After nearly 10 years of using iphone, I decided to upgrade my iPhone x to the note 20 ultra. I finally understand what people meant when they said iphones are for sheep and this and that. There's just so much you can do on android devices, the possibilities are endless! So happy to finally be away from IOS
I'm a note user, tried the 12 pro max. I just couldn't charge it for my note 20 ultra. I went back to the note.
It's autocracy vs democracy that's why I prefer Android phone. My last iPhone was iPhone 4.

Better resale wallet, you are kidding, right? I just bought Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, 12 Gig X 512 Gig storage, 5 nm technology; just like iPhone’s, for 800 dollars less than iPhone 12. Considering the price difference, I will be still better of if I discard the phone after few years of use. It beats me why today customers keep going for over[riced phones, when there are excellent quality and performance brands.

Moreover in India (or anywhere where the Note 20U comes with Exynos 990), I guess, iPhone the best camera+battery+performance device for someonw who wants the best of the best..

Really? I've had a Note for years and can count the number of times I've used the Stylus. My kids like it for doodling when I let them, but other than that I've never had a use for it.

Damn I got tricked! I chose all photos from side “A” and I’m on an 11 Pro Max.😝. Bravo 👏🏻 Samsung. I wish we had the split viewing feature on iPhone for sure.
Take a closer look in the shadows of the photos. Both are, of course, amazing devices. But IMHO I think the photos from B are always keeping more details in the shadows (in the first photo, for instance, check the girls coat in the bottom part, we can see some stripes-ish in the B, but we just can't in the A. The same happens to more photos). But we can't go wrong with any of the devices, that's for sure.
@@IgorOzz I’m not a photographer so I couldn’t understand what the differences I was seeing. But I definitely could tell B was the pro max. The colors were a bit more natural and more depth in the backgrounds.

I bought Exynos version 2months ago and was really worried for battery life.. Turns out it's perfectly fine. Lasts a day no matter what I do (5-6h screen time). Amazing phone im every single aspect!
The Iphone 12 may be better in some cases for the cameras, but I think people prefer a balanced camera, and the note 20 ultra has the best overall camera.

I'm always surprised by the flak the fingerprint sensor on the Note gets; I have the Note 10 and, while the fingerprint sensor on it is not the fastest that I've tried, it works 99% of the time. That's about as reliable as the fingerprint sensor on the iPhones that I've had, and better than the one on the Samsung S8 I might add. I suspect that what helps in my case is that I register each thumb a couple of times from different angles, or maybe the quality of that sensor is not consistent and varies by the unit!

Doing the same. Was about to get an s21 till I realized they skimped the specs this year, Note 20 Ultra or S20 Ultra may be the best phone to get in 2021 even though the new phones are out. Lol
The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is the best Smartphone of 2020
I love both. The apple ecosystem works so well for me that third party solutions still can’t match. Video recording is the best on iPhones and standby battery is always good. But I love the note pen, and it’s so functionally useful, I don’t know why apple doesn’t bring it over. Also split screen on phones. There’s no excuse apple. I also like dex, and it’s getting better and better.

I had the N20U, traded in for a IP12PM last year, and just this month went back to the N20U. Love both phones, both have their own unique qualities, however I think it is the app store that settles the argument for me.
You cannot beat the quality of the apple app store and the way the apps seem to be hugely better for iOS than Android.

Note hands down. With all the customisation you can do on Android, plus the softwork takes advantage of the bigger screen with so many things. Side by side the camera might be better on iPhone but if u have 1 phone and take a picture with the note, u won't be left wanting anything else 👍🏻👍🏻

Have been watching your videos for 2 years now and found your channel when I was researching what laptop to buy. (I ended up buying the Dell XPS 15) Just wanted to give props for always producing high quality content - great job! Phone wise I am using a Huawei mate 20 pro and have been super happy with that. I am looking to upgrade but think I will hold out for the Galaxy S21 as I think the Note is just very very big and also really a deal breaker with the Exynos having much lower performance.
Do you think the Galaxy S21 will outperform the Note 20 Ultra in its maxed out version?

Seen the comparison in videos, they should be priced differently and also this should be more known to new users as I only found out on YT about it otherwise I would of ordered one, going with the 12 pro max instead.

Hey Tom, thank you for the great review. I have used both devices, and I would go for Note 20 ultra for sure. There are just 2 problems with Samsung phones in my opinion. First is the sound quality which is significantly stronger and better on iPhones and ipads, and 2nd, is Instagram video quality, unfortunately. But except for these two issues, I would go for Note without a doubt.
Even iPhone fanboys and user, should accept that Samsung is on another level right now, by far note 20 ultra is better!
Not exynos 🤮 also the iPhone is faster during benchmarks

Nah, don’t need gimmicks. iPhone lasts years, my 8 plus was incredible when I first bought it, and didn’t slow down at all, and I don’t think I ever had an app force shut down in the 3 years I owned it. Now upgraded to a 12 and given the 8 plus to my mum. However, before owning iPhone I always had android. I had an s7 edge, then an s8, which got swapped out for the iPhone 8 Plus. My s7 edge had huge amounts of screen burn, same with the s8 after just 1 year of owning. What use is having a good screen if it’s ruined after a year with screen burn? Same happened to my grandads s9 and my friends s10. Absolutely crap, however 3 years with my iPhone, not a single problem. Androids are buggy, not optimised and not future proof. People who own iPhone don’t care about these absolute gimmicky features, so enjoy them. We are happy with a phone that works absolutely seamlessly for years on end.

I own both as well and I honestly have gotten to where I just prefer whichever phone my SIM card is already in. When I'm using my MacBook more, the iPhone Pro Max edges ahead. When I'm working the Note 20 Ultra is more useful with split screen. Many apps seem more flushed out on the iPhone version, but the Note 20 has customization, so it's whatever is more important to you. I will admit the fingerprint sensor has made the Note 20 win my SIM card on some days if I'm wearing a mask more.
Thank you for your honesty in helping me decide what phone to get. For me I think its the note 20 because I love a big screen and I think the note had the best pictures
Sold the Note 20 ultra due to the terrible signal strength I was getting. Also have a z fold 2 (SD865+ in EU) Which has always been perfect signal.

Because iPhone is just a phone for me while the Note 20 Ultra can do a lot more in multitasking
But for gaming experience iPhone didn’t heat to much like Note 20 Ultra
And Note 20 Ultra to big to hold while playing PUBG mobile
Video are more stable and more bright in iPhone but for photography the Note 20 Ultra look more warm and nice colors (without editing)

This was an awesome review to watch! I currently own both, and am in the process of deciding if to sell my Note 20 Ultra in favor of keeping the iPhone 12 Pro Max, or return the iPhone and stick with the Note. Something I really appreciate is good battery life, as I am a heavy user (Netflix, UA-cam, Spotify, etc.) and the iPhone 12 Pro Max gives me 8-10 hours of screen-on time, on average, while the Note 20 Ultra offers 6.5-7 hours on the 120 Hz setting. However, with the iPhone, battery life also depends on what apps you use the most, as the lowest I have gotten is just a meager 6 hours once (I am serious). Anyhow, although I am leaning towards keeping the iPhone as I have forever been an android user and am interested in trying out a different OS now, we'll see what I go with. Anyway, nice comparison! The points you mentioned rang true, based on my experience with both phones. : )
I'm in a similar situation, after using android for many year it just doesn't feel like enough of a jump when upgrading phones, ive switched to iPhone as it'll be completely new and refreshing.

I was tempted this year to finally try iphone as my main phone for the first time ever. Then they revealed it would not come with a charger, and no 120hz screen. So I might just keep my old s10+ a little longer. I like what I'm seeing with iOS being more customizable these days, how smooth and lag-free the iphone experience is, and the amazing resale value of an iphone. My s10+ will sell for less than half what I paid for it when it came out, and iphones the same age can bring in 2/3 of the cost it was brand new.
Got my first ever iPhone this year because I was sick of the Samsung software, I couldn’t stand it any longer. I went for the regular 12 and love it! I will be staying team iPhone for now

Something else important to mention is that Samsung have a great trade in scheme and frequently have promotions. Recently I got £350 for my Huawei P30 Pro and along with other discounts I got my N20U for under £700
Where I live the Iphone Pro Max costs double the price of the Note Ultra.....so......Samy for sure.
I have the regular 12pro but I still prefer using my note 20 ultra.. so much to do on that thing plus I love customizing my phone 😁
but isn t Samsung known for lagging after some time of use ? I had only i phones since the iPhone 4 but I am stuck with the Apple platform (iMac, iPad...)

The Note also adds extended storage with SD card slot. I don’t think the iPhone has that capability
I’ve been using an iPhone since 2013 and I want to try out an Android phone. That’s why, I would go for the Note 20 ultra instead of the 12 pro max.
I don't think you'd regret getting the Note 20 Ultra. I have it and I freakin' love it.
IMO, if you don't mind the S Pen, it's better if you wait a bit more because S21 is coming very soon, as soon as next month. Judging from leaked specs, it might be the real next big thing. My 2 cents :D
I’ve had Android for over 6+ years and just switched back over to the iPhone again because I wanted something different and the camera is awesome when it comes to selfies which suck with the Android. I regret it.... 😢🤦🏽♀️

I have always used both android and iphone for their own respective differences but since my Samsung got One UI 3 and android 11 , i wind up using it a lot more now
When you did the battery test, you did not specify if both were at 1080 and 60fps, were they or were you running the Note 20 Ultra at either higher fps or resolution?
i think default of note 20 ultra is 120Hz, if he would of test it on 60Hz i think both would be a draw or note 20 ultra will win.

I prefered photos from camera A and I honestly though it was the iPhone until the 50x zoom. I like the nightmare better on the note too.

Been using android for years, my last android was the Note 9.
I’ve been changing phone every year the last 10 years or so.
Now I’ve had iPhone 11 and 12 pro Max.
All I can say both are good and have pros and cons. The only truth is you won’t miss, both are great phones
Then what did you choose between the two? I have note 9 now and looking to buy this either one of this phone

If you’re going for the note, be sure to look up the black screen of death issue. It’s been very common and I’ve had it myself. Samsung also won’t repair it under warranty, i had to pay A LOT to get it fixed and now I’m selling it for an older gen iphone lol
