God, it's enough to make you cry, isn't it? When Chase drops down into the deepest part of her register and sings "Ask the man in your heart for the answers" it's smooth and flawless, something that a lot of good singers can't do.
Just watched this blessing for the umpteenth time and it still makes my heart and eyes go misty. My go to performance and song in 2020 when it seemed the sky was falling.
WOW! I cannot make it through your songs without having to '"turn on the wipers!" Your harmonies are so good! I cannot figure out how you do what you do. I grew up on the great songs of the 60's and 70's. You take them to another level. Absolutely amazing!
Wow!!!!...🖒🖒🖒🖒This to my taste is one of the best recordings of the band ... the sound of the instruments and the great harmony of the choir make a great recording by themselves 🎹🎸🎸🎙🎤👏👏👏👏👏... Maggi on this occasion makes the song a true musical jewel; In addition, the battery has a great sound 👌👌👌👌... your comments are positive and good, I thank you for sharing estavrabaciom and I congratulate you🔶🔷✔💯🙌🙌🙌
I defy any group on the planet in ability to be better than this for solo voice, harmony, perfect notation, timing and instrumentation. And while we're at it, am I the only one that noticed Chase carrying her powerhouse spot for more than four bars...without break or interruption?? Phenomenal! Good reaction, GREAT video! Peace...
I'm still trying to figure out how she does it. I keep listening for her to sneak breaths, but I can't detect any. I've listened to this countless times, and It still blows me away. I think it goes on for about 12 seconds. That is absolutely insane!
He co-wrote the song with John Ford Coley of the group England Dan & John Ford Coley. They were the ones who brought this song to life, it is a truly inspiring song. But yes Todd is a genius.
@@algernon5776 No, the song was on a Utopia album called "Oops! Wrong Planet" (released in 1977) and if anyone else contributed to the song, it would have been one or more of the other members of Utopia: Roger Powell, Kasim Sulton, John "Willie" Wilcox. Interesting story (theory?) though Lol
IMO this is the Absolute Best Cover that the F&F do - Chase's ceiling is really high - as a lead singer I think she is the one with the most potential although Maggie and Sammie are both Awesome - The harmonies as usual are just spot on and the musicians are fabulous
When Todd Rundgren was having some hit singles in the early 1970's, alot of folks thought he was "way out there" with his colored hair and crazy outfits (sometimes).....look at hairstyles/coloring today!! The guy is a musical genious......not only by playing many of the instruments on his albums by himself and then "mixing them", but by his lyrics as well on some songs. I actually like this Foxes & Fossils version better than Todd's original......the lyrics seem "clearer" on this version, if that makes any sense. A few folks have commented that this song has a "Religious" overtone.......Love is the Answer...........which has been taught in churches for 100's, if not 1,000's, of years.
The pitch progressions on his harmonies are not like any I've ever heard. But Rundgren's voice, even mixed, cannot match the perfection of the F&Fs. Not even close.
In all honesty when Chase first came to the group she did get some hate people kept comparing her to Maggie but in all honesty she has been a great addition I really don't think that the group would be the same without her
I absolutely adore Chase. Love her voice and she brings a different element into their vintage sound. Maggie, Sammie, and Chase = 3 point Harmony. The power is in the three. Not to mention of course that Chase is beautiful and that she makes my knees weak when she sings. ( Or it's just my old age. Lol) The group is fabulous and I really feel blessed that Scott King the bass player appreciates my reactions and that I am sharing the Foxes and fossils with a whole new audience and generation.
@@jemntertainment and Chase's range is incredible, not many singer's can go from low to high back to low register like she does and do it with minimal effort and with such ease, I've been following them for year's now, and will continue to follow and support them until either the day I die or the day they decide to hang up the microphones
Chase brings an absolutely different dynamic to the group. Maggie and Sammie can blend their voices like angels but Chase is also capable of just standing up there and belting it, as you just heard, and then can turn right around and do Bonnie Raitt's "I Can't Make You Love Me" and just make you melt. She's something else.
Each of the three girls bring their own talent to this group. F&F would not be the same without any one of them. They really make it look easy. Hopefully around for a long time,
I have a reaction request. There is a Steely Dan Tribute Band on UA-cam named "Brooklyn Charmers." Their cover of the early SD song "Brooklyn owes the charmer under me" is as good as it gets, better IMO even than the original. Check it out! I think it's WONDERFUL!
I agree with you my friend. Quality is what you get with this group. Refreshing to listen to over and over again. I recommend both of their CDs from their merch store. Thank you for being here.
I am sure this is not a true statement but i dont know any group that has had three world class lead singers since Three Dog Night and thats not counting Sammies Dad who is pretty good himself!
You should listen to Darwin's solo work. He and Tim are both excellent! All the band members can certainly carry their own. I digress, however. The girls are spectacular!
Knew you'd like that one. England Dan and John Ford Coley had the hit version of it. Next request : "Chase" channel Rhiannon she sings lead and all the backing parts.
@@robertbates6057 She's something else . She's been battling covid ,I sure hope she comes out of it without any permanent lung damage.Latest word is she's doing better, but the entire family is sick.
I love Foxes and Fossils version of this song. I am more familiar with the England Dan and John Ford Coley version of "Love is the Answer". You should do a reaction video of their Harvest Moon cover. IMHO it's better the Neil Young's version.
I accidentally clicked on your vid looking for Foxes & Fossils. So why is you're trying to make yourself relevant off the backs of Foxes & Fossils? Why don't you do something original, something of your own instead of swoon over their work?
Thanks, I really don't take advice from anybody with less than 6000 subscribers. Not to mention that your just plain flat rude and have no manners. (You display Leftist behavior) So I doubt if your a true Foxes and Fossils fan. Thank you bye bye now!
Technically, it's not a note, or even a NOTE. It's a sustained syllable - many notes - covering about 12 seconds starting at 4:55 in this video. And you're absolutely right, it is an absolutely stunning vocal performance in and of itself within what otherwise would have been a spectacular performance overall. Especially that higher pitched trill that she throws in at the end, just before releasing the note. I can't remember hearing anything like that. Maybe I have, but I think I would have remembered it if I had.
I absolutely love this performance! I believe the F and F version of this song brings a whole new, emotional dimension to the piece. How about that incredibly long note that Chase holds towards the end, wow!

me too, almost. There's something about those harmonies and the overtones of the voices and how it all comes together.
How could you not know this song ? teeny bopper !
I love everything they do. Amazing group.
This group does covers as good or better then the originals.
Beautiful rendition, please the man to stop his comments during your set. It's irritating.
