I've seen alot of videos here but none seem to indicate any real time physical synth key playing in conjunction with onboard iPad patch editing of synth sounds. I've seen synths being played via the iPad app keyboard or the iPad app being manipulated while a step sequence / arp sequence is in activated. Am I missing something ? I understood that the app was able to access a synths' internal architecture to allow simpler patch modding whilst the playing the actual synth in real time. Is this possible ? Sorry, but I haven't seen anything here to indicate if that's the case. It looks incredible in action but these examples are not the way that I would prefer to use this technology. Could you let me know if I'm off point? Thanks.
Hi, yes it's possible. The videos generally show a sequencer playing the synth because I only have 2 hands. :) But Patch Base allows you to change controls in realtime on the iPad while you're playing the keys on your synth (if it has keys). The responsiveness of the sound changes depends on the synth though... most of them update instantaneously, but the CZ-101 for instance has a small audio dropout each time you change a parameter, just due to its architecture. The dropout is a fraction of a second, so it's not really a problem for sound design, but it is hard to smoothly play a piece of music while changing controls at the same time.
I believe that the sysex needs to be slightly modified for the 230s. So I don't think the files will work as is. But they are a free download now, so you are welcome to try them out.
Love this patches man. Need to get CZ app soon. Nice upload
IKEBARA Thank you!
IKEBARA The Official CZ Appcis close to the real thing except you can't do noise and rm at the same time
Great work! Really fat sounds, it is like good analog synth
dope patches!!!!!
Thank you!

Hello, Coffeeshopped. I own a CZ 230s which has 4 programmable locations. Would this work?
