Thanks for sharing this recipe! We have had our Vitamix for several years but recently purchased the Aer Disc container. My husband makes pour over coffee and uses this to make froth for the topping. I'm using this for my whipped coffee. I'm glad I found out how to use the Aer Disc for the whipped coffee. Soo much easier!
This is a great recipe for MOTHER’S Day Brunches. It looks so ELEGANT!!! and yet it’s just using the same ingredients for dull cups of coffee. Yum, even I might like Dalgona Coffee.
🥰🥰🥰. I made this today and used hot milk (winter, cold…😊). It’s wonderful! I didn’t have a glass mug but will get one because of how beautiful it is. The foam wasn’t quite as firm as yours (no upside down test lol) but I attribute that to living at a high altitude; it starts foaming up immediately. I ended up pouring the results into a large glass and watched it settle into two layers. The foam lasts quite a while. I’m now addicted and will probably be bouncing off the wall later. One could add a shot of Baileys or Kahlua for an evening treat (decaf). Thank you!
Wow I really enjoyed reading your post about the Dalgona Coffee! It's quite an interesting and fun to drink to make. The Kahlua idea sounds great, especially during the holidays! 😍
Just made my first dalgona, thank you for this great video! I love that your videos make things really easy & clear to follow, and you make it a fun experience too. Many thanks to you, Henry!!!
I would say so because much of the foam is created due to the dense amount of instant coffee. Some recipes for Dalgona Coffee use 4 TBS of sugar and some use only 2TSP of sugar. Mine uses 2TBS so it's not too sweet. The result appears to be the same for all recipes so I think sweetener substitutes may work, but I haven't tried it. Thanks for watching! 😊
Hello, Henry, this is the video I have been waiting for. Thank you!! Do I need this special air container or my regular container would work as well ? I have tried the Dalgona coffee using hand blender, it was worked. Lol.
Hi Amy! I always love seeing you post. I did some recipe testing and while you "can" turn the coffee liquid into a creamy texture it won't foam up with the standard Vitamix container blades. The Aer Disc creates that Air into the mixture and puffs up the coffee into that rich foam. That's why your hand blender can do this, but yes it does take a lot of work and time. I listed a few things the Aer Disc container can do besides foams so if you see a benefit or need for it then go for it. But it's $144.95 so that's why you should make sure you will use it for everything it can do. Thank you so much for always supporting me. Luv ya!! 😍
Blending With Henry I will check out the Aer Disc container to see if that’s something I need. I used my regular container to make this Delgona coffee, it didn’t work. I went back to hand blender. Lol. Thank you for the reply.
I had huge issues duplicating this at first until I added a few ice cubes after the hot dissolving step. Most of the time Dalgona is made with cold water so I suspect this is the reason. The cubes didn’t really get into the foam too much and the result was very stable. We had ours atop chocolate milk for decadence.
Interesting. The majority of recipes I checked out use hot water simply for the reason to dissolve the coffee and sugar. It's more difficult to do that with cold water. Great to hear that you managed to find a way to work for you but my recipe should've worked.
I know right? It's much faster this way. I don't want to spend a long time whipping ingredients for a simple drink recipe. Thanks as always for supporting me Lea Ann!!
Lea Ann Savage I got my Aer container yesterday.. I love it! I made milk frothing, made some peach cream dessert in no time. So I really suggest to go for it. You will love it ...I will try latte tomorrow
Unfortunately I didn't get any deal. I paid the full $250 for it. Looks like the price went up to $279.95. I can assure you even at $279.95 I wouldn't think twice about paying for it. Henry, I have an ice cream compressor and was wondering if I whipped up my base mix in the AER, if that would give me a more smoother and silky ice cream. Anybody else know?
I would say that AER Disc wouldn't help in this situation. Just like when meringue is created by whipping air into egg whites you have to fold the whipped mixture into other ingredients to maintain a light and airy consistency. Whipping air into the base mixture of your ice cream will only result in the mixture being deflated once your ice cream maker begins to churn the mixture because it will be over-mixed.
Hi Penny! That's a broad question. Please reach out to me via email at the following link and let me know what you will be using it for. I'll be happy to help you choose the right machine. www.blendingwithhenry.com/ask-henry
I tried this about 12 different times before playing with the speed and blending times.............18 attempts and it never worked (bummer!!). I used the aer disc container on the Ascent 3500. I wonder if the failures have anything to do with the fact that the instant coffee I used was freeze-dried (Folgers Classic Roast)? Henry: may I ask exactly what brand of instant coffee you used?
Hi Kevin! Thanks for reaching out. I don't generally talk about brands of products I use for specific reasons but I will say when testing this recipe I tried different types of instant coffee (even generic) and the results were the same as in the video. Sorry this isn't working out for you. Not sure why that is. You're using the same machine as I did in the video and I did not do anything special behind the scenes. @@jenniferr2087 Hi again Jennifer! Thanks so much for your feedback. I meant to ask you earlier, are you using the AER Disc container? Speed 6-7 are generally the safe speeds when it comes to creating foams. Any faster and it will break down the mixture. Too slow and it won't aerate.

This looks great! Can the instant coffee be replaced with real espresso?
Thank you! I've read online that it could be done but I haven't tried it. Currently the recipe around the web is instant coffee.

Oh you can use any brand. They are all the same for this type of recipe.
Can the Aer disc make coconut whipped cream?
Coconut milk needs proteins or a stabilizer for it to work, both of which it does not contain, but can be added.
