2025 is my year to save. My mantra this year is going to be "Do you want it or do you need it" I've been decluttering and getting rid of "stuff". It is such a freeing feeling.
Us too! We actually decluttered our entire house in 2024 and now we are saving money, just from that. After we got rid of so much stuff that made empty promises we don't click the buy button near as much! So, like you, 2025 is the year of saving!

Oh Lydia dealing with a possible epilepsy diagnosis is so scary. My 11 yr old is epileptic. For 3.5 years now. We haven’t been seizure free for more than a week yet. Last weekend he had a seizure while eating and choked. Turned blue and stopped breathing. We had to call 911! Thankfully my husband literally saved him. Heimlich and cpr. The Neuro drs are so expensive and we are probably loosing our insurance this year. Hugs.

Thank you for the honesty, 2024 was a tough year indeed, glad we both made it out alive) As for the possible epilepsy - there are several reasons for that even if you get the diagnosis. One of the reasons - traumatic birth process and then there is a big chance of getting rid of the epilepsy for good with patience and constant medication. That happened to me, took 12+ years to cure, but it happened. Still hope it is not epilepsy with your daughter and everything is going to be just fine.

My sister passed away last May and I was devastated and just getting up every day - especially the first two months after her passing - was one of the most difficult things I’ve done. So, I appreciate this video and it gave me the comfort to start slow Thai year being more intentional with my actions and protecting my mental health.

I agree with you 2024 was too hard. I dealt with too much death, the firstof many being my mom. My new year I hope to live in contentment and joy. I'd love to get back to reading and have financial goals I'll work to meet. My prayer was to begin each day grateful.

2024 was the hardest year of my life (which is quite an accomplishment, as I’ve had many really difficult and traumatic experiences over the years.) I feel like I’m only just starting to recover. But I kept myself and my kids safe, and my child who was hospitalised for 5 months has continued to get better and started college. We hold ourselves to such a standard but sometimes the achievement is to make it out alive and with the important stuff intact. Here’s to 2025. Thanks for your videos, really grounding and relatable. 2024 was a better year for me than 2023 was. I barely survived 2023. 202r wasn't anything to write home about but it wasn't so stressful, it was smoother. Hopefully 2025 will be even better. I'd like to have a good year. The healthcare system is difficult to navigate. My son has LGS, a rare severe form of epilepsy. So i know all about the struggle with EEGs. His neurologist ordered an MRI a year ago and we have had the MRI scheduled twice and both times they canceled it while we were there at 5am after driving over an hour to the hospital. We're about to schedule it for the 3rd time. The childrens hospital is booked out 4 to 6 months in advance so its a lot of waiting

Finishing is more important than where (you were ahead of everyone who started, but didn’t finish and way ahead of all of us that never started). This is something to be proud of. I had to laugh when you shared Jen and Jill’s (Frugal Friends podcast) book that came out today 🥳 because I was the one you had the “conversation” with on a prior video about it not being out until January. 😂 I’ve read it (got an early copy in December) and listened to it today. Our healthcare system sucks. Did you know if we go in a nursing home we have to earn time out (go home for a holiday). It’s jail for the old. My brother got wrongly diagnosed for months then died within 2 weeks of lymphoma. 48 with a 5 year old. I don’t know what 2025 holds but I’m over people. No drama. No clutter. I seriously could sell everything I own and start new.

I went into 2024 praising the Lord and I came out praising the Lord even more! It was a very hard year for my hubby and I medically, Take care of yourself don’t put it off for anyone else not even your children, as parents we just brush off things and prioritize our families! 2025 I plan to walk closer to God!
2024 was a differently rough year for us as well. My husband changed jobs 3 times, 2 of them with difficult work schedules. We are looking forward to a year of quietly completing goals and enjoying being a family.

2024 was a bittersweet year for me too! I had some difficult situations to work through, and then my best friend passed away suddenly in August. We were so very close… And I miss her every day. I still woke up every day and did the hard work that needed to be done… Just like you. May all of us have a blessed, healthy, happy and personally productive new year.
"I made it out alive." I feel ya. What you probably don't realize is that you've helped many people. You had your surgery was about a month before i had mine and it really calmed me seeing you talking and seeming almost back to normal so soon after your surgery. Thank you for that. I'm sure you've positively impacted way more people than you'll ever know.
I had a rough year and I feel like this year I will be cleaning up and recovering from last year. I am taking a break from college for a few months and it sucks but I need a short break after starting to homeschool all of my kids. Wish you the best year and God bless

For 2024, I'm most proud of traveling solo. It was empowering and gave me the impetus to do more traveling in the future. I have decided in the last 2 years that I'm saving money for travel. I will wear old clothes, thrifted clothes, drive my 20 year old car, not go out to eat, etc etc. On a really meager salary, I have managed to save enough to go on a trip this year. A big trip. That is my bright spot for 2025. Other than that, I'm just laying low and especially hoping to keep my health insurance.

Yes having a special needs child can burn you out. Stay stronger I know I have ac22 yrbold son with Autism . We were se t yrs ago to a specialist to all test to see if he was having migraine. There is good days and ruff days. Yesterday I got sadness of a very good friend of mine he passed. I have cried and cried. We talked about everything. I will miss him
2024 was a complete dumpster fire. Plumbing collapsed in January, brother in law passed unexpectedly in March, Mom passed in October…lots of stressful and sad situations. Through all of it though, God was good, and God is STILL good. Praying for a calmer 2025. But no matter what happens…God is good!!!
I'm sad that it was an awful year for you, however I must admit that you are the only other person besides me who did not have an awesome 2024 and it is kind of comforting ☹ I feel less nuts.
I hope that the findings for your daughter are the same. They were for my autistic son in a similar situation. They thought he was having absent seizures, It was just autistic overwhelm, Which we knew he was experiencing anyway.
