My sister did FODMAP in 2016 and it really helped her. Ive recently taken a York test which showed my food intolerances and it SHOCKED me that I’m intolerent to garlic and parsley aswell as other things, and since cutting them out my entire tummy has settled down. Might be worth looking into aswell 🤍

As others have mentioned, this does sound like Endometriosis! I spent 9 years trying to get answers and kept thinking it was a stomach issue but after colonoscopy, etc nothing was ever found. I finally learned about Endo and fought to get the laparoscopy to check and sure enough!
It really messes with my stomach, makes me sensitive to a lot of foods, nausea....I pity my boyfriend during my period because I get SO gassy lol
Definitely look into it! I hope you get some relief soon ❤️
Also I should mention, I just found out I have mild scoliosis and apparently there’s an extremely common tie there. Turns out a lot of women I know with Endo have scoliosis too! My mind was honestly blown 🤯

Thanks for sharing, Katie. I've been following a low fodmap diet since January 2021 also and haven't tried to reintroduce foods yet. It helps with the bloating/pain- thank goodness. More tests for me later this month. Sending you good vibes and hope you have great meals. :)

Hi Katie - congrats on getting through the elimination stage! The reintroduction phase can also be really hard - I especially had anxieties about adding things back into my diet, but it's definitely worth it in the end. I'll be really interested to hear about all your go-to snacks and how you find the reintroduction phase too :)

Loved this Katie, I dont know what to do with my diet the hospital put me on a low residue diet back in the summer, since having my gaulbladder out I'm having issues 😔 . Your evening meals looked really yummy, my bellys like yours bug the bloating never seems to go down even keeping a food diary it does follow any pattern it's so frustrating, oh to be able to eat like I used to without having to think about it xxx

Hey! 👋 lovin’ your content as always. Huge fan as you know 💁‍♀️ I spotted other people’s comments and agree it would be worth you chatting to Dr about endometriosis. I have similar issues with food and have been misdiagnosed for SO many things. There are meal plans you can follow to help as anti-inflammatory e.g. gluten free. I find pulses are the worse for me 🌝 hope you keep discovering and find things that help you 💖

As you were talking about your period pains, this could be Endometriosis. I have every symptom you have and I'm now being investigated for that, definitely get some advice or speak to a doctor about that xx

This sounds so much like Endometriosis especially the chronic bloating and how much you suffer with your periods

Just an FYI about the eggs cracking - that happens when the eggs are too cold! So if you take them right out of the fridge and then put them in boiling water they will crack like that. Either take the eggs out of the fridge for a while before cooking them or just store them in the cupboard instead xx

I was diagnosed with IBS just over a year ago and I’ve been trying to self manage it without the low Fodmap diet. I’m put off because so many recipes and meal plans include fish which I don’t eat, so I think I’d struggle! Thanks for making this video though, IBS and gut health needs to be normalised / talked about more.

I’ve said it before but this is probably endometriosis. So many of us get misdiagnosed with IBS for years. It takes on average 7 years to get diagnosed with endo which is ridiculous but you have to have a laparoscopy to diagnosed. Please please look in endo. I was diagnosed aged 18 and have had 3 surgeries so far and IVF for my baby xx

i’m nearly certain you’re suffering from Endometriosis- I have it myself and I get bloating the same as yours. I cut out gluten, caffeine, beans, eggs and maltodextrin and it has helped loads. Please look into Endometriosis!!!

Hope this helped you a lot, i think your skin also looks better in the vlog which makes sense since eating stuff you are intolerant to is bound to cause a break out. (maybe you just had makeup and I'm blind but idk, i think you look healthier overall). Can't wait for the answers!

Random porridge tip - put your oats and water and/or milk in the pan ready and then put in the fridge overnight. They cook quicker and taste creamier. Something we used to do when I worked in a hospital kitchen!

I follow a low fodmap diet and at the start i got migraines and headaches. My doctor told me that during the elimination process your body is detoxing and withdrawals and as a way for the body to react it can give headaches because your body thinks its starving. For me it took w weeks for the headaches to go away.

I also have IBS and any veggie with the skin on may cause irritation to the bowels (peppers, tomatoes, peas, corn,...). I have fewer symptoms when I avoid those.

    Tips for breakfast!
-cook porridge with a mashed banana and date in it. This will make it great!! And add cinnamon if you like it
-nut butters and jam on GF toast?
-roasted baked sweet potato with GF DF yoghurt (coconut? Oat base? With maple syrup, but butter drizzle and pomegranate seeds

You could maybe look into histamine intolerance
No doctors could diagnose me at first until I found my doctor now who immediately thought my symptoms like bloating, also more issues during my periods, digestion problems in general, would be because of histamine intolerance. Maybe this could help you ☺️

I think the IBS may be a side effect of roaccutane. I started getting stomach problems not long after taking it! I was on it around the same time as you. I’ve been taking a supplement called bimuno for a while now I think it has helped me a lot. My stomach pains have improved loads :)

My mum has been thinking of trying low fod map for years but is very hesitant. It sounds like a great system for finding food intolerances.
She is on medication for her IBS so isn't sure if she would get the same results. (Obviously needs to speak to her doctor if she's thinking of trying it) Also put off by it being more expensive, which she's not sure she can afford. 🤔

Hi Cat! My dad has IBS and is on medication for it and did the elimination diet and found quite a few things he can't have. Your mum should definitely speak to the doctor first but the diet it's worth a try - dad has noticed massive improvement when he avoids what he can't have but equally, if once in a while he has something he shouldn't he's ill again. So the diet definitely works, even along with the meds! X

Sometimes I get really bad migraines from gluten free bread. Becareful the gluten free bread has a lot of chemicals and things in it which can really affect people. Also I am sensitive to eggs and some coconut and oat products- you have to sort of see which of the food is triggering you. I used to think my migraines were hormonal but since I took out certain foods I don’t get migraines anymore. 💕
