Hi Christina! Thank you for all of the great videos. I am strongly considering MFW for next school year. I’ll have a 4th, 2nd, and K. I also have a 3yo and two 1yo’s. My question is about the second grade US History curriculum. Will we ever use it if we continue to cycle in children to the family cycle? Or is it just something we won’t ever get to do since we have six kids? I am under the impression that since it will be our first year with MFW, then we will start my 4th and 2nd grader on Exploring Countries & Cultures and my second grader will never do US History. Haha thank you for any help.
Hi Caitlin, your 2nd grader will do US history, but starting in the family cycle Exploration to 1850. My 2nd grader does the supplement program with 1850 to modern times and she is using a lot of the books from the Adventures in US history.

What do you recommend for a 4yo and 5.5 yo?
Hi! Im doing a family cycle next year with a 7th, 6th and 2nd grader. I am planning to do the Bible lessons with all three present, but I am thinking that the Bible memorization will be too much for my second grader. Is there somewhere that I can get a Bible plan for him without buying the 2nd grade curriculum? Just wondering what your thoughts may be on that- I love the sound of the Bible work the little ones are doing so they can learn at their level!
I would just have your 2nd grader join in and not worry if he is memorizing or not. Currently we do bible with all 5 of mine and the younger 3, 2nd grade, kinder and preschool, do not memorize, but still hear the verse daily. We try and find the verse put to a song on UA-cam and that helps with memorizing it for us. Have a blessed school year. 😊
Is this book set up for one grade and which subjects does it include? (As a teacher in Germany this concept is a bit foreign to me) What does the curriculum include? When are you able to take a breather or do housework. it just seems like it is so much to do. You must be really organized. Are you ever at a point when your kids are learning something and you can't explain it to them?
The curriculum has everything you need to explain. 🙂 I use MFW but with really small ones so my housework gets done after lunch while they rest. Laundry gets washed while I'm teaching then I'll take 3minutes while they're doing a colouring page or something to hang it out to dry. Everyone finds their own style for how to squeeze those things into their families. 🙂
I read your question again. This might clarify. The family cycle can be picked up for any grade 2-8. You just have to chose your own math and language arts.
The curriculum is for bible, history, science, art and music.
