Great question! We thought Base Las Torres a little bit easier but Laguna de Los Tres was way more enjoyable of a hike with way better views along the way!
amazing video! Im going to El Chalten early March next year. questions- how safe to hike solo for both laguna de los tres and laguna torre? easily marked? also how many days were you in El Chalten? where did you stay? TIA
Unfortunately we dont have any specific hiking shoe recommendations but we would suggest looking for ones that sit above the ankles! It protects from rolling your ankles.
@@LaurenJasonI’m going in January (2025) as well but I’m nervous I won’t have the strength to climb up or down that incline. I have noodle legs. Was it not too hot? January is peak summer there. How many hours did it take RT? And thanks for the bug repellent reminder as I am a magnet for mosquitoes. That was really helpful info!
@@WriterusAeternus It was a tough climb especially at the end, getting up to the first ridge overlooking Laguna de Los Tres! Take your time, and you can start with the easier hikes at the beginning of your trip and work your way to this one, given you get enough rest. It wasn’t actually too hot but wear layers! You might shed some clothes on the last stretch with the steep incline, but need to put them back on at the top. It gets windy in Patagonia throughout the summer months. But it’s not as hot as you might think! Round trip it should take about 8-10 hours. For us it took about 9-10 going leisurely with lots of photo taking and filming along the way! Hope you have an amazing time!
@@WriterusAeternus It actually wasn’t bad as the ground isn’t slippery! Of course, during and after rain that would be a different story. Be careful if that’s the case for you! We just used our hands sometimes for the scrambling parts, we do recommend hiking poles for this hike if you can get or bring some!

Nice Video. Did you prefer Laguna de Los Tres or Mirador Las Base Torres? Which was easier?

Thanks a lot for the reply. Which had a better view at the end?

Yes we felt like both trails were well marked so that shouldn’t be an issue at all! We stayed at an Airbnb in El Chalten for 3 nights!
@ great. I will be hiking solo and hope to bump into other hikers on the same trails. Thanks a mil!
Are there any hiking shoes that you can recommend for that trails?

What month is your hike?
We went in January!

@ thank you for your details. I hope I will be able to get to the top.
Okay but what was it like coming down that steep incline? Did you have to slide down your butt?

@ thank you for your reply! I will look into walking sticks/poles.
