    Version 2 of the Hampack is in work. A transceiver has been found which fits my ideas. From now on it will take some time to do a proper design and produce a pre production model. I will keep you informed. I am still open for ideas and your needs. Feel free to send me an email dh3pm@web.de.

      Wishing you all the best! An option to choose a faceplate, cut out for any of the various popular radios in this segment would be great! Have you thought of going the Kickstarter way to fund the project? You can count me in!

      @@ApocGuy the sdr will arrive in a few days. If this transceiver turns out to be the right one I will post a video soon. Officially I will start the project end of August. You can follow the progress also on Instagram dh3pm_hampack. I am not really sure if I make this a public project or not. It is a lot of time and money consuming so if it is public I spend a lot of money. In this case there has to be some financing. I know that a lot of people out there a starving for e relative cheap military style case. I know that every information provided here can be used by everyone. So feel free to open your mind and use any kind of information here. If the big companies can't provide us with technology we would like to have we have to do by our own.

We might need to consider a new radio soon, assuming Yaesu is working on a replacement for the 817/818.. but.. I firmly believe this kind of thinking has huge value to the amateur radio community.

      Sorry - no. I have an Idea of HAMPACK V2 in my mind but this will take some time. It will not support the Yaesu FT 857. Yaesu seems to me that they are way behind the needs of the market and not willing to produce something really interisting. SDR are state of the art and this is what I have in my mind for V2.

      i wonder if you made the pack more generic so that any small radio could fit in it and then sold custom molded faceplates to cover the hole so it would still be waterproof. The faceplates could be made on a 3d printer so as to keep cost down.

    Question can you make it stackable with multiple cases screwed together??

    • @PatrickMuellerKOROLAND
      @PatrickMuellerKOROLAND  8 років тому

      Yes - on the bottom side there are also holes with blind screws. They can be used for anything you like. In case of stacking you can use these screws for a connecting sheet to place 2 of them in a car for example.

    • @jasonhowe1697
      @jasonhowe1697 8 років тому

      i meant actually screwing the cases together removing face plate.. so you could use more than 1 radio.
      this would be a great modular option for vehicle solution van solution or remote base
      ever thought of doing a complete battery module where you have a complete case full batteries
      what are the cases worth on their own??

    • @jasonhowe1697
      @jasonhowe1697 8 років тому

      I think as designers we think of 1 design form factor and fail to look past the intended use of the chassis design..
      You have multiple markets on case alone..
      I'm not saying not to Develop this concept as a standalone unit..
      Though think past that concept and see marketing the case on its own with nothing would be more value to the company, than building the form factor and shoving in obsolete hardware... In it
