You should check out Secret Agent Man by Johnny Rivers, next!
For the longest, I thought it was "secret ASIAN man!"
@@sallyphillips9175 😂
@@sallyphillips9175 you're not the only one, I've heard people say that before. That would be an interesting concept.
Devo does a great version of Secret Agent Man. Hombre Secreto by the Plugz too
Yes! I'm Filipino, so that is my theme song😂
Slow Dancin, Swayin to the music
Love that one!
Yes!
Amber would melt over his song "Slow Dancin"
You need to hear him sing "Summer Rain."
A perfect song that exemplifies the decade of the 60s.
My favorite!
@@wendydouglas425 Yes! A beautiful song that we wore out the .45 playing!
My favorite also is a beautiful beautiful song. You have to do some rain
@@donalddixon6541 I still have it on my Spotify playlist.
Yes I love that song
It's a crime that Johnny Rivers isn't in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Summer Rain is my favorite.
Johnny's "Secret Agent Man" was a smash hit single released back in 1966. An American TV spy series from the mid 60's by the same name featured this record as the theme to the program.🎭🔍
🎻🎻🎻🎻
Amber, you'll be happy to know that the piano player in this, Larry Knechtel, was also one of the members of Bread.
You really must listen to "Secret Agent Man" and "High On a Mountain of Love" by him.
" Secret Agent Man " is another good one by Johnny.
Yes. So glad you got to this one. We all knew you would love it when we requested it. You are so right. It moves and gets you moving from start to finish. I caught it over 50 years ago and hope they never find a cure. Great lyrics and singing, but the piano makes the song of course. Give Secret Agent Man a listen when you get back around to Johnny.
If you haven’t been on a steaming dance floor with a bunch of well dressed dancers all jiving and singing along to this, well you just haven’t lived ✌️
They played it on the radio in the 70s all the time😮. Man music kicked some butt back then.😎
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOME LOL ALOT Best 10 years EVER
Johnny was born in NY. His parents moved to Baton Rouge when he was a teenager where he picked up that Louisiana musical style that's so prevalent in this song.
FYI: piano on this track was played by the late, great Larry Knechtel, who played with the famous Wrecking Crew musicians, played piano on Simon and Garfunkel's Bridge Over Troubled Water, and was a member of the group Bread.
7th Son is another great " feel good" song by Johnny, big top 10 hit!
Johnny Rivers is probably the single most underrated talent of the entire Rock era.
100% agree!!
Agreed 💯! Johnny is THE MAN!
Believe it ir not, in the early 80's when I was in HS, we STILL jammed to this song!
Good 70s music WHY NOT LOL
Cool; hadn’t heard this one in years!👍👍. He was big in the 60s and continued thru the 70s; he did a lot of covers later on. Agree with other’s suggesting “Secret Agent Man”; from 1964, the first song I remember by Johnny Rivers!❤❤❤❤
❤ Class of 71❤' May,I have this Dance
try : "Slow Dancin' (Swayin to the Music)
A classic. Thanks so much. "Secret Agent Man" is another good one. Great reaction.
Johnny should be in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame!!
They don’t deserve him
He was great but never got the acclaim he deserved. Try "Summer Rain", "Memphis", "Seventh Son"
Guys!!!!! I’ve been requesting this for your love of piano since like a year ago! I’m here for it!😂❤ You definitely made me smile today 😊
The man made the transition from 60's soulful rocker to 70's hitmaker, while keeping true to his roots. For the last of his big hits, "Slow Dancin" is next.
Summer Rain is a must listen of his
yes
Secret agent man is my favorite
If there's award for best arrangement in a song, this one deserves it most. I learned to play the piano as a child thanks to hearing this song and getting the ambition.
LOL. I remember "shaking my tail feathers" to this one. I was 9 years old when this came out. And along these same lines you should check out Johnny Rivers - Sea Cruise (1973) - great piano and horns. There were many covers of this song but this is the one I remember most from around the same time as Rockin Pnuemonia & Boogie Woogie Flu.
Love Johnny Rivers. Secret Agent man is my fav..
When i was in Memphis i couldn't stop thinking about Johnny and Elvis.
This is a very fun piano bluesy song! On the flip side of the coin, you should check out his late 70's romantic ballad, "Swayin' To The Music (Slow Dancin')."
"Secret Agent Man. Theme song for the TV show.
Well alrighty then!!! This is a great one!!! It is a fun song!! Couldn’t hear it enough when this hit the airways!! 😊😊❤❤
The piano does make your heart happy!!!!
An absolute bangin' boogie woogie jam. Cheers....
Love me some Johnny Rivers ❤
Big fan of Johnny Rivers.😃😃
This is one of my favorite songs specifically because of the piano. It just makes me so happy.
"Secret Agent Man" was a play on all the spy movies of the time. That's when 007, Matt Helm, Man From U.N.C.L.E. to name a few were out
SUMMER RAIN is a song that I think you'll like. It's a slower paced love song.
Johnny Rivers was fantastic! I'd also recommend, 'Secret Agent Man's, 'Seventh Son ', and 'Mountain of Love's... For the next reaction! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Second that request
excellent recommendations!!
For Secret Agent Man I'd suggest the live version!
Summer Rain is great too.
I love ‘Seventh Son”! Thanks for reminding me!
Haven't heard this tune in SO long I'd almost forgotten it! Thank you!!
johnny cash ring of fire😊
You should react to "Summer Rain".
About 20 years ago, I saw Johnny Rivers at an outdoor show in Boston. It rained during the show driving many people away.
I stayed and met Rivers after the show and told him that was quite a summer rain. He said, "Ha Ha!!!"
In 1970, Larry Knecht won a Grammy Award for his piano work on "Bridge over Troubled Water" by Simon and Garfunkel. He also played the piano on Johnny Rivers' 1972 hit "Rockin' Pneumonia and the Boogie Woogie Flu".
Holy Shit
I bought this 45 when I was a kid
1 still have this 45 and I turned 61 yesterday! Haven't heard this in a while. Great tune!🎉
excellent! back to my teens....just going into my senior year!
You guys have young hearts but old souls. Love your reactions
Secret Agent Man! Mountain of Love!
The New Orleans style radiatin' of those 88s by Huey 'Piano' Smith is the star of this record for sure! Great Track, so much fun!!
Playlist material, folks!!❤❤
Love this song!! ☮️🤍🤎
Hey Y'all, I was just starting my teen yrs and loved busting a rug to this one on my box 45 record player. Great memories, Thanx so much, stay groovy, Peace
Love Love love this song. So much jazz so much soul so much boogie so much funk so much rock so much bass so much of EVERYTHING!!!
Well put Donna
Huey "Piano" Smith wrote and performed the original. Also wrote and first performed "Don't Ya Just Know It" and "Sea Cruise".
Huey Piano Smith - is the one who wrote and first recorded his own song back in 1957..Rockin' Pneumonia and the Boogie Woogie Flu
That brings me back! So right, that piano will make any rock n roller smile, even at a funeral. :)
I love this song so much! I challenge anyone to sit still and not smile while listening to this song. It can't be done.
Johnny Rivers is a true shapeshifter; his music is as diverse as fotos of him. He looks like a different person in nearly every foto I see of him.
"Mountain of Love" and "Secret Agent Man" "Summer Rain" are a couple of the many great ones by Johnny.
IT IS SUCH A PLEASURE WATCHING "AMBER" ROCKIN TO THE MUSIC!!!!!!!!
😂❤😅
OMG!
My favorite song to skate to at Starr’s Skating Rink many, many years ago. Such fun!!
Rockin' 🎹🎵🎶👏👏
Love when you two hit the 60s and 70s. Some of the best music ever produced.
Slow Dancin' (swaying to the music) and Mountain of Love next please. It's a crime Johnny isn't in the HOF.
My dad loved this song!!! Thanks for reminding me of him! I know he is rockin up a storm in Heaven!
@normjones4204 I have to say, if they gave awards for asshole of the day, you would have won with that comment. Congratulations 🎉
@@kimberlydavis7514I thought you were talking about Johnny Rivers. My apologies.
Johnny is a great one!
Banger
Good reaction! Love Johnny Rivers! Everybody got happy feet! 😂React to "Secret Agent Man" or "Summer Rain" next. Thanks. 😎
Yes! I've got the fever!
Great song love the rhythm of the song
Johnny's rendition of "Mountain of Love" is worth a listen and reaction!
"Rockin' Pneumonia and the Boogie Woogie Flu" is a song written and originally recorded by Huey 'Piano' Smith in 1957.
How you stayed seated is beyond me !
Boogie woogie piano!❤❤
That was Larry Knechtelon playing the piano. He was a member of the famous session musician group, The Wrecking Crew. I knew Jay would love the piano on this one. It's one of the best rocking boogie piano parts ever put to tape!
He was also the piano player on Bridge Over Troubled Water as well as a member of Bread.
@ YES!!!!!!! (Larry Knechtel)
I didn’t know this was Johnny Rivers! Awesome!
This is a life-changing song for sure!
Originally recorded in 1957 by Huey Piano Smith, The piano on this is by Larry Knectel of the Wrecking Crew studio musicians.
Does my heart good to see you rocking to this one. I absolutely love Johnny Rivers songs.
Written and originally recorded by Huey 'Piano' Smith.
I was looking for this comment - Johnny Rivers was ok but frankly mostly did covers and of lots of less well-known black artists. In any case, that's where the bluesy influence is coming from - it was there in the original!
Really enjoy seeing you two react and experience "new" music together! Makes me wonder if this is how I reacted the first time I heard this.
One of my all time faves!!! This is one bug I don't want a cure for...😂😘😘❤️
That just reminded me of Robert Palmer’s “Bad Case of Loving You (Doctor, Doctor)”. It doesn’t look like they’ve reacted to that one.
Nope, NEVER want the cure for
OH, GOSH!!! I LOVED this song when it came out!! LOVED the LYRICS!! HUGS, YA'LL - and, ENJOY!!! :)
Yes! Try Rocking Robin by Bobby Day
I'd like to hear the Jackson 5's version of that song!
Now you're playing my song. 😊
@@georgewallerlll496 lol that too
Awesome. This used to play allot on the radio.
Now this is what's called "Rock & Roll" take a lesson children !!!!..Johnny was a real treat to listen to even to this day !!!
I drove my parents crazy wearing this 45 out! Peace, Love!!
Jay & Amber, thanks for reacting to this song!!!! This is a go-to 'feel good' song for me!!!
Originally recorded by the songwriter Huey "Piano" Smith !!
Backing Johnny on this song was the legendary Wrecking Crew, with Larry Knechtel on piano,
I never understood how anyone could not like this tune. It's about as happy a song as you could imagine.
I love all of Johnny's hits. Mountain of Love is one of my favorites, along with Summer Rain. 👍👍❤❤
Such a great tune!!
More Johnny Rivers! His cover of “Sea Cruise” is fun! I’ve loved it ever since I was a little kid. There is a British piano teacher, Terry Miles, who posts videos on UA-cam of his search for pianos in pubs. With his style he often brings a smile to the faces of the bystanders. He must have caught the boogie woogie flu too.
Man, great song!
Johnny Rivers is an amazing talent with a bunch of songs under his belt. This song was played by the band at my wedding and it never gets old.
Thanks for playing this! My dad’s favorite artist. I hadn’t heard Johnny Rivers in 30+ years. I’m going to play it for my 7 year old son.
Seventh Son
Is my personal favorite among a dozen favorites of his.
Another vote for Johnny Rivers’ song Summer Rain.
I love watching these two chair dance! 💃🎶🎹🎼
Give Johnnys tune Summer Rain a reaction next time you do him. It’s my personal favorite.
