I can't believe how fast they respond. I'm just as impressed with the car as I am with their company. Amazing people. Alex is very intelligent and helpful!

That hose on top of the CAI hood gasket, I can’t unsee that Alex lol. Seriously though, I think that is why my PMAS runs smooth like stock. It comes with a calibrated MAF. Of course with the OEM MAF and PMAS it works fine with a tune, too.
This was really helpful. Thanks Alex. Brandon will be turning my 2011 with a custom turbo kit. And I was redoing the cold side Into the intake with 3.5”. Knowing where placement should be is very helpful.
Have you come across any 5.0 mustangs running cold airs with tunes that end up having a over reporting Maf sensor. Like a customer ending up calling back months or years later about rich codes coming up without changing a thing.
@@matt7sixty Alex has clearly stated in previous videos until you go more mods stock is best. If you arent doing any other mods to support an aftermarket cai then it isn't worth it. Stock is ideal. Not just my opinion but Alex's as well
Have you seen any benefit to wrapping the CAI in reflective tape to help keep IAT lower? Specifically on a 16 gt performance pack autox/road course car
I dont think your going to tell any difference in performance by keeping heat off the outside of your air elbow. If you were sucking in engine bay heat before with a hot air intake and you switched to a true cold air like stock airbox then you would definitely see a drop in iat's and some performance gains.
Makes perfect sense. How do you feel about JLT? The intake that VMP suppLies with their kit but for some reason they can’t get my car to have proper hot starts. Cold ones are iffy too but drivability is pretty close to stock.
I'm also happy w/ the stock airbox and a drop in k&n high flow filter performance. I've run all sorts of CAIs in the past w/ ProChargers and stuff and sticking to this has felt best on my 2020.
NGL when I first watched your s550 videos in November before I bought my car I swore that all your videos were in a different language. 7 months later and it only half sounds like jumbo jumbo 😂😂 you car guys live acronyms
I had replaced my intake on a 2019 for a steeda and got damn the drivability was shit , idling and would make the car run lean , so I went back to stock air box & car runs beautiful
Any benefits of an aftermarket MAF such as a JET Performance MAF sensor with accuracy or clearer signals? Would it be just the same or worse as an OEM MAF?
Is a covered element in a swap that has a whipple is more beneficial than open air? I'm planning on making an aluminum case covering the filter with snorkel facing forward. Good idea or nah?
Hey Alex, this question isn't really related to this video but if you could answer that would be great. I watched your f150 comp cam video, am able to get a set for my 17 coyote f150 or should I try and grab a set if 17 mustang cams? I'm basically trying to get my f150 to race not tow. There is only so much you can do with a tune on an N/A car.. he is probably right.. Even manufacturers do stupid crap with MAF placement. Vortec and Procharger were big offenders. Even by 2009, I saw a turbo kit by a crazy bipolar Cali big shop owner had his turbo kit at SEMA with the MAF placed IN the exit tank od the damn intercooler! When asked about it, he got defensive. What cold air intakes does Lund Racing recommend? I’m looking for a flex fuel tune for a 2017 Mustang GT.

Honestly without upgrading more than just intake the stock airbox is pretty much ideal already.
PMAS *cough cough*

what is the best cold air intake for s197 gt500s in your experience?
PMAS or JLT. Alex has my GT500 running pretty strong on the JLT 123mm.
Maf placement on a turbo car, pre or post intercooler? I would think post since it has the IAT and you can see what your intercooler is doing.
