Some things: -This run was done on March 25th, 2021. My first run of the day was a 38:03, which had beat my previous PB by 11 seconds. I was hyped as fuck. I reset 2 more runs, then got the run you see here, a 37:57. Basically I got a back to back WR if you don't count the resets lol. -Both of my runs on this day had amazing rats. They were both first try, with the proxy occurring at the first possible rat movement. I cannot understate that this was INSANELY BLESSED RNG from their movement, as they literally ran straight where I wanted them to perfectly, with no twists or curves or turnarounds or anything. -This run is 100% improvable. Missed momma proxy, along with some shotty execution total up to ~20-30 seconds of timesave that I reckon is totally possible on a really good run. My rats were good but they dont need to be in order to get a good proxy. Theres also a turnaround and roll strat for the proxy which can be more lenient, and nuance to the light manipulation from walk up and jump charge. Not to mention, there's also the dragon head wall glide version of coveless which is 100% humanly possible. -I'm moving back to 120% now that I have achieved my goal of breaking the minute barrier in any%. Now it's time to go back to my roots and break an even harder minute barrier, the 1:21 in 120%. (edit: i did it...now its time for 1:20 in 120%) -You may be wondering why I don't just move onto a different category or game now that I have "really good" WRs in this game. The truth is that this game is not fully optimized and it still has so much to give as a speedrun. After i get a 1:20 in 120% I am considering revisiting any%, trying vortex%, or moving onto a different speed game (zera: myths awaken??? ratchet and clank??) -Yes I have played reignited trilogy. Using phones before bed can be a bitch. Anyways real quick Spyro was the first videogame that really got me into gaming back in 1st grade. PS1 games were special growing up. This was after Blazing Dragons on the Sega Saturn mind you; also a fun speedrun if you're into Monty Python. You're the best Spyro player in the world and I am looking forward to you pushing any%, even if your heart like you say is in 120. Rewatching this masterpiece was fun so thanks. That Gnorc Cave skip still gives me chills. Spyro is awesome in that the hardest trick is a minute before the clock stops. Runs feel so gripping up until then, esp. when you start to understand gem placement and whats required to save runs when you inevitably miss routed gems.
