That's the way it appears to me! It's sad when men with lives and children, friends and other family are used as pawns. Every service member understands they could die, but if they do, their death should mean something, not just a pawn for dirty politicians who never go themselves or offer up their family members. It makes me angry.

We've been in Jordan for a while. Back when I was still serving in 2012 some of my buddies would get sent there for deployment.

It's sick care, they only treat the symptoms because there is no money in the cure. What we need is a platform of health care, where we treat the cause of what ails us to stop or remove it from happening.
This is how they are treating security, foreign policy and pretty much everything else of significance at large.

To keep the Russians at bay. US has been fighting a proxy war with Russia in Syria.

This was a cockup by command and control. The drone followed one of our drones back to the base. This is a tactic that goes back to WWII in the Pacific (attack on the Yorktown at Midway) and we didn't defense it.
Why are we still there?
Because the Russians are still there.
The Russians were promised 50% of the Conoco oil field revenue if they kicked ISIS and the Kurds out. So, we promised the Kurds all of it's revenue if they helped us hold it. They've done their part for us in three wars. Abandoning allies is the most repulsive stain possible.

The problem with the Eagle Pass situation Mike is that there is another border crossing 1/2 mile from there with NO TXNG or barbed wire.
Not to mention the other 70+ openings in the fence, Eagle pass was simply a convenient collection point for CBP and other DHS agencies to ferry these people into the country after providing them with recourses.
Not to mention Arizona and California who don't care
That's a true statement. The importance of Eagle Pass is that it represents a giant middle finger in the face of the corrupt Biden administration. And insane Joe is such a megalomaniac that he can't stand anyone publicly questioning his authority. The Eagle Pass standoff has given the Governors of Conservative states a chance to show solidarity.

Mike, how do you feel about CBP agents who participated in this being held accountable for human trafficking? I agree we need to hold the Biden admin primarily accountable, but what about the agents that were upholding the policy? They were "only doing their job", but should have known better. When I was in the military, we had to take LOAC and human trafficking training every year. Don't they have any kind of human trafficking training they take every year? So not only were they trained no to do it, but they did it anyway for a paycheck.

I remember being in Baghdad 2006 we couldn’t go into Sadr City because “politics”.
Those service members shouldn't be there. What is tragic is that we have a government that puts troops where they have no legitimate reason to be there. They are using our military as the enforcement arm of big business and Israel. I have great sympathy for the soldiers and their families, but we shouldn't be there. War is a racket! What a waste of life.

I served in Iraq from 21-22 and we got hit with drones almost everyday and our roe was you can only shoot when authorized or if you life was in danger from 50m away or closer
