Not yet played Helldivers 2, but after having played Helldivers 1 just half a year ago for the first time, it feels great to hear about Arrowhead Studio's triumph. They perfected their formula, and made the best spiritual game adaptation of Starship Troopers imaginable. And after nine years, none of that was a given. This truly feels like a reward for a great and passionate effort on developers' side. All the best.
I hope the success of all these medium scale games shows publishers that not every project has to be a 100 million dollar AAA production. More games for less money would also encourage more risk taking and result in way more unique experiences.
Deep rock galactic i thought about when thinking about helldivers 2. Idk why (After watching your video through: You haven't played deeprock? You definitely need to givecit a go! #RockandStone #ForKarl
it's a little early to call this game a success imo. this type of game is meant to last a long time, and becomes a lot worse when fewer people are playing it. we'll see how long it actually lasts once the hype dies down.
that being said, this is an excellent video. as a warframe player, i'm not as impressed by this game's monetization as others seem to be, though i can still appreciate it for what it is compared to AAA titles. It is amazing to me how, after all this time, so few games have made the Path of Exile / Warframe business model work, or even try to.
I don't think it helps to your point when you talk about all the colours and locations, when showing a dark, single colour moon surface xD But yeah what you said is basically Deep Rock Galactic, but right now I can't play that game since november because of a bug making controller gameplay not possible. Any game can really be this type of game, like in Monster Hunter I can also just go in, open a Deco Farm Quest, and hunt a monster with randoms for a few minutes and it's fun. I'm personally not a fan of first person shooters that don't have good worlds and fun first person shooter gameplay, hell divers seems 3rd person, and looks boring to me, since I can't engage with the weapons. I have Monster Hunter as my fall-back title, because the combat feels weighty. But good that you have fun and enjoy it.

As cool as it is, a $40 price tag with microtransactions is unforgivable, no matter the studio
