I know sounds crazy, but if you just start TALKING about something you want to buy, don't search it, and you will STILL have ads coming in about something you were only talking about, pay close attention & I guarantee you'll notice, it might not happen first time you try, but just remember what I'm saying & at some point you'll experience it
Now that I've worked at purple for almost a year.... it is great to see the progress we've made about everything. Now if you order things, they come all together. Purple delivers it themselves so you don't have to use ups or anything(for mattress and other large products like bed frames) and the sheets are amazing. Back problems do help. And if you ever wonder what bed you can get that would work best for you, go to a show room and test them out. But the more inches the softer the bed/ the more you sink in. Also Now the mattresses come in bags instead of that massive roll up mess. Im glad to see how we do it now
You must've not worked at purple at all lol I just ordered a mattress foundation and sheets and they didn't all ship together, I got my mattress threw days before I got my foundation and sheets. They were all shipped FedEx, and it came in the roll up but I didn't mind it.
Whats that purple 3 is garbage? May I ask why? I ordered up a purple 3. Temperpedic is a scam atleast the all foam mattresses. Only good mattress has springs if you want it to last. Springs with memory foam atleast or purple 3 mattress.
@@arizonarangerwithabigirono1520 purple 3 is best. Ive had all foam temperpedics. Temperpedic hybrids. You want that purple grid. Doesn't lose support over time. Only bed I can sleep on my stomach and my wife sleep on her side. Besr mattress hands down. Better than my old temperpedic adapt hybrid medium for sure. I couldn't sleep on my stomach with that bed. Memory foam latex lose support over time and even more when they heat up from bodyheat to wake up with sore spine. Just wait and see if you have temperpedic
I know lol... the mattress should have aired out for a couple of days with the window cracked for fresh air, before putting on freshly washed sheets!👍 Much healthier and pleasant experience!🛏
My wife and I have had the Purple Mattress for about 4 months now and we love it. It has helped with our back pain and really does feel like it is a quality mattress. He pretty much hits the pros and cons on the head with this review. The weight is something you need to consider. We have a two-story house and getting this mattress upstairs was pretty much a terrible experience. Would I say its worth all the effort we put into setting this mattress up? I would say that it is well worth it. We were shopping around for mattresses (Rooms to go, Ashley's furniture, etc) and you're not going to find a mattress at this level of quality cheaper. Ours was 1300 and we did get a platform bed frame from Rooms To Go for the mattress. One last note I would like to say is this review came out over a year ago and the way they send you the mattress is completely different now. It now comes in flattened and rolled up. Placed inside a massive purple bag. Makes moving it around a lot easier since it takes up a lot less space than the old way which you see in this review.
We recently got the .2 bed and love it and don't find it too firm for us! We got to test all four beds at our local Mattress Firm here in Seattle The .2 is the firmest of the four types (.2, Original, .3, .4 - firmest to least firm) If you are like my wife and I, you might not need to go to the more expensive .3 or .4. Before this bed we had always slept on standard coil mattresses on the firm side. We are in our very late 50's. She is about 175 lb and I am 190 lb. My wife is a combo back and side sleeper and I am a combo stomach and side sleeper. Since we aren't used to foam or soft mattresses, we find the .2 to be heaven!
Just realized we have a Mattress Firm only 4 miles from where I live and has them on the floor to actually lay on. Hoping to go within the next week, but...I may even go tomorrow to settle my curiosity.
I just ordered the 2, but having doubts and wished maybe i ordered the 3. Sales person at Purple did admit that the difference is negligible. I am 190lbs, my wife is 120. Thoughts?
I’ve had it for 4 years now and it still is as amazing as when we got it. I left a review for it on this video. My only qualm has been with their bed frame. The mattress is awesome though. Writing this review from it right now lol. You won’t regret the purchase (just maybe look for a different brand frame for the bed).
I've had the original Purple mattress for almost 4 years.I originally had a king sized waterbed with drawers under it and a big mirrored headboard. After 30 years I decided on the Purple mattress.I kept the wooden encased frame and mirrored headboard from my waterbed and had to get the California King mattress. It was a perfect fit!The purple mattress was perfect from the first night I slept on it.When I ordered my mattress I got the mattress protector free.I ordered the sheets also. The sheets are great.Soft and stretchy and don't bunch up like most sheets. And material is very durable. After 4 years and alot of washings,I only have a few tiny holes.I will order more sheets and a pillow next. You can never go wrong with anything"PURPLE"💜
Send A Raven lol that was actually really funny 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Can you do a 1 year + review on the mattress? Would love to see it. Just subscribed. Update: I bought the .3 and love it. Took about a week to get used to, and my back pain is also gone. I really do love this thing. Still want your year (plus) review...
@ Yo! Thanks for the response! Good luck with your new purple 4! Yes I did end up getting purple 3. I’m around 240 so I hope I don’t have any problems. I’ve been seeing a bunch of mixed reviews so I was very skeptical on it but I’ve been asking other ppl on UA-cam and so far they love it! The only issues people are having are defective beds where they have possibly been sitting at a wear house for a while and the bed becomes somewhat deformed. Like in your case. I wouldn’t blame you, it isn’t cheap! LolI’m going to make sure the bed it perfect once I get it Sunday.
My wife and I have had the '.2' queen for about 75 days and love it and don't find it too firm. After the first 10 days we briefly discussed switching to the '.3', but after another week we concluded the '.2' is perfect - just the right amount of soft and support for us. And it sleeps really cool. My wife is about 175 lb and I am 190 lb. She is a combo back/side sleeper and I am a combo stomach/side sleeper. Before this bed we've always slept on traditional spring mattresses on the firm side.
Thank you for the review! I was debating about getting it and which one to get. Nice to know that they do a little survey to suggest the best one for you. Memory foam wasn’t really helping my back issues as mush as I needed it to.
Bought the Purple 3 hybrid (springs and purple material) and I have never been happier. I am a side sleeper about two hundred and twenty lbs. and used to get real bad hip pain. Since I’ve gotten the purple I have had absolutely NO hip pain. Best mattress ever (and we use a heavy duty box spring with no issues).
@@xomgitsvince so mine is a Purple 3. It has that spring support like all the ones that are not the original purple. No sag at all. It, as far as I can tell, is just like the day I brought it home. I have zero back pain, and have gradually come to like sleeping on my side as much as on my back. I was exclusively a back sleeper before. I have never slept on anything like this before, and I get to use it every night too! There are only a few products I can count on one hand that wildly exceeded my expectations. (If you would like to know, the other items on the list are my Mazda3, my IPhone, and my wet shaving gear of shavettes and DE safety razors). And this mattress is up there as one of the must-haves. I can’t imagine living without this. I don’t sleep in my recliner anymore because the bed is just too perfect.. The two advantages it has over memory foam are great: instant conforming to your body, as opposed to the slow memory foam that takes awhile and then traps you into a slot, and being cool and VERY resistant to heat buildup. You will be amazed at the temperature of the mattress always being perfect. This alone adds significantly to its value. I also own the purple pillow, but that isn’t something I can use by itself and find comfortable. I use it as an elevator for the pillow on top. So you can guess I have zero regrets, and I rank this as one of the top five items I’ve ever owned. However, there are people who don’t get along with this mattress. Worst is if it is someone’s spouse. I don’t know how many people are like this, but I think you should take the trial you can use for up to 100 days. The mattress is expensive. What I can expect, is that if you are one of the lucky people who like this mattress, you are going to MASSIVELY love it. One reviewer of the original Purple said he had a friend with back pain. His friend said if he wore out and had to buy a new Purple mattress every year, it would still be worth it. Purple material is also very very heavy. The pillow weighs ten pounds. That thing stays put. And you can forget about trying to move the mattress by yourself. If you need a reference, my weight has varied over the last year from 180 to 205.
I've been using the Purple mattress for about 3 months and it's been the best bed hands down so far. I've had 7 spine surgeries and I'm doing much better than I was with a memory foam bed.
Awesome news! I have chronic back pain and we just bought this bed! Then I came on line to read the reviews after! Sounds like we made a great choice 👍
@@rothieadunnigan2009 We have a King 3 and love it! We tried a Queen 2 and found it to small for us (we have had a King for over 10 years) and too firm as side sleepers. We went back within the 100 nights and switched up to a King 3 and it has worked out great. The King allows us more elbow room and the 3 is soft enough for us to sink in as side sleepers with out our arm falling asleep.
When I first got the mattress and slept in it I wasn’t sure what I thought. It definitely was a different feel and I was sleeping on a straight cheap memory type foam mattress. I’ve had the purple bed a couple of months now and I’m totally in love. It’s a very comfortable mattress . I’m a side sleeper and my sides don’t hurt like they used to when I wake up.
I love your review it helps me before I buy things all the time. I bought the purple mattress, purple pillow for both my wife and me, the sheets, a purple mattress for our guest room, the bed jet v2, the ninja air fryer, range mate pro, and tons of other products that you gave great reviews on.
@@aleeeeeeeeable Ditto. I trust him too because he pretty much tries out everything in front of our eyes. I also have a list of things I bought after seeing James review them. Some things I didn't even know existed.
Something that's really important for me, when laying on the bed are you able to feel the holes? If the surface I'm laying on has any ripples, such as from the bed protector sheet starting to come loose and bunching up, I can't sleep.
Yes, I'm the same, hate wrinkles or ripples in the bedding. So, I'd love to know this as well. What is the surface texture like? Can you feel the holes or perhaps more likely the cell walls either collapsed or not?
Yes you will lightly feel the grid pattern with a gentle touch. That is the main thing for me to adjust. But after aboiut a week you will adjust. I am 230 lb. person and I sleep on my side. The Purple 4 is a bite on your bank account but it is very comfortable.
My wife and I upgraded to a purple about 6 months ago. Similar experience, in that it was heavy and didn't show up with our sheets/platform (our platform showed a week ahead) and then it was tough to move with it due to the weight, but outside of initial setup it has been awesome. Highly recommend.
Ive had a Purple mattress for about a year now. The price to quality of life change is worth it. I've been injuring myself a lot lately and its nice to know that my pain is not from my bed lol. I actually find the frame really easier to work with. I also just spent $30 on a vacuum package to move it to another state cus the last few times i moved it was a nightmare. you can leave the plastic over it, but its gonna tear cus this sucker is HEAVY!
Yes BUT when they make clothes and cloth materials they use a chemical called sizing in the product that is not good for the skin. It keeps the material looking fresh and keeps the seams sharp in clothing.
billybobproductions .. I know some1 who got a terrible rash/skin condition from fresh from the factory socks that took a seriously long time to get rid of.
Did the sheets feel cool during the night? Have they had the little balls form on the sheets after several washes? I hate when sheets do that, I will pay higher prices for smooth sheets.
I've had the Purple sheets for a while, and while I haven't noticed any pilling (the little balls), I have noticed a few holes/runs develop over time. The material feels like a beefy nylon so I guess it makes sense.
I know this is years old but thank you for consistent, honest reviews!! I value you and your family for all that you do!! Truly a YT blessing us for you reviewing and helping us all!!
Thank you for your review. Still undecided as to what we will do, but I wanted to give you a possible solution to the sliding of the mattress. They sell a type of material to prevent a carpet sliding on a wood floor. I use it for many other things: table cloths, sewing projects, keeping my laptop still on my desk etc...
Thanks for the review. I've been sleeping on one of the original TemperPedic memory foam mattresses for over 15 yrs. At 300 lbs. I'll wear out a concrete slab so I'm starting to look for a replacement. There are so many of these high tech space age foam sleep systems out these days that it's hard to choose. Reviews like yours are a good start in the process. Thanks
In my case I am petite 5' 1" and weigh in the 105-120 lb range and need something doesn't sleep too firm or too soft due to back, neck and hip issues. Reviews like this are great and the added feedback in comments is SO helpful. Back in the day you just went to a store and tried one out for 5 mins which was a joke. So, did you purchase a purple?
Thank you for this! I’ve been on the fence about purchasing a mattress I haven’t tried out in person. Your tip about giving a call to find out which one to get based on your height and weight was a big help. I called today and they suggested a 3 for me as well. Thanks again!
I bought the original Purple mattress (in Queen size,) protector, frame and sheets back in 2015, when there was only one Purple mattress you could get, and you could only get Purple stuff online. I had to hope everything came in a reasonable order. It didn't. The mattress and frame arrived 1st. I carried in from the front porch, the mattress and frame and put the bed together by myself. I weigh about 125lbs and I enjoyed doing it on my own. The mattress protector, unfortunately, wasn't among those things that arrived with the frame and mattress, which was going to be a problem, since Purple's fine print states that the protector is necessary to keep from voiding the warranty on the mattress. So I had to buy a bamboo one while I waited for Purple to send me the one I'd ordered with the bed. I was rightfully skeptical about the sheets arriving on time. The sheets, before they had purple ones, came in grey, white and sand, and bc I'd spent a mint on the rest of the bed, I only bought one set of the sheets (in grey) and two sets of bamboo sheets from Amazon, while I waited for them to to arrive. The grey Purple sheets were far superior to the ones from Amazon and eventually they made purple ones, so this year I got them and the sand coloured ones. I also got 2 of what I call the "dead baby" pillows this year, and regret ever wasting money on them, but I got the platform "Purple power base" as soon as it became available this year. Pro Purple purchaser tip: Don't let them tell you that you can put the "Purple power base" on the existing bed frame and especially not the Purple mattress frame, because it is impossible to do. You have to use the little "feet" that come with the "base' and be happy with it fairly close to the floor. Unless, like me, you want to continue to enjoy the storage under your bed, due to the 17" clearance afforded you, under the Purple mattress frame. In which case, you'll need to place pieces of wood under each of the platform's provided "feet," before setting the whole thing up on top of the original Purple frame. So now that I have all the great stuff that Purple can provide for my sleeping comfort (minus the two 10 lb rectangles of bad decisions... otherwise known as "the original Purple pillows,") it's just a matter of climbing into my nearly 3-foot high bed for the best sleep money (and a little determination, on my part,) can buy. 😉
Always wash your new bedding, even new clothing & towels before use. There is a "manufacture" smell on all new fabric, and they don't call them sweat shops for nothin. ' Plus if you buy nice white sheets it's better for adding bleach which kills allergens and mites and dander.
I can back you up on the back issue. I had lower back pain for years. With my old spring mattress and a memory foam mattress after that. I'd wake up stiff and sore. After about 6 months with the old purple mattress my back pain was gone. I recently upgraded to the purple.2 and I haven't looked back. Solid mattress. Literally, it's as heavy as a rock.
TinyLuvsBostons - Or one possible option is to check out Plumaria Bay featherbeds (online). There may be a perfect way to soften the Purple mattress without adding more synthetics. The information is very detailed and is at least educational. (They are a bit of an investment.)
Hey James we love your reviews. Wifey and I researched beds for a few days. We chose the Purple 3 Twin XL King split mattress set. I love it! We laid on the 2, 3 and 4 and we both liked the 3. (We also looked at the equivalent Intellibed models which were more than twice the money). I got the best sleep my first night on the Purple that I have had in years. We have been sleeping a Serta Hybrid Twin XL King set for about 2 years and I hated it from day one. I had to put on a 3" memory foam topper to keep from going to the chiropractor every week. So I'm looking forward to getting some quality sleep on the Purple, so far so good! Oh and we are using the adjustable bases that came with our Serta. Works great with the Purple.
@Freakin' Reviews- You mind posting an update? Maybe a 1-year later type of thing for how this thing holds up over time......does it sag in places, does the fabric wear out, is it hard to clean? etc etc
Hey! My husband and I have had the original purple mattress since January 2017. It is still amazing to this day! The main cover zippers off and on for easy clean, no issues with fabric tearing or wearing out. There has been no sagging whatsoever. Now, we got the platform base when there was a lifetime warranty. For the first two years, it was squeak free, then about 5 months ago, it squeaked with every movement. Warranty gave us a downgraded powerbase(no massage feature nor charging dock station nor lighting underneath) since they were out of platforms. We like it, but we lost our storage underneath and it isn't squeak proof. Also, the bar to hold the mattress is not on the side like the current powerbase for sell, it is right in the middle of the end of the base and it hurts when you forget about it
Eric Swells he actually didn’t, he talks about using it in different videos are when he tries pillows and stuff he talks about how he’s still sleeping on his purple mattress, especially if it’s the only thing he’s found that’ll help with his back pain
Thanks to this review, as well as others I purchased the Purple 3. To me, the Purple 4, while I'm sure it's very comfortable, sounds like it would be too sinky, like a waterbed feel. I used to own a waterbed back in the day, and as the old saying about waterbeds go, the two best times for a waterbed owner, is the day you buy it, and the day you drain it, and get rid of it... For me, the Purple 3 is perfect! I have severe back issues, from a work accident, that blew out 2 discs in my lower back, disabling me, and causing me to retire from a 20 year trucking career. Since setting this mattress up about 2 months ago, my sleep life has changed drastically! It replaced a very expensive Sealy mattress, that would allow me to get 4~5 hours of sleep, if I was lucky. Now I can get 6~8 pain free hours of sleep! In fact, I had a shoulder injury, that was killing me. Since getting the Purple 3, my shoulder is feeling a LOT better, and keeps healing and feeling better! While this mattress isn't cheap, to me, it's worth every penny for the relief it's given me.
Still loving my mattress, but the sheets really disappointed me. They started to come apart in spots, and got small holes in them. Since then, I found stretchy sheets on Amazon, for $15!
Good review. I dont have need for a new mattress but you have this unique entertainment value. One cool thing I'd like to see would be more toys reviews!
We sent the Purple 4" top of their line mattress back after a month. It was crap for the money they want! We instead bought an "Intellibed". They actually developed the "grid" gel material that was licensed to Purple to build a company around. The big difference is the "gel grid" material in the Intellibed is made from "food grade" materials so there is Zero chemical odor! Our mattress also has a set of serious steel coils as well as multiple layers of higher density foams. It also come with a lifetime guarantee.
Thank you for another nonpartisan review, just your observations and experience. I currently have a Sleep Number bed, nearly 20yrs old and am thinking of trading beds in a couple of years. It rests on a platform rather than a box spring so I should be good in that department. It is a single mattress so would be going with their single mattress. I was glad to hear their sheets are not absolutely essential. My mattress also shifts during the night but it doesn't weigh anywhere near what yours (or even their single) does. I better start saving my coins, it'll take a couple of years to raise that kind of money [retired, working part time].
I haven't used this mattress but I sure would love to. I have severe fibromyalgia and post-polio disease which means full body pain and I'm thinking that this might help since it's not so solid as other mattresses are. Thank you for the review!
My husband invested in the nearly $5000 king size bed with adjustable head and feel & massage. I freaked out when I found out but it was his turn to get the bed when we moved. Let me tell you after 2 years of sleeping on this bed I'm totally sold! I use the massage unit nearly every night. I don't have the horrible back pain I used to have, granted it's not gone but I don't get the same issues anymore. AND it's still as comfortable today as it was the first night I slept on it. With our type of mattress (think twin beds shoved together) because it moves you have to get their sheets or make sure they are very stretchy or else they will interfere with the movement of the bed. All in all totally a major thumbs up.
Do not be fooled ZT ...! Did you see any hospital corner folds ??? huh ? ...huh ??? Any four inch fold downs? ...huh HUH ??? His bed making is ..... NOT MY Military "bed making". Pre shaped sheet with elastic stretchy stuff all around is HIS bed making. NOT MINE. Huh ?? Well .... not then anyway. Now I sort of like the "custom fit" stuff. No need to get up early to make my rack , er ah ...bed. ... oh oh .... Yes Dear ... only sharing boot stories with friends. Yes Dear ..... yes .... I have taken the garbage out .... .. well ... uh huh .... no need to get up .... you know what I like .... be right there ...... We can tuck the sheets in later .....
I’m 5’ 8” 200lb. I was recently able to try out all of the purple mattresses at the same time at a mattress store while on vacation in Alabama. The purple seat cushion has been a life saver for my lower back pain, especially on long car rides, so I really wanted to try the purple mattress. I ended up preferring the 4, even though I’m a stomach sleeper, thought for sure I was gonna like the 3. It also had the motorized platform and I found it interesting that with just a slight adjustment I was able to get comfortable enough on my back I may even be able to sleep on my back, which I’ve never been able to do. After trying the purple I tried all the other beds in the store and none compared to the comfort. Definitely gonna be buying one soon. Also tried the purple pillow while I was there and really liked it as well.
Thanks for this bc I'm like 5' 11" and 215lbs but I'm more of a side sleeper and pull one leg up. Definitely not a back sleeper either. I've been looking at these roll out beds and this ones the first one I've seen that I think would be better for me with my bad back. I got sheurmanns disease of the spine and scoliosis so my backs screwed. After my wreck in 2012 where I flipped 4 times with no seatlbelt on headed home from work one night and opened the gates of hell. I ended up getting addicted to oxycodone and fentenyl for 10 yrs and I'm now little over 2 yrs clean and couldn't pay me to take another! I think alot of it is this dang bed I sleep in! It's got the pillow top but so old the middle is raised like and the sides dip in where we've slept and atleast with my other I could flip and rotate it bc it was pillow top on both sides and this ones only got it on one side so it's not a question anymore lol I GOT to get a new bed!
Where do you get the purple seat cushion? I have a 2015 lexus is350 and LOVE the car but man my back KILLED me driving 3 hours to Memphis TN Airport and back home at 3am. I thought I was going to have to pull over and lay in the back seat for a min bc laying down is normally the only time I get any relief.
Hey, I just started looking into mattresses and a few online review lists pointed towards Purple as being a good fit for a stomach sleeper that runs hot which is me 100%. I appreciate your review and transparency of your fashion choices, haha, though you both mentioned back issues and this being a cool mattress and sheets feel cool to the touch too. Given I am currently 50 pounds heavier than you right now, lower back pain also is linked to my line of warehouse working for many years and the fact that all my weight goes to my gut and I allow it to ruin my posture. I do not know why this comment is now discussing my diet, but anyways...thank you again and this will help me determine my best move for a overdue bed change.
I bought the Number 3 mattress about a year ago. I’m quite happy with it. Yes,it’s VERY heavy! Be happy with the platform I bought the articulating frame and had it installed. Good choice on my part as both were heavy. Then the articulating frame quit working after about a month. I called their service department and they gave me a hard time until I told them I bought a new surge protector, then they sent me every electronic component and arranged for a service call. He came and replaced the control box and it worked again. If you buy the articulating frame, get the extended warranty,it may save you money in the long run.
I have the original Purple Mattress (bought July 2017, queen size). I didn’t have any trouble sleeping prior to it, but I woke up in pain. I now continue to sleep like the dead but also wake up pain free most mornings.
Sharkassain123 there was a little bit of a smell. But it was just a manufactured smell. Nothing bad. And no white powder with ours. An issue I believe they have said they’ve fixed, as it was just left over from manufacturing. Yes, most mornings I wake up pain free relative to my old mattress (a memory foam one from Ikea that was 8-9 years old). It’s super comfortable.
I'm thinking of buying one but I see people complaining about the mattress ending up a little sunk in more on the side they sleep more after 6 or more months. Has you bed changed shape at all?
Just bought my purple hybrid 3 premier with the upgraded bed stand with headboard. Tested the bed in store and my wife and I loved it. Can’t wait for it to come!
I have a Purple 3 and absolutely love it. They carry all of the mattresses at the Mattress Firm stores now in store so you can try them out from the original all the way to the 4 and the pillows and find what works best for you and since that place is a traditional retailer, financing is available as well.
Ah may have to go check that out! I definitely need a new bed. This dang old pillow top has to go. Having bad back issues makes it worth it price for me. I'd gladly pay that for better sleep and less back pain just was worried about getting the wrong one so thanks for letting us know they have them in most furniture stores and mattress stores. Greatly Appreciated brother!
Ive had my mattress n sheets for over a year now and can say that having the combo is so much better. The slight stretchiness of their sheets allows the beds rubber mesh to work better for your body. Also the sheets have not had any lint buildup at all. FANTASTIC product and very well worth the 1000 dollare investment
Love mine... had it like 2 years now. With a Purple pillow and sheets. Never noticed any smell like said. Rented Airbnb at Lake Havasu years ago and people had commented about the awesome mattress... I had to pull the sheets in the morning to see the brand and bought one right away.
I just naturally like people who have a good relationship with their dog. You obviously love Baily, and that makes you more trustworthy in my book. Keep her appearances going in your vids.
That platform was hell to assemble. I remember thinking it almost left me with no fingerprints. The frame came with one of the bars a little bent where you would need to insert one of the screws and that was a pain to work on. It is a heavy mattress if you have to move it. But I really love this mattress. It’s been so great with support and keeping us cool and comfortable. Their mattress protector is great. It’s not noisy or crinkly like others. I’m wondering about replacing this frame though. I’m not a fan of how noisy it’s become. The frame does give you great storage below the bed though. Spacious. I’ve had it now for 4 years now and that is my only qualm: the frame. Long story short: Mattress is excellent. Lol hope that helped.
I bought a purple mattress a few years ago and I love it, the only 2 bad points is the weight and the fact that you cannot "flip" the mattress. I weigh about 250 and over time the bed started to "sink" and created a divot from me laying in the same spot.
That's really good to know about the divot; I'm semi-confined to bed from spine damage from a car accident, and my concern with mattresses you can't rotate is exactly that divot. Sounds like we're staying with our hotel brand mattress.
Can't you rotate it maybe like just put the foot of the mattress at the head and trying sleep in the middle of the bed or somthing instead of just staying in one spot?
I was told the purple mattress is great for disabled people that get pressure sores. 1)I'm wondering did you have to buy their frame? Or was it because you went to a king size? 2)Will it work on an adjustable bed? 3)Are the sheets deep pockets? I can't seem to find really deep pockets for my adjustable bed.
best sheets ive ever had, 4 months with alot of washing, still like the day i got them. as for the mattress........ getting up is like when Morty experienced true level, only to be thrown back into a twisted reality.
@@its420somewhererightnow bought mine in 2015 (see my lengthy comment in the main comments section) and it's like I just bought it, still. Best investment ever, for getting a great product.
I have the purple 4 and my back LOVES it (I have had 2 lumbar and 1 neck surgery). I have never slept so good. I have had mine a couple years now. If you can find a purple store see if they offer a scratch and dent, we were able to get ours half off. I would recommend 100%. Plus my husband is a big dude 6'3" 260lbs and he doesn't wake me up when he moves and his lower back has not gone out since we got it. I don't wake up with low back pain anymore. I ended up recently buying the purple harmony pillow and also really love it. Hope this is helpful!
I have had a purple mattress for three years now. I have the original purple mattress (the new one had a different pattern too btw), and it was amazing... until I became bedridden and spent 20-23 hours a day, seven days a week on it for almost two years. I have a considerable dip, and my sheets are worn away to almost nothing and I only got them a year ago, and only use them half the time. But that's with way more strain than they tested for. I finally emailed purple to show them how bad the groove where my rear sits is, and hopefully I'll get a newer one. Best mattress ever though
I love my purple mattress, we were lucky they had them in store fronts so we were able to try the different mattresses. Also we have the reclining beds so we got 2 twins , another bonus is my husband had a custom frame( he is a carpenter) so we had no issues with the aesthetic’s of the bed. Btw here after watching your reviews on the 5 pillows.
Thanks for making this video. Lots of purple reviews online and this one was the most informative In my opinion. Dog is adorable. Thanks for talking about the various thicknesses and the bases. After your complaint about the base being hard to assemble & it being high for a normal skirt, I decided to buy the adjustable base. Super easy to put together, no tools needed. Certainly more expensive, but I’ve never had a bed that I could adjust to read.
It was time to get a new mattress so I figured I'd try the purple mattress, it's great, however the.purple pillow that came free with it just wasn't for me, thankfully I was able to find someone else that it was perfect for. Thanks for the reviews, you helped me find a really great mattress.
You made great points with the non-transfer of energy/movement for the mattress. One thing you didn't touch on was heat retention. Did you notice if the mattress retained excessive amounts of heat from your bodies? I tried a memory foam mattress once (which was all the rage at the time) and it really made me feel too hot to comfortably sleep on it. I realize the purple material isn't memory foam, but I've never come across info that discusses this. Thanks you for the review and your time.
I have the original purple mattress and heat retention is a non-issue. It's not like it just stays cold or anything, it's just not like a memory foam or well padded bed. I would expect these to be similar if not better as it's the same purple material only on coils instead of a pad of memory foam..
I usually get pretty hot while i sleep Well and I just got the Purple 3. I have noticed a big difference in my body temp since getting it. I sleep much cooler.
Bought a Purple 3 about 60 days ago with the platform as well. The platform has changed and is now very easy to assemble. I love the mattress, but it does take a few days to adjust, because it is different then a traditional mattress. I asked why does the mattress come first and Purple said the Mattress comes out of their factory in Utah and the other items are in their warehouse in California.
I purchased the original Purple a couple years ago, before the various options. I also deal with low back pain still after 2 surgeries. Generally I'd say it has helped, although if I'm in bed more than 7 hours I wake up with a stiff, sore back. My major issue is, I'm about 230 pounds. Before the 1st year of use I realized my 1/2 of the mattress had collapsed some, so if I'm on my side and roll towards the middle I actually have to roll up a hump. I know it's still under the 10 year warranty, but the process for demonstrating the depression to Purple is kind of involved. You have to lay the mattress on the floor and line a series of filled 1 gallon jugs of water across it, take a picture, and use an imaginary line across the top of the jugs to show the depression. I just haven't gotten around to doing that so have no idea what the rest of the warranty process will be like. I'd be curious to know what other people's experience have been like if similar. So now, I'm kind of on the fence about it.
The best sleeping solution that I've found is two 6-8 inch thick cotton futon style mattresses stacked on top of each other. Each have an inner mini "spring system."
Thanks for the input review. I was considering it for my RV. Would work since RVs have no box springs and are on a platform. But being that platform lifts up to reveal a storage area underneath, I think the weight of this has swayed me from buying it. $800 King for something that's hard to move out of a 5th Wheel RV or lift...nope
I don’t know if you’ll see this but our Purple platform ended up breaking’ even though it was supposed to be super sturdy! Love my mattress though. I have the original Purple mattress. One big con is carrying the mattress to move. So heavy!
Still like it? Me and the wife bought a new mattress about 2 years ago. $2,400 not well spent. I freakin hate that thing. I hurt everytime i wake up. Been looking at this but Im skeptical.
@@fatheremmons85 we have had ours for almost 3 years, it has held up very well and I still have no back pain in the morning. Everybody has different anatomy so results may vary but I recommend it. I do not recommend the purple bed frame, its super noisy and ours broke in like 8 months.
@@carsinruin6102 Thats good to know. I guess there's not much to lose if they give you a "test run" so to speak. I'm a commercial electrician and I hurt in more places more often these days. I think a new mattress thats the right mattress, would be a wise investment. Thanks for sharing your experience.
I went all out and bought the Purple 3 and the articulating base which is incredibly cool. I also bought the sheets and new pillows, not Purple though. Dan thing is almost $4000 even with discounts! My reason for buying a Purple is I have a bad back and I don’t sleep more than 3 hours at a time. Well,I sleep a little better but not appreciably better. I have had it about 6 weeks and am considering sending it back. Haven’t made up my mind yet.
@@xomgitsvince no sagging at all. Even on the side. You might slide off if you’re putting on your socks but the mattress is a huge improvement over the Sleep Number Bed I replaced. I kept it,and am happy for my purchase. Took a little time for my back to adjust though.
I bought a purple mattress and platform 3 years ago and slept on it for one year before the US Navy sent me to Bahrain. I loved every night I slept on that mattress. However, I elected not to bring my household goods to Bahrain so for the last two years my purple mattress has been in storage. While stationed in Bahrain I met and married the love of my life and I have bragged to her about my purple mattress constantly! I can't wait to arrive at our next duty station where we can start to use the purple mattress once again! I just hope it held up in storage. I'm curious to see its condition because the moving company the Navy contracted stored the bed standing up, if I remember correctly. I know it is a very floppy foam material so I am curious to see its condition after 2 years of storage, possibly standing on end... I'll keep you posted, should be reunited with my purple mattress in about 4 months.

Getting down to the nitty gritty.
Solid information that is not talked about nearly enough in mattress reviews
We recently got the .2 bed and love it and don't find it too firm for us!
We got to test all four beds at our local Mattress Firm here in Seattle
The .2 is the firmest of the four types (.2, Original, .3, .4 - firmest to least firm)
If you are like my wife and I, you might not need to go to the more expensive .3 or .4.
How's marriage?
I just ordered the 2, but having doubts and wished maybe i ordered the 3. Sales person at Purple did admit that the difference is negligible. I am 190lbs, my wife is 120. Thoughts?
@@ingjoe1 I got the original and I'm 125 to 130 lbs. It's lovely and 4 years old, it's just like new.

How was it damaged? I just want to make sure I don’t get a damaged or defective bed. Especially how much I paid for the bed.
Also do you have any back or neck problems with the sag?

Mr. Nobody , I got the same one, I was exclusively a back sleeper. Side sleeping would make one of my arms go numb. I can now sleep both ways.

@@Creshex8 how are you liking the bed now does it have any sag or any back pain?
I saw your purple mattress in the back of another video rolled up and I have been waiting for this! Love your reviews as always!
I've been using the Purple mattress for about 3 months and it's been the best bed hands down so far. I've had 7 spine surgeries and I'm doing much better than I was with a memory foam bed.

SHUT the front door ?!?!?! You didnt WASH the sheets before you used them??????
Eve Black they are fresh from the factory no one touched them
Yes BUT when they make clothes and cloth materials they use a chemical called sizing in the product that is not good for the skin. It keeps the material looking fresh and keeps the seams sharp in clothing.
You are correct. You are to always wash new fabrics when you buy them.
billybobproductions .. I know some1 who got a terrible rash/skin condition from fresh from the factory socks that took a seriously long time to get rid of.
Eve Black he couldnt wait anymors lol maybe it was for the review
Did the sheets feel cool during the night? Have they had the little balls form on the sheets after several washes? I hate when sheets do that, I will pay higher prices for smooth sheets.
I haven't noticed any "balls" after about 4 washings. The coolness doesn't last long after I get in bed, but the softness is always present.
That's lint build up. Wash your sheets and use a lint brush to be ball free.
I've had the Purple sheets for a while, and while I haven't noticed any pilling (the little balls), I have noticed a few holes/runs develop over time. The material feels like a beefy nylon so I guess it makes sense.
Leesa M you can take a razor and shave the sheets. It gets the balls off. Sounds ridiculous but it works well.
Leesa M they actually make what they call pilling razors. They shave it off. But I find it better to just invest in good sheets

Thanks for the review. I've been sleeping on one of the original TemperPedic memory foam mattresses for over 15 yrs. At 300 lbs.

Update
@@michaelvoorhees5978 2 years later, I still love the Purple.
Also, the bar to hold the mattress is not on the side like the current powerbase for sell, it is right in the middle of the end of the base and it hurts when you forget about it
He most likely returned the mattress after the review.
Sure he return the mattress and got his $1,500 back lol
Eric Swells he actually didn’t, he talks about using it in different videos are when he tries pillows and stuff he talks about how he’s still sleeping on his purple mattress, especially if it’s the only thing he’s found that’ll help with his back pain
@@laidbackpunkchik Thank-you for sharing your experience
Wobble Man toys have the lowest cpm
Boom tendo cpm?
Wobble Man @.
Wobble Man cpm is clicks for something basically less views
I can't image that an adult who has older children that no longer play with toys would consider reviewing toys

@@tylerstrong1776 I got mine at Duluth trading back then. Looks like they have them on sale right now.
How’s the bed holding up is it sagging at all ?
I’d love to see an update on this review, if there isn’t already one. Thinking of getting one and curious about how they hold up over time.
Real talk, I wish people would talk about the noise levels from these when doing "workouts" on the bed.
literally the first comment i read was about having sex. dude said its real nice on the knees and back and that his wife loves it
The beauty of memory foam is it is silent since there are no springs. The lack of motion transfer helps lower noise too.
There is zero noise.

Which Purple mattress did you get? Do you primarily sleep on your side or on your back? What is your approximate weight, please?
I have the original Purple Mattress (bought July 2017, queen size). I didn’t have any trouble sleeping prior to it, but I woke up in pain.
I now continue to sleep like the dead but also wake up pain free most mornings.

So your body adjusted to it and now it works fine. How do you feel if you sleep on something else like a couch?
You misinterpreted his sentence .
Vincent Sluga wife and I definitely miss our bed when we are away from it
Sharkassain123 there was a little bit of a smell.
I love Bailey going in circles! Ty for your mana'o (thoughts) on this product. I loved the video.💫
I have the 4 and I don't regret the cost. LOVE that thing lol I even got my dog the purple pet bed 😂. Great review!

Love mine... had it like 2 years now. With a Purple pillow and sheets. Never noticed any smell like said.
Rented Airbnb at Lake Havasu years ago and people had commented about the awesome mattress...
I had to pull the sheets in the morning to see the brand and bought one right away.
I bought a Tuft and Needle 8 years ago. I really like it. 10 inch foam, bed bug proof and affordable.

Did this help with your Sunday scaries?
Man, that platform is heinous.
I love the way it looks, idk why
I have the queen size and it is actually great.
Does what it needs to do. Also don’t want to pay a lot for something like that
I'll be getting a thuma.co platform. Theyre a little pricier but they're really easy to set up and take apart. Really pretty looking as well

@@its420somewhererightnow bought mine in 2015 (see my lengthy comment in the main comments section) and it's like I just bought it, still. Best investment ever, for getting a great product.
Are you still sleeping on this mattress? If so, how has it held up? It would be great to see this one revisited a couple years later.
At this point in my life I am blessed. I can sleep anywhere without pain.
Lol the dog chasing it’s tail was the best part
I have had a purple mattress for three years now. I have the original purple mattress (the new one had a different pattern too btw), and it was amazing... until I became bedridden and spent 20-23 hours a day, seven days a week on it for almost two years. I have a considerable dip, and my sheets are worn away to almost nothing and I only got them a year ago, and only use them half the time.
But that's with way more strain than they tested for. I finally emailed purple to show them how bad the groove where my rear sits is, and hopefully I'll get a newer one. Best mattress ever though
The lower section of the mattress are coils not memory foam. There is a very thin layer of foam between the purple smart grid and the coils.
Yes, thank you for clarifying. It is coils and foam.
Pressed like because dog.
Also, good review. But mostly dog
yes dog was 10/10 good boy
Dog is nice and so is the mattress. I love dogs. And my Purple bed.
first thing i thought, when i saw the video, was "i wanna cuddle that dog"
When he slid the big box with base in it into the room it looked like he was trying to help. Very good boi.
I actually did enjoyed the video. But the doggie is so adorable. When he pulled the box it almost looked like the dog was helping pull it. 🤗
Thanks for the reviews, you helped me find a really great mattress.
look who is here??? it's baileyyyyyy 💜 she love circling round hahah, good work buddy
I was genuinely confused when you opened the sheets and they weren’t purple
You made great points with the non-transfer of energy/movement for the mattress. One thing you didn't touch on was heat retention. Did you notice if the mattress retained excessive amounts of heat from your bodies? I tried a memory foam mattress once (which was all the rage at the time) and it really made me feel too hot to comfortably sleep on it. I realize the purple material isn't memory foam, but I've never come across info that discusses this. Thanks you for the review and your time.
Purples website has information regarding heat retention
Stephen K I'm sure it does. However reviews like this often prove or disprove marketing hype and claims. Was just seeking a non-biased opinion
I've had the original Purple for 2 years. It's cool to neutral. The honeycomb layout of the material seems to dissipate just enough heat.
I asked why does the mattress come first and Purple said the Mattress comes out of their factory in Utah and the other items are in their warehouse in California.
... I am very surprised you didn't wash the sheets/ mattress protector before putting them on lol. Thanks for the review! Love your channel.
I love how Bailey "helps" with every part of putting the bed and bedding together!
Been trying to replace my purple mattress since it's the most uncomfortable thing ni ever owned so now om plagued with mattress ads lmao.
I have a purple 4 and I'm a side sleeper, it's great.
I'm using amazonbasics Jersey sheets oh, it's like a flannel or t-shirt type material
Do you still like the 4? Do you feel the purple “crates” thru the top and sheets in your hips? I’m worried that pressure point, I will feel it.
So heavy!
This mattress cured my back pain as well.
I hope it will do the same for me.

@@fatheremmons85 we have had ours for almost 3 years, it has held up very well and I still have no back pain in the morning. Everybody has different anatomy so results may vary but I recommend it. I do not recommend the purple bed frame, its super noisy and ours broke in like 8 months.
