    You can be hyped but their new line up will mean price increase. They're dominating the market and they're going the Nvidia routr for the CPU. Increase perf increase price.

      price increase for the new cpu's. But you can build an AM5 entry level PC for 600 dollars if you live near a micro center.
      And as new Zens come out, I think we can see those prices go lower. Lets go Budget builds!

    An 8-core R5 would be perfect. They can even use lower bins instead of repurposed laptop chips for their budget line.

    Zen 5 is gonna have the same core counts as Zen 4. Zen 6 will be a complete redesign with higher core counts, new infinity fabric, new package design and on a new socket I assume. AMD really needs to use Zen 5c in the desktop, but they won't.

    I'm looking at upgrading to AMD 8000. But honestly, my money is on 9000 or whatever they're calling it. DDR5/PCIE5 should mature by then with better memory speeds and faster read/writes. I agree with ya. AMD should make the 3D their top tier CPU and just call it the X. They could charge a hundred less for the non x.

  • @CyrusGameWorlds

    its 2x faster in AVX512 workloads because Zen4 uses dual cycle 256 bit AVX to process an AVX512 instruction. and it has ladder bus instead of ring bus which means all cores on a CCD are directly connected to all other cores which increases multicore performance and reduces core to core communication latency. it has a 8 wide dispatch per core instead of a 6 wide dispatch on Zen4. it has 6 ops prefetch instead of 4 ops prefetch on zen4 BUT THE BIGGEST IMPROVEMENT IS THAT IT HAS 6 INTEGER ALUS PER CORE INSTEAD OF 4 IN ZEN4. so Ryzen 9 9950X has 96 Integer ALUs instead of 64 on Ryzen 9 7950X. the 3D Vcache models take more performance advantage from VCache than Zen4 and Zen3. I will not be surprised if Ryzen 7 9800X3D turns out to give 50 percent higher frame rate than Ryzen 7 7800X3D in all modern games on average and I wouldnt be surprised if its 2 times faster in AI and crypto mining because of native 512 bit AVX512 support. also it can run your RAM clocks at much higher than 6000 MHz CL30. at least 6400 MHz ( 7200 MHz at best ) sweetspot. Zen5 is such a beast. Zen6 has a unified dualCCD means it uses TSVs to connect both chiplets together instead of infinity fabric so it even increases multicore performance. note that 15 to 30 percent higher IPC translates to 15 to 30 percent higher single threaded performance at the same clock speed but with ladder bus the multithreaded performance would be 20 to 35 percent faster.

  • @BrunoPT
    @BrunoPT 6 місяців тому +1

    AMD won't give us more than 16c/32t because
    A: not enough memory bandwidth to feed so many cores properly and
    B: the IPC increase will be brutal
    and C: Deal with it 😎

    Only CPU I would care about is 16 core AMD or 12 core single ring bus intel with quad channel memory and minimum of 40 but preferably 48 PCIE lanes. And at HEDT pricing not the crazy 2 grand plus for a motherboard, CPU and 64GB of memory they're trying to fleece HEDT buyers out of. I guess at least the W790 option just about gets you the RAM for free since the Threadripper with board is $2200 and the Xeon W5 with board is $1865. Memory is another $370 or so.

    PCs are about more than just gaming performance. X3D is largely only a benefit to gaming, while the X models are just better at everything else. The core parity argument runs counter to the X3D one, because the E cores only really benefit productivity. The R9X3Ds already exist to give you the best of both worlds. Latest of anything is going to be expensive, but the 7000 series will be cheaper when 9000 releases. You arent backed into a corner with AM5, like LGA1700.

    If they could produce the volume Intel can, they could definitely compete with Intel’s budget parts.

    The worst thing to ever have faith in is an AMD leak. At best they might actually achieve their claims, at worst it falls far short. Remember the 7900XTX was supposed to be "2-3x" of the 6950xt but a _minimum_ 2x?
    AMD makes perfectly fine products but they are their own biggest fanboys so their leaks are often horribly inaccurate. The concerning part here is Zen5 leaks are stating only 10% uplift, while Arrow Lake is sounding more like 20%. If this is true Zen5 is already sounding like a resounding "meh" when you know those MSRPs are going to skyrocket back up. Then you have fanboys like More Coleslaw Is Dead that _still_ claim the X3D is 30% faster than a 13900k which isn't even close to reality, and even he reluctantly admitted Arrow Lake will likely take the gaming crown back.
    At the very least never underestimate AMD's inherent ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory by bad pricing and flubbed launches.
