I started playing mwo about a month ago and your videos have been a great teaching tool. The fact that you explain why you do certain things as far as weapon builds and positioning have helped greatly. Love the videos thanks for taking the time and effort you put into a game you obviously enjoy playing.
"LRM60, get locks for me, it's our only chance" I see statements like that a lot, and the sheer arrogance of it always makes me laugh. "Everyone, put yourselves in harm's way so I can sit in the back and hose incredibly-spread damage that may not actually hit because I'm the only one here capable of winning a game."
Dang it. What annoys me is the bad rep that LRM boats get from poor play. I have LRM boats. I get my own locks and a share armor. (I never announce myself as a LRM boat) BUT ... dang it I still feel like bringing an LRM boat into a match will be perceived as some sort of "anti-team-anti-meta-suicide-game-throwing-build" by the other players.
I'm right there with you. My dual LRM20+A Archer rocks with 4 ERSL, high mounted TAG and LAMS. I'm right in there with the rest, more often than not lighting up targets with TAG for others.
Oh, I know how effective they can be. I've seen people in my unit and even some pugs do great things with them, you just need to actually play properly with your team and make sure your damage is really landing.
8:11 that feeling you have is me everytime i take point in my Fatlas. everyone using me as walking cover as my MRMs and Dual Rotary AC/5s lay down suppressing fire and the enemy panics, fire all their guns, over heat, and hold s. It worked in alpha and still works against laser vomit meta of the dire wolfs.
If you like this style try a ac2 and ac5 on each arm of rifleman or jagger. It gives a good balance of damage and range. Forget lasers, just load more ammo. With the difference in rates of fire you don't have to play with chain fire.
I did something similar with an Ebon Jaguar a while back..... 3 LB 2-X(in chain fire) 5 Tons Ammo 1 ER Large Laser 6 ER Small Lasers 3 Double Heat Sinks I found that the auto cannons didn't do a whole lot of damage but were good to use to keep their heads down while using the ER Large to snipe and then close in and kill with the ER Smalls.
Hey MoltenMetal, how do you get so many skillpoints on every mech? I'm a beta founder, but I've I've only played 120 matches between 2013 and 2015, I just came back a week ago so a lot of these systems are new for me. I can usually get 1-2 skillpoints per match, but at this rate it's going to take hundreds if not thousands to also have maxxed skillpoints on every mech like you do. Do you use gxp?
I far prefer the quad AC2 with a macro set up to cycle fire them with .15 - .18 seconds between each. It is very impressive but even more so on a chassis capable of absorbing return fire. I run the (S) Annihilator with quad AC2 in the torso running that macro, RAC 5 in each arm, and two ERML in the torso. Engine is a LFE 280 so it stomps along at 45kph but the armor quirks and skill points along with the LAMS help. Fire one RAC up to near jam, then the other and pepper with insane quad AC2 fire.
I'd rather have 2 on the right fire together and 2 on the left fire together for poking and putting everything into the same spot at once when needed with the extra mouse thumb button running the rapid fire. I can also do it by hitting the thumb button on my speed pad very quickly, and did for awhile, but at 47 I really do not need to develop carpal tunnel from a computer game.
you piloting and her shooting sounds pretty cool. it'd be like a two headed giant fighting with itself hahaha :D streaks might go over really well too. she did very well as a lrm boat but wanted to see her weapons hit. glad you can get a chance to see part of canada. vancouver is pretty rainy so you probably won't get the full snow-covered experience people would expect visiting here.
You should give your wife the Weedwacker(Bushwacker) 2xRAC5's since she seemed to love RAC5's alot and the wacker's tankiness and slim profile might work in her favor.
Try chainfiring the AC2s with one weapons group and then holding down left click with a different group set to group fire. Works like a charm. Of course, you lose cornering ability but I really like it.
It's a social taboo. Men aren't seen as nurturing in the USA, thus a male nanny or babysitter is exceedingly rare. Also, social pressures from what men are expected to be, as it's not seen as "manly" to care for children. This is to the extent that men have problems finding jobs in that field if they do try. It also comes with a degree of suspicion directed to men that choose to go into that profession. Those men are more likely to be suspected of molesting those children. Why else would a man want that job? (note the sarcasm) Men aren't Secretaries or other gendered positions either. (I'm not sure if that's a thing in Germany, but I assume it is to some degree.) It's quite nonsense. The bias has wide-ranging repercussions though, as women are given custodial preference over children in divorces, etc.
Sex offenders are, something like, 95% male. So a female baby sitter is an easy way to cut out some risk. But I agree, not every guy is an offender and they should have the opportunity.
the amount of crap going on in America right now....its pretty bad and its getting far far worse for all men...and even more specifically any man who is white generally..Then again compared to most other countries in well everywhere in the world...they aren't doing much better..
mehhhh. i stopped using my macro software not cause i thought it was cheating or unfair... just... literally unnecessary. i do it all manually and put just as many accurate rounds down range. takes less effort to do it myself than to calculate weapon delay and manage profiles in software.
Macros are 100% legal thus they are not considered as cheat. I just love troll idiots like you with my macros. Your salty comments in game are so tasty!

Wow total mind meld right here. Oh and he's the first one dead hanging in the back with only Lrms
Because "Team didn't support me" (I didn't see if he said that, but I see that a lot as well)
Dang it. What annoys me is the bad rep that LRM boats get from poor play. I have LRM boats. I get my own locks and a share armor. Lots of missed opportunities with your ER SLs. Can't forget about firing those even if it's out of optimal range.
8:11 that feeling you have is me everytime i take point in my Fatlas. everyone using me as walking cover as my MRMs and Dual Rotary AC/5s lay down suppressing fire and the enemy panics, fire all their guns, over heat, and hold s.

Thanks for keeping the videos up. I also struggle to find some play time, usually have to stay a bit later until my daughter is asleep. Good luck.

I love those games, 2 or 3 DC's and just dominate the other side, by being supper aggressive
no macro, big ups you don't need them

Yes. GXP is a good way to do it. Also I am playing this game roughly 8 hours a day. So the Skill Points will accumulate eventually.
hey baradul you should try doing an ecm lb10 medium pulse pheonix hawk its really fun
Rifleman - always exciting, always rewarding
UAC20 for roughneck 2A good?

no need for the macro man. 2 on chainfire on the left button, 2 on the right. the trick is to just click lots instead of holding the buttons :D
I'd rather have 2 on the right fire together and 2 on the left fire together for poking and putting everything into the same spot at once when needed with the extra mouse thumb button running the rapid fire. good for you. I'd rather not get carpal tunnel from rapid button mashing.
Did they lower the max amount of armor you can have?
Not that I know of...
Ah, no sorry, I found out what I had missed. Skills. Never been too deep on how this game work, just playing it casually.
haha I was wondering the same thing.
you piloting and her shooting sounds pretty cool. it'd be like a two headed giant fighting with itself hahaha :D streaks might go over really well too. she did very well as a lrm boat but wanted to see her weapons hit. glad you can get a chance to see part of canada. vancouver is pretty rainy so you probably won't get the full snow-covered experience people would expect visiting here.
Snuggles and Cuddles did a video like that, it was fun. 2 tier one pilots one mech.
oh i saw that! i had forgotten though
Dude life is life don’t worry bout it!
New mouse button click sound pack :D
You should give your wife the Weedwacker(Bushwacker) 2xRAC5's since she seemed to love RAC5's alot and the wacker's tankiness and slim profile might work in her favor.
I do this but with standard AC2's and 4 standard medium lasers. Stupid fun stuff.
And without a macro I like doing left arm left click, right arm right click. Helps with corners, and by staggering you get a nice stream of dakka.
Try chainfiring the AC2s with one weapons group and then holding down left click with a different group set to group fire. Works like a charm. Of course, you lose cornering ability but I really like it.
There needs to be a bonus for number of trigger pulls
Did you not notice the backstabbing the entire time you were standing still?
You don't have to click for every shot, just hold the button.
i've done cycling ac2's on a jagermech like that, never done the lb2-x that way. don't think i've ever used lb2-x actually.
You could ramp up to XL 255 but leg armour would only be at 44.
Will she use her chosen name from the last Stream (Barbar Ella or smth)?
Baradul , thanks for the videos man , i wonder if the battletech game would be a good fit for a wife stream ?anyway thank you for the amusement
Rotary LBX2?? When did they add that?
Oh I misread the title lol
Commodore Rook lol I think it’s because he has them staggered, so he clicks to make them fire in succession as opposed to all at the same time.
Late to the party MM...already did that right after the new weapons dropped :)
5:24 *realizes the importance of a push still doesn't lead*
where is ROTARY!?
YOU WILL BE SORRY BARADUL!!! YOU WILL BE SORRY!!!!!!!!!!! :)
I hate the skill tree
Those are just lbx 2s eught
Go Canada HE IS USE ING KPH AND KM
Wait, you have a male babysitter? Cool. Never hear of those in the USA.
What? Why not...
It's a social taboo. Men aren't seen as nurturing in the USA, thus a male nanny or babysitter is exceedingly rare. cant wait for another MWO stream with ur wife, shes realy sweet and fun to watch with u
Hep
Running less than a 250 engine is stupid.
Why exactly?
Because the 10th heat sink is 40% less efficient on a 240.
It's cos your wife just misses me Bara. Our connexion was 2 stronk.
Maybe you should go blonde this time, after your wife had your beard copied last time. You know,,... just to honor her, not for our amusement. :)
Lame chain fire for noobs. You should use macro app for this.
Says who? Developers? I do not think so Mr. Saint. Macros are fully acceptable by devs so stop acting like another snowflake ok?
mehhhh. i stopped using my macro software not cause i thought it was cheating or unfair... just... literally unnecessary. i do it all manually and put just as many accurate rounds down range. takes less effort to do it myself than to calculate weapon delay and manage profiles in software.
In other words you need a cheat because you have no skill.
Macros are 100% legal thus they are not considered as cheat. I just love troll idiots like you with my macros.
Your salty comments in game are so tasty!
Legal is questionable lack of skill is real lol.
