of most of these titles. They sound great. You always give me much to think about. Thanks!
Love NYRB design and how they feel

@@KatJack-vl8xj I looked him up. I hadn’t known he was murdered. Wild views. I hope the novel is interesting.
Some interesting reads 👍
Plenty to keep you busy there and food for thought.
Fabulous haul. Those editions are beautiful

A Journey Round My Skull looks fascinating. I’m putting that on my list of possibilities for the next big sale.

@@apoetreadstowrite One of the things I love about NYRB is they often publish the more obscure classics.
@@anotherbibliophilereads Ah, there's hope for us all.
👍
The Singularity sounds the best in my opinion with its philosophical sort of themes. Interesting selections all around though!
I’ve been avoiding book haul videos, but nyrb? Not on your life! 😂
Thanks David. NYRB also has 40% sales at the end of the year but I'm always doing my Read What You Own challenge at that time of year.
Great haul but I was left saying "my name... is Greg" by myself.
Oh dear.
