Cool idea. The only problem is it rather limits the kind of baits you can use. Even if the bait does not get soggy, there is a risk of the box closing without a mouse in it. Some mice don’t also go fully into the box to chew the bait, so they can get sliced in half or at least trapped very painfully.
Man, this trap is so cool. The fact that the bait is also the trigger makes this trap one of the most interesting trap designs ever featured on this channel Good job
Levi Enríquez Compared to the abismal difference there is between this content-rich channel and other trash vlogger channels. Yes, one could consider this channel a hidden gem.
This would work really well with some thinner pretzel sticks. Also instead of entering through the top the trap could have a hole in the side of the smaller box. This would also allow you to put the bait farther from the entrance and prevent the mouse from triggering the trap while half outside the box.
Awesome!! Thank you Jerome!! I love how the bait is the trigger. It allows the mouse to get nice and relaxed and comfortable in there while chewing before getting trapped. Great design!
This is nice. Very simple, no extra mechanisms - the bait itself is the trigger. Aside from dent holes, the improvement you can do to it is to change the pretzel into a much smaller one like a peanut. Peanuts tend to roll very easily and they are strong enough to hold the force of rubber band. When the mouse touches the peanut, it will roll off the pin and the trap will close.
I like the traps that the mouse has to ‘destroy’ to activate. This also seemed to work well with one of the latest guillotine style where the mouse had to chew the string to trigger it.
Your channel is very addicting! Your videos are very easy to binge and I was almost late to school while watching one of them! Your pet mice are very cute and your a great You tuber and deserve more subscribers!! Keep going your vids are awesome!!!!! 👏
I've also used a pretzel as bait and trigger before. A straight chocolate-coated pretzel propping up a casserole dish. The mouse would chew on the pretzel and be caught under the casserole dish. I met my match eventually, though, in a tiny field mouse that was able to nibble off all the chocolate without chewing through the pretzel...
That was awesome! I would also suggest making the trigger more sensitive by using a thinner pretzel stick. This trap has a lot of potential. I would love to see an upgrade.
And I was just thinking about 3d printing some traps the other day... This is hilarious the way it works. You can easily 3d print an enclosed box so you won't need a piece of clear plastic and screws just to make it simple and maybe disposable.
I want a mouse trap that's an endless maze it should have one entrance with spikes that let it go in but not out and traps built in like electric panels, crushers, and a bladed pendulum, etc... Also it's called the labyrinth
I think make it much wider, same pretzel length but it should wider space should encourage mice to team up on the pretzel. Also you want have to twist the band.
It looks like half the time the closing mechanism will pinch the mouse in half. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing: I want a trap that cuts the mouse in half, electrocutes the top half, and immolates the bottom before flinging the whole thing into a brick wall via a trebuchet.
In addition to the advice given in the video, i would suggest making the trap bigger if you want to catch bigger creatures...but the bait to be used is still something I'm thinking of...
Very interesting video! Well done, and very informative! One of the few UA-cam videos that I actually watched all the way through to the very end. Fascinating!
In the UK we have a food product called 'Twiglets' which are thinner and would take less time to chew through. However they taste of Marmite - so the mice may find them repulsive?
Hmmm, seeing it might take 30 seconds or so worth of total nibbling time on that pretzel, I wonder if he could modify this design style into a slightly larger triple decker 'Zen' house with the pretzel on the top floor? Add a micro bait trail leading up the 2 flights of ramps along with bonus bait in all 4 corners of the top floor(?) to hopefully catch at least 2, or maybe even 3 little mice in one snap?
Very nice! I like the concept. But it does take a while to chew through the pretzel, including it might take several mice to do it. Very fun idea, though!
Nice. If it isn't one of those self resetting multi traps, what's the hurry. The drama of the slow pretzel is great. I was expecting more than 1 mouse in there when it sprang.
maybe even use a couple thinner stick pretzels, then just one or so would need to be broken to trigger. I imagine 1 wouldn't be enough to hold the tension back

I thought you were about to say thank you to the mouse for participating
Frontalbarley 27 me too lol.
Frontalbarley 27 same
Lol😀😀
He deserves it, salute to the mouse
liberation, free speech, and the vote for all mice.

Yeah, the one mouse was chewing on it with its butt sticking out. I'm glad he didn't test it with his pet mice. It could've ended in tragedy.
WAIT THIS IS 7 HOURS AGO AND THE VIDEO CAME OUT 21-20 AGO
Different time zone? Idk
it was unlisted
You should do it and post the video.....
Man, this trap is so cool. The fact that the bait is also the trigger makes this trap one of the most interesting trap designs ever featured on this channel
Good job
I love how surprised he was when the trap just closed.
I love how your comment time-traveled
vojtasjedyny thats why they call it a trap you know
It feels good to be part of a secret youtube channel

cool a mouse trap that need bait cartridge, next comercial hit!
MrRithexTheSilent
"Hidden gem" and "secret youtube channel" are not the same.
Tz don't it
Use a mouse trap made up of Mouse Trap boardgame parts.
He actually did that
3.25 pile of dog poop in the top right corner
Outdoors & DIY A nice wet one at that. 😥😧🤢
lol poop
Outdoors & DIY Damn....you beat me to it! 😁💩
You can't say that is dog poop due to all of the wildlife in his area.
It could also be human. You can't rule out THAT possibility.

Nibbles Nibbles Jerome*
Obs Thanks! I fixed it 🤗
Needs a hamster wheel on every live trap that Jerome designs. Gives Jerry something to do all night long.
This is nice. Very simple, no extra mechanisms - the bait itself is the trigger. This Channel has really became one of my favorites
Of all the mouse traps you have featured here and on your website this one is the best. Good job to Gerome in Seattle for inventing it!
"theyre not only delicious but make great mouse trap bait" - best line of the whole video
Now we need a pickled pepper picker, peck-sized.
Add some spikes on one end and it becomes more interesting. No need for vent holes.
To be frank I relate to this mouse. I too am willing to spend the night in a sweaty orange box for the sublime taste of a pretzel.
This is a great trap design, well done.
I like the traps that the mouse has to ‘destroy’ to activate. This also seemed to work well with one of the latest guillotine style where the mouse had to chew the string to trigger it.
Out of all the traps Shawn showed us. This is my favorite.
designing traps is really fun
Your channel is very addicting! Your videos are very easy to binge and I was almost late to school while watching one of them! Your pet mice are very cute and your a great You tuber and deserve more subscribers!! Keep going your vids are awesome!!!!! 👏
You should make more of these fan made traps!
Very very cool. Let the 3d printing design wars begin!
Very clever, well done!
I so love Mousetrap Mondays.
This is actually REALLY creative
Video felt alittle bit rushed towards the end up it was great! What a clever idea

Taking a moment to recognize your poor finger getting trapped in each episode.
Love these 3d printed trap ideas! This is awesome!
I cannot stop watching your videos. Great job
Good job
I love how you let the mouse go!!
That was awesome! I would also suggest making the trigger more sensitive by using a thinner pretzel stick. This trap has a lot of potential. I would love to see an upgrade.
That poo tho.
ikr!
That's how you know his videos are real: he doesn't censor crap!
its a wet rock

Also it's called the labyrinth
The amazing power of 3D printing and pretzels 😎
There wasn't a link to download the print-a-pretzel code, though.
That's the simplest and most effective trap I've seen. Great idea!
AWESOME trap Jerome!!
Put some space at the top of the ”drawer” to make the space more breathable and to make aure that the tail doesn’t get cut off
it's like sitting on the branch you're cutting with a chainsaw... gets you every time 👍
Am I the only one who loves those T Joes pretzel sticks? I have two bags as we speak!
I think make it much wider, same pretzel length but it should wider space should encourage mice to team up on the pretzel. Also you want have to twist the band.
You're like the Steve Irwin of Rodents. The Rodent Hunter.
It loook like there is a dog poop in the background at the end scene lol
It looks like half the time the closing mechanism will pinch the mouse in half.
Not that that's necessarily a bad thing: I want a trap that cuts the mouse in half, electrocutes the top half, and immolates the bottom before flinging the whole thing into a brick wall via a trebuchet.
Really cool design 👍
Great job Jerome !!
GOD bless !!
Thumbs up.

Very creative fun design for this channel!
Very interesting video! Well done, and very informative! One of the few UA-cam videos that I actually watched all the way through to the very end. Fascinating!
I love it because it doesn't harm the mice. Awesome design.
He is dam creative with his trap, I wondered why he needed pretzel sticks but now my mind exploded, if I was a mouse, I would've never saw it coming
Wow! Who could have guessed that my day would only feel complete with a mouse trap video before bed.
You have the most interesting channel in the whole youtube. My favourite trap so far is the french trap.
Very unique design! Awesome trap Jerome.
Nicely done Jerome. I think it is just bound to the type of bait and if they are soft/old might trip sooner
That is simply brilliant and brilliantly simple. Great job!
In the UK we have a food product called 'Twiglets' which are thinner and would take less time to chew through. However they taste of Marmite - so the mice may find them repulsive?
good job Jerome!
Wow you guys are so good to make and send shawn these traps thankyou
Simple yet elegant!
Hmmm, seeing it might take 30 seconds or so worth of total nibbling time on that pretzel, I wonder if he could modify this design style into a slightly larger triple decker 'Zen' house with the pretzel on the top floor? Add a micro bait trail leading up the 2 flights of ramps along with bonus bait in all 4 corners of the top floor(?) to hopefully catch at least 2, or maybe even 3 little mice in one snap?
great idea Jeromme
that mouse has one hell of a story to tell his grandkids
Nice work, Jerome!
"Thank you , Jerome." I seriously thought he was going to thank the mouse for participating.
Very nice! I like the concept. But it does take a while to chew through the pretzel, including it might take several mice to do it.
Very fun idea, though!
My favorite live trap so far ! This was really good. 😎 👏
You could also chip off a few pieces small pieces of pretzel to help the mice out that way baseball have such a large area of pretzel to chew
I would improve this trap by installing nails like an Iron Maiden!
Wow this one's great! I like how it's so simple.
Wow, keep going with these 3d traps.
Mouse trap Monday?... but it's Saturday.
Mike Nosa whaaaaaa
That’s because the title of the channel is
Wait for it...
Click bait
Mike Nosa LOL
Its Monday in Australia... we're living in the future.
or you're still in the past 😉
Omg that add achuly helps removing all the adds
Good on Jerome.
Jerome's 3D Printed Pretzel Prison reminds me quite a bit of Vinnie Vole's Existential Nightmare.
It should also have a slit by the entrance to prevent the tail from being cut off.
That other mouse looked at the trapped mouse like,"I freaking told you so".
simple design love it
I found this channel yesterday and then I became addicted to these videos. A reason more to stay woke until 3 AM
Jerome, I think it's a great idea.
It works well.
That is VERY creative.
"3-D Printed Pretzel Prison" sounds like a childrens' video game lmao
Damn I love your vids bro can’t wait for more
Nice. If it isn't one of those self resetting multi traps, what's the hurry. The drama of the slow pretzel is great. I was expecting more than 1 mouse in there when it sprang.
This is nice. Hope there is a larger version so you could catch more than 1 mouse. Is there also for big rats?
(Plot twist) mouse chews rubber band instead.
Gleu the bleu part to the left part
its 4am, im eating cheetos and watching mouse traps. life's great! absolutely love this trap
thank you for letting the little guy go.
Such a cool idea! A very creative trap :D
My mouse passed away yesterday so this reminded me of him thank you for cheering me up
Seems like a better prop for night vision motion camera capture then mouse capture.
Looks like the mouse was trying to make chocolate covered pretzels
Clever. If you don't have a 3d printer you could make one out of a couple of tin cans pretty easily.
I like this trap because the mice don't die.
Love your vids man
maybe even use a couple thinner stick pretzels, then just one or so would need to be broken to trigger. I imagine 1 wouldn't be enough to hold the tension back
