The grind of making videos, having most fail and working a permanent job on top of it is becoming almost too intense. Does anyone feel the same?
I have a full time job as a history professor. I put my videos up for my students, then others started to watch them. Since I don't rely on this for income, I more make the videos when I have some extra time. It makes it more enjoyable. It has taken a few years but I am almost at 13K subscribers. I don't make much revenue, but I think the key is enjoying it. If it starts to feel like a grind then its ok to pause for a while.

@divatalk9011 thank you. Very kind of you! It seems so small in YT world. It's also amazing how little revenue you make with getting 1000 views a day. I make more revenue from selling the unit studies that go with my videos. Baby steps!

exactly. I had one of my videos comparing the Napoleon movie to the History of Napoleon get about 15,000 views and only make $75. To really make any serious revenue through views you need to have about 30,000 views DAILY. Which is hard to do for many small one man person channels. I make more money selling the unit studies. @@divatalk9011
I think the best advice is you grow your skills and your channel, and your numbers will grow along the way. If your core focus is money or subs then you have your priorities wrong. They are the reward for hard work and views tell you that you are on the right track 😊❤

Suggestions that help me: Post regularly ( at least 1 or 2 times a week). Visit and comment on 5,10 videos daily ( your comment is your link to your channel). Join a live stream. I'll be Live Saturday night 7pm 😎

One thing that has worked for me is connecting with the homeschool community. They enjoy using my lectures as a free resource. Finding a community that has interest in your content and making more content that they want really helps! I just hit 10K a couple months ago!

Im happy seeing how well im fulfilling my goals. i predominantly rely on experimentation, testing out new tech\tech.
gotten use to cutting the bad monotonous fat in gaming vids more and more, reusing what would be trashed vids with edits to make something of them. testing, experimentation, testing, experimenting and i start judging and critiquing my own vids seeing what better i could or what was perfect and i can carry on for next time.
Always remembering to not self-delude myself. one day i will buy that full version of DRS.

The defining your style piece is probably one of my biggest hurdles right now, however, I am starting to find more of the styles of videos that I like. Maybe, I should start implementing some of that style in my own videos.

This is for small channels: Hi i am i channel with almost 1.5k and the key to doing well from my experience are a few things:
1. Consistancy- Be consistent with your audience. People may love your content, but arent going to subscribe if you post every 3 months. It doesn’t even have to be content the other type of consistency starts at #2
2. Interaction: interact with your audience. Let them know your open for feedback. At the end of the day, your mostly posting for your audience so let them have a say.
I also have 1.5K and I completely agree with everything you said here.
