Great job covering both the companies and the "grade" of products from each. For grapples in general, dual cylinder is a "must have" for longevity and real safety handling larger length loads. For "style", the key question is whether you want to grab loose brush OR handle logs. The style with longer lower underbite teeth are best for logs. The styles with equa-length top/lower arms are best for brush/loose material. The "root rake" can handle stuff in-between and dig into the earth. FWIW, with any tractor with loader capacity over 1500lbs, the biggest factor is steel strength. You'll bend the heck out of any grapple with that much hydraulic force. But, if you get a grapple in a package deal, don't despair. Any grapple is better than no grapple!

I have a sub-compact tractor so none of the grapples are really built for a tractor that small.....and the prices are ridiculous regardless which brand you go with....plus on top of the cost you have to factor in shipping which is also very ridiculous....I've found I can lift a lot of stuff with just the pallet forks and skip the $3k+ price tag of a grapple that is way too heavy for the tractor. 200+ pounds for a grapple takes most of the lift capacity of a small tractor away, so they're not very useful at that point.

I feel this is good for the person that has a lot of time and money. To me you could rent a commercial grinder and do everything big and small in one day. I couldn’t see me purchasing this it appears too anemic. Just saying Hank don’t get annoyed with me. You need to spend more time with Gina’s Chickens. They need you. 😊

Here’s my opinion on root rake grapples…stop trying to purchase the widest grapple you can get. You don’t need it. It’s not a bucket, where the larger you have, the more material you can move. A 50 inch root rake grapple can grab pretty much the same amount of material as a 72 inch version. As long as the grapple can get around the material to clamp down it’s gonna do its job. And as far moving logs go, some of the best log grapples are less than 36 inches wide. My point is the smaller the width the less steel, and the less steel means less weight being taken from your overall lift capacity.

Never understood why some landmen have such a low regard of keeping their land and machinery taken care of. When you see a place that looks trashy you know the mind set is one of non caring, no pride of self or land. Like you, we throw nothing away but organized and under sheds. Building are all painted and secure. Our land is our life so we take care of it so it will always be there for our future generations. Land is the only permanent there is besides our God. You do good work by the way

It also depends on the size of tractor you have. Now when I had my 5075 JD you bet I had a strong grabber that it pull up trees .Now I have a JD 1025 R and a small Grapple. And it works great. Now I’m fixing to sale all my tractor and the implements, plus the 21 foot trailer. Out of the farm business.

Good morning Hank. My first choice, after doing much research, was the 'Everything Attachments' grapple, but they had some issues and actually became unavailable; not sure about now. My 2nd choice was the 'Homestead Implements' Pinnacle grapple. I really liked that it was made from AR450. HOWEVER, the very first time I used it, I was picking up some pine 10" rounds and later discovered one of the two 'protection plates' in front one of the hydraulic cylinders dented, or 'deformed'. I realize both of those plates protect the hydraulic cylinders and did its job, but didn't think they should 'bend' / deform as easy as the one did. When I inspected these protection plates closer, I found them to be way too thin IMHO, and should be at least 2x or 3x as thick. They aren't that large and wouldn't add much weight to increase the strength of them.

I ordered a ground ripper from Titan , I got a ring worth less than ripper. Titan scammers got me.

I have a BAUMALIGHT 24 used on my ‘92 1620 & ‘93 1520 FORD Compact Hydro Tractors, 22 & 18.5 PTO-HP respectively. I also had to trim the PTO shafts & guards before use. There was no trouble setting up the cutting flywheel perpendicular to the ground surface at such cutting height as shown in the manual. This keeps the universal joints at each end of the PTO shaft in close x-axis alignment when under load for longevity. I believe the setup, with top of flywheel tipped severely towards your tractor, you have in your video, is improper although possibly your lightweight stump grinder may call for what you did. Please report on this to your audience. My manual also stated that the 2 flywheel bearings were shipped dry and to grease the zerk fittings before first use to grind stumps. One of the zerks was loose, the threads were stripped both on the zerk and the bearing housing. I had to retap the housing and install a new zerk to grease one bearing. I called the Canadian supplier who confirmed they are merely a reseller of a Chinese manufacturer’s product(s). The access to the slip clutch mechanism and the mounting pin to the stumper are laughable and, not practical on mine. I’ve made arrangements to replace the slip clutch & PTO latch pin with a pull back PTO collar and shear pin. The slip clutch only slipped twice in 3 seasons of use on hard maple and native cherry stumps. Thus shear pin use will not be a burden compared to annual slip clutch adjustments, testing, readjustment-UGH! My BAUMALIGHT is now 3 years in service and is OK to demolish 16”+ stumps providing the ground surface slope is out too severe. Seeing what is going on behind the operator during stump grinding is another matter. A spotter &/or a wifi camera makes a big difference in my productivity. Product design, steel fabrication and welding are very good quality in my view (retired professional engineer) but, all bearings, pins, cutter teeth, PTO shaft-slip clutch-PTO lock pin, zerks, etc. are outsourced from other Chinese suppliers to assemble this product as typical in final manufacturing and assembly in my experience.

Not a bad job for a hour worth of work. It could last a while.

I have work the TYM 100 HP tractors and they worked flawlessly. Fuel consumption is far better than John Deere could ever be and holds their own with the International (not Case/IH) tractors I have.

you need some bigger rocks on the bottom, plus you need to build some kind of channel to redirected the water? if that load is worth $350.00, I don't think you got your money's worth, just saying!

Another con to me was having to move tractor forward and backwards instead of being able tot move grinder side to side.😊

This is something that I would like to have, but Baumalight does not have it on their website yet. I am curious about the pricing on it.

Best of luck with it. I will be looking for a follow-up after more use. I purchased the 1P24, knocked out 28 stumps of all sizes with ease. Moved to 29 and the shaft snapped behind the slip clutch. Since i uncrated myself and installed myself (as you did) the warranty was voided. They said i should have had the dealer install it, that even surprised the dealer. I have some spare cutters if you need them.

The grinder works great. Nice to have that option for a small sub compact tractor. Thanks for demonstrating it Hank.

Hey Hank what's up man how you been doing you and the fam there lately I'm doing good so far I'm hanging in there with everything I appreciate the thoughts and prayers that everyone has sent it means a lot it's pretty cool being able to watch these videos you bring out and it's awesome that you give advice on different tools to get used on tractors that you use personally on your property to do work or whether you're helping out friends it's really awesome that a lot of times you do stuff out of the kindness of your heart and not expect pay in return because the thing of it is we don't have a lot of people in this world that will do things for others and don't always expect compensation or money back if we would have more people like that in this world I believe that we'd have a lot more kindness and compassion than we do now
