He should of stayed all 4 years....
You are correct, sir. He needed more time to mature before getting all that money.
Nihilus true
Probably would’ve won a second heisman
Wtf the are you talking about? No one could stop this guy. Anyone that was this good would have gone pro.
Bob johnny said he should have stayed
When I heard people say sports are for entertainment, I never really believed it... Until I watched Johnny Football
He won't be half as effective in the nfl. He had FOREVER to throw on half of these passes with a perfect pocket. His athleticism, while good, will not allow him to run circles around NFL defenses. College superstar but won't fair too well in the NFL.
VYFTW10 this comment held up well lol
James D oh yea lol
*fare
This aged well
Like fine wine
Who gives a shit about the nfl he was one of be the best college qbs of all time.
SouthernFried87 I doubt we'll forget his name 30 years lol
SouthernFried87 why would we forget the greatest college football player of all time? And when he comes back to the nfl we will not forget one of the best nfl qb’s of all time #comebckszn
@@GrimGriefer_ hes not coming back, great college qb though
Looked like a Mike Evans highlight tape. That guy is a beast.
Absolutely
Mike Evans = Best WR in the country. He hardly gets any respect cause he plays under Manziel's shadow but he's the X-factor for that team and makes all the big plays.
Yup
johnny manziel will do everything in college but in the nfl NOTHING!
Darian Smith you weren’t wrong congrats 👍
The single most exciting player in college football. I'm not saying the best, just the most exciting.
Percy Harvin
he had some poor decision making, questionable accuracy, and ran to much. some running and scrambling can be good, but this guy way over does it. Alot of the crap this guy tried wont fly in the nfl, especially against any of the top ten defenses. imagine this guy having to deal with carolina's D line or the LOB. hes definitly fun to watch, but hes no 1st round pick. Its only a matter of time untill people finally see that
He's good, but his top receiver Mike Evans is a more valuable player on the next level.
Johnny Football will make you all pay for passing on him.
Thank god they. #JohnnyCleveland
Cody Hendon are you kidding. That just idiotic. How do you call someone a bust without taking a snap. Just dumb
Lol
He spins that ball like no other. Man I miss this.
Thank you Johnny
Bama's D Lineman are about as quick as Manziel. That should've been the first red flag.
Hey was on fire! Some of the best college football ever played BAR NONE! CHEAeEERRRHO!!!!
Manziel has many character issues that would definitely impact his draft value. He lacks pocket presence. If you want to be successful as a quarterback in the NFL, you need to be a drop-back pocket passer, which Manziel is not. Run-first quarterbacks can only last so long. Manziel also has played against mediocre defensive teams, other than Alabama. If he does not develop pocket presence, along with a quicker release and tighter spirals, he will not succeed in the NFL.
Are you insane?!?!?! Manziel lacks pocket presence? He's run first? I'm not wasting my time with typical ignorant JF rebels when Manziel sits back more comfortably in the pocket than any passer I've seen. He goes through his progressions better than any Qb in the FBS(being able to draw away secondaries and can hit any receiver), not to mention he's playing in the SEC with a non existent defense and is still able to manage being the most accurate qb PASSING (73%) and has the most passing yards. This guy came back from a shoulder injury hitting 100% of his pass on his first drive (In the pocket) hitting 4 different receivers. You guy, need to pay more attention, it;s not rocket science.
Corey Davis Not to mention it's Texas A&M's second year in the SEC, I rest my case.
"you need to be a drop-back pocket passer, which Manziel is not". What? How do you explain 31 TD passes and 72% completion rating in the best conference in CFB? If you've watched any of his games this years, he's actually ran less Character Issues are highly overestimated. It's not effecting his play in any way shape or form and he's not a locker room cancer.
Dude he's 20. Of coarse he's isn't going to have NFL quality passes. No one does when they're 20. And also a good College defense doesn't compare to a good NFL defense. But with that said...given the proper coaching..maybe a change in attitude..and ability to improve with in the next 4 to 5 years with NFL experience...he could be one of the best. Is he now? No...could he be in the future..yes.
Manziel isint a run first QB anymore if you watched him you would know
the best player in college. he should get the heisman, he is almost a one man team, he has an awful defense, and a weak corp of recievers (excluding evans).
Mariota vs Stanford: 250 yards 2 TDs -16 rushing yards
Winston vs Miami: 325 yards 1 TD 2 INT 27 rushing yards
Manziel vs Alabama: 464 yards 5 TD 2 INT 98 rushing yards
but apparently, having a good defense wins you the heisman
Why those particular games only?
Look Manziel was great that year. But are you really going to say Winston didn’t deserve that Heisman. The way his teams dominated, the plays he made, the stats he put up. You put together one of the bad games he played and Florida State still won by 27 and won the natty. Nuff said.
Manziel vs his girlfriend, beat her AZZ up and put her in hospital every time.
Isn’t Winston still playing as QB1 on a NFL contender? What about the others?
except Manziel, is faster, prob the most elusive QB ever, his escape ability is crazy he runs like a RB, makes people miss like emmitt smith, great accuracy, great arm in other words can actually throw, and also a potential game manager. besides didn't tebow lead the broncos to the playoffs and won a post game against the steelers? c'mon he going to the texans think with Andre Johnson, Arian Foster, JJ Watt, Antonio Smith, ED Reed Owen Daniels & Brian Cushing cmon wit that squad he'll succeed.
I honestly don't think St Louis will draft a qb in the first round, I know they have 2 picks but I see them getting a WR & probably a OL. Since there is so much OL & WR talent in the first round. Second round I can see them looking at Aaron Murray or Aj McCarron as the eventual replacement.
Only if the aggs would've won this game. Mike Evan's showed out
Oh yeah, and that oline is incredible. Led by one of my favorite players entering this year's draft... JAKE MATTHEWS!
5:48 best throw ever
L.S.U. and Mizzu provided the blueprints for slowing down Johnny Football. Just keep him in the pocket and make him beat you from there. If he leaves the pocket, treat him like a RB. Now if Manziel can prove that those two games were merely flukes then he's a top 5 pick, if he can't then some team will have to be in a gambling mood to selected in the top 15. I don't think he'll get past the Raiders or the Browns in the 1st rd who could trade down and select him. NFL Comparison: Jeff Garcia passing ability, M.Vick exclusiveness.
He was already injured coming into the LSU and Mizzou games.
Having to play an 16 game schedule in the NFL won't protect him from having to play with injuries from time to time. Trust me! defenders who are just as fast or faster than Manziel are licking their chops waiting for an opportunity to lay the wood to him (5"11-207) when he leaves the pocket. For his sake I hope he becomes a pocket passer and only leaves the pocket when he has too...
Thumb size of a golf ball for mizz game.
He will have to play with injuries in the NFL like everyone else does from time to time; especially if he plans on making plays with his feet instead of his arm.
He won't have to. He's polishing his pocket skills as he demonstrated during his pro day.
5:35 shows his heart for the game.
nfl will expose his weaknesses 10x
go ALABAMA!!!!!!!!!!!! ROLL TIDe
i know he will pick it up in the NFL hes too talented not too
The 50/50 balls off the back foot don't look quite as good when they aren't thrown to Mike Evans.
As good of a college quarterback as he is now, the Pro level is quite the leap forward in expectancies and challenges, Johnny won't be elusive against defensive teams and pass rushing defense
he will be he just has to be coached right he can throw at a high velocity too he gets more polished at the next level he can be very dangerous with those legs
Accurate prediction 🎯... I hope your Packers can recover quickly after losing Rodgers too 💯
doubt that lol it'll be top5 definitely.
I didn’t remember this being such a beating for most of the game
hes better than any other qb in draft. bridgewater has small hands, had busted coverages and wide open recievers cuz he played weak ass competition n played like 2 top 25 ranked teams in 40 career games. manziel played like 14 or 15 ranked team in 26 career games. bridgewater can barely throw the ball 50 yards wen he drops back and manziel can throw it that far on the run. mazniel blew up against actual good competition and not weak teams like bortles and bridgewater. bridgewater never had to play under pressure or on big stages like manziel cuz he pretty much blew everyone out cuz the teams sucked. hes a choke artist, at his combine wen he had pressure and all eyes on him he crumbled, which is wats gonna happen in the nfl. manziel steps up on the biggest stages, against the best competition, with a shitty defense behind him, and still puts up 50 points. that's wat nfl teams look for
The next tarkenton viking football
It's either Johnny or blake because blake has his fair share of great games and Johnny also but so far maybe Johnny might have the upper hand
competition level is irrelevant if you're a qb. Teddy is much more accuarate, and fundamentally sound.
Calvin Wasdyke Tell that to Peyton Manning.
No way. Bridgewater is calm and mobile. People passed up on Johnny because he will get cracked easily and there would be too much media pressure to start him.
When does Mike Evans get credit shit Manziel just throws it up to him a lot. J Manziel is NO Cam Newton he reminds me of RG3 and he will get hit a couple of times and be out for the season he is to small. However he has been one hell of a college QB.Wilson was a pass first qb out of college and bigger than JM .but i cant see him doing the same in the pros. Texas am fans dont hate because you have a hella good Qb.
I have no idea what player you've been watching. Sure, there are a few instances of Manzeil just throwing it up, but only in one occasion has it been to Mike Evans. The one everyone always refrences was in fact to Edward Pope, not Mike Evans. But in general, Johnny puts the ball where only his reciever can get it, not just lofting it up. There's a difference.
David Owen
He's good, he's elusive and is an accurate passer on the run. However, Texans would be making mistake if they picked this guy #1.
Manziel averages 23 completions per game. Evans averages less than 5 catches per game. The idea that Manziel just throws it up to Evans every time is ridiculous.
Heck of a game. I know his receivers helped him a lot but he was pretty accurate and didn't make too many poor decisions against a solid defense. This was a highly anticipated game and he showed up. I'm not a huge Manziel or A&M fan, but I do respect the effort he and their offense gave. I'm only commenting on this game, so I don't want to hear anyone crying about what he does wrong. Except for that int in the end zone, which I know was a BIG mistake, he played damn near mistake-free football against one of the most respected teams in college football.
I don't care what you guys say about JF but that kid has fight and heart in him. Down by several scores late in game he still fight and almost reel these guys to a win. If anything that AM defense sucks. That side has been pathetic the whole game. JF does a lot of things great he scrambles to hit targets, run for first down as a second options, and feed his play makers first. If anything I hope and pray his guy falls to Dallas. Dez, JF,and Murray will do some real damage in the league. JF will make sure Dez will get the ball and those guys emotions, heart, and fight will fuel, reengerize the team for many years...similar to Troy and Irvin.
Kid literally had no fight for the NFL
@@scottm9158 9 years later and the truth is out. Saw the Netflix show about him. Dude could've been a beast. But he settled to be an alcoholic, sneaky lying druggie bum.
I would love to see this guy come play in Minnesota
Me too
No U Dnt bust
Texans are taking Bridgewater, Maniels goin to the Browns.
As a Texans fan, I see that happening if Texans don't trade the #1 pick
nah Texans will get Johnny
Bridgewater sucks sorry bust your bubble
TheBullyRam97 That's hilarious.
TheBullyRam97
You are right. Johnny Football to Houston is seeming more and more likely as each day passes. Houston WANTS Manziel
wow nigga
Johnny was hard in college!
@Matt Stapley regarding how much time he gets in the pocket. The opposing teams give him that much time because they only rush 3. If you rush more than 3 you leave yourself susceptible to his running. I watched his high school videos and seen him at A&M and it's usually by design. The down lineman don't rush him to try and sack him they rush him to keep him contained. A "mush rush"
5:40 What the fuh?!
I miss him
Guys it is getting Pretty Obv who everyone is going to take now here is my List.
Houston-Jadeveon Clowney (IF they do not trade their Pick)
St.Louis-Jake Matthews (IF they do not trade their Pick)
Jacksonville-Sammy Watkins or Mike Evans
Cleveland-Johnny Manziel
Oakland-Teddy Bridgewater
The Rest are really up for Grabs.
Guess it wasn’t that obvious
so glad i witnessed this live.
dude was good in college but this type of game wouldn't work in the NFL against smart defenses,...even if he does get his shit together and finds himself back on the field
wsu 510 you're a moron he's far better than, Blaine gabbert, rg3,Brock osweiler, Jared Goff, mariota, Ryan fitz, Sam Bradford, jay cutler, Ryan tannehill, Alex smith. Which are all starting qbs.
what do you mean moron? he went to the NFL and that type of game didn't work at all....
@@AustinBats hes not better than any of them, maybe Osweiler but thats it.
Wish The Browns would start Manziel. Hoyer has shown he is very inconsistent and will not take us to the next level.
He doesn't make smart decisions at all...He even claims to be better than tebow. He probably wont even get a winning season
Tebow has never had a winning season
A winning season means he had a positive record. And yes he had a positive record
Tebow led the broncos to a winning season a couple years ago not to mention a first round playoff win...
5:35 easily one of the most amazing plays in the past 5 years of college football
Luck, he threw it up and he had a receiver get lucky bone
Pure luck
I had forgotten about that play at 4:56, holy crap, he was 27 yards behind the line and then threw downfield 40 yards to gain 13. Crazy. No idea how he wasn't sacked there.
If he looked for mike the whole game they could've won
you act like he do that every game. do you forget his target of last yr ryan swope was doing the same thing and he was only 6'0 besides manziel got an high football I.Q he knows what he's doing if he knows he got a 6'5 Wr occourse he gonna chuck it up there not cause he making a bad decision but he's taking advantage of evans height i mean who wouldn't? manziel would be great with or without evans swope is the proof and it's not like he's that great he went in the 6th round
Not at all. He did it only twice, and the first time, it was a good decision because it would have been 4th down and if intercepted, Bama would have been further back than if they could have returned a punt (shows he doesn't care about his stats but about the win). For the 2nd one, if you have a 6'5 receiver surounded by 3 5'11 corners, he's either gonna catch it or get a pass-interference penalty. Win-win
first off, it is impossible to make nfl throws when he is not playing in a nfl offensive system, second, as i said before, i could point a lot of passes that should have been deflected/intercepted, third comparing him to drew brees is nonsense (btw no one has ever thrown for more than 600 yards in single game) drew brees makes accurate throws in tight coverage/windows and doesn't need receivers running wide open down the field in a spread offense, the only good throw was 11:21
Johnny Cleveland !
Not impressed, sorry Johnny boy... Your going to get ate up in the nfl
JF better not lose the heisman due to the offseason that would be bullshit he obviously the best player and don't even try to argue cause if we caculate bridgewater, mccarron, boyd, mariota, murray, winston stats total manziel got the most tds, yds and defeated the bama defense not the team but dat got an ass whooping that no qb ever laid even A.J know he's no match for his own Defense neither is bridgewater cause bama better then Kentucky defensively and offensively. manziel GOAT of college.
Are you kidding? So when Drew Brees throws for 600 against the NFLS best teams, that secondary is all of a sudden garbage? No, some players are just GODS and make this happen no matter what the situation. NFL THROWS!
People always doubt college ft qbs when there not right height weight look at tebow so underrated never really was given a starting job look what he did with Denver NFL is messed up plain and simple
wait... why are we comparing him to Wilson again? I wanna hear you state how him and Manziel are so alike. What exactly? His arm.. his speed, how he cuts? Everyones there own player. Comparisons just lead to misjudgement.
His throws just floated forever. Any NFL DB could run under them. What could have been.
Check out the ref at 3:57. He doesn't throw the flag until he confirms that he caught the ball. Maybe im looking too hard but that just looks funny and rigged to me.
He's too reliant on just hucking the ball up and having a miraculous catch. Great game but his NFL stock is so-so. He'll make plays but he'll make mistakes as well.
in the nfl you need to zip it in there in those 15 - 20 yard throws to the sideline
and also as we all know Brandon weeden is going to canton of course....
I remember those days , for A&M the drought was over . At the end of the day all that matters is the final score CHURCH FOLKS
vick was good but i do agree that manziel is more elusive it's just vick was so dam fast he didn't really need to be elusive but manziel make guys miss on plays all the time way more then vick
Drew Brees is closer to 6'0''. Johnny Manziel is about the same size as him but I really don't think if he gets in the NFL, he will transition well.
Manziel vs. LSU is more impressive....he flat out sucks against the Tigers. What he's seen from LSU is what he'll see in the NFL.
I really don't like the American football due to his always interrupted flow. Though, for the first time, American football is entertaining and spectacular for me. This Johnny Manziel is incredible. Very, very skillful !
But Brandon Weeden does? I mean honestly man. Think about the difference between Brandon Weeden and Johnny Manziel. LMFAO!. Weeden is so bad
that secondary is garbage, not to take anything away from manziel but there was a alot of passes that should have been deflected/intercepted
holy crap dodges 2 sacks then throws a DOT! on the run? is this madden gameplay? no its johny football.... never seen that before
He is fast but will not be as good as kaepernick because manziel is 5.11 kaepernick is 6.4 and is still fast
The only flaw about Manziel's game is the fact he had a tremendous 6'5" receiver in mike evans. In the NFL, some receivers are so good they make shitty quarterbacks like Matt Stafford, or Andy Dalton look good. We will just have to wait and see I guess
Good college player, won't do anything in the pros, helps having a stud receiver in Evans (almost half of Manziel's passing yards this year are to Evans).
@Sam Merrin. Russell Wilson isn't that great and Kaep at least looks around to see if he has an option before running most of the time. Plus, San Fransico has a good o-line. Wilson just has a good team, Wilson himself isn't very impressive. He is way overrated in my opinion. Plus, anybody playing against Denver's defense in the Super Bowl would have looked great. Tim Tebow would have looked awesome against Denver... Just saying, look up the injury history with running QBs, most are injured within the first few weeks. Kaep doesn't rely on his running game as much as Manziel and others. You can tell Manziel is going to try to rely on that way to much. It's cool to run once in a while, but if you do it every other play it's just a recipe for disaster in the NFL. I'm just saying in my opinion he reminds me of Terrelle Pryor. Watch Pryors highlights, they are very similar, then when he started in the NFL he relied heavily on his run game, in his first season as a starter he had a concussion and a leg injury from being tackled and was benched for like 6 games.. Running QBs are cool and have some "flash", I mean, Pryor broke the nfl record for running a 93 yard td from scrimmage on the first play against the steelers. But, he didn't have many TDs and he had way too many interceptions for under thrown passes(like Manziel in this video) and ran backwards(like Manziel in this video) but unlike college, the NFL guys would have slammed him down..loss of 20 yards.. He might be a good QB but I don't think he will last if he plays like this.
Jeoffrey Pagan is from my hometown, Asheville, NC 828!!!
I see the Texans selecting teddy Bridgewater over johnny football kinda makes sense I mean I probably would too to be honest.
He has to stay in the pocket more, he leaves the pocket even when he has protection... If the viking do select him, good luck cause our o-line isn't great! We don't want to see another Christian Ponder who fuckin runs the ball every single time. I hope Johnny Manziel is promising!
Everyone wants to blame this kid for makin plays...If his team didn't give up 49 a game, i'm sure he wouldn't have to force as many passes and take as many chances
Bosworth-Leaf-Manziel
NoMansPathTheSame Jamarcus Russell
Funny how many people here will defend Johnny as if he can "do no wrong". He is undoubtedly one of the most exciting players I have ever watched, and he can do some absolutely spectacular things. But there are plenty of instances in this game as well as many others that expose some of Johnny's problems as a quarterback, especially as one at an NFL level.
It will be interesting to see what teams focus more on come draft time. The positives or the negatives.
Were Bama DBs hanging all over and pushing receivers back in 2013? .. Yep ... same nonsense as today 4:51 - 7:31 Push-off - 11:00 - 12:55
If you truly believe Manziel is similar to Tebow then you are truly an unintelligent sports fan.
Bama exposed the boy, manziel couldn't win again them big brothas saban got out of da hood, manziel did beat his girlfriend face in many times
A guy like Robert Mathis or julius peppers will chase this kid down and eat him from behind. No way is he a first rounder
Best QB in college hands down fuck that stop hating... He got that swag can't wait to c him in da nfl
What I like about him is that he's always looking downfield to make a play. He doesn't just automatically check down all the time.
@anthony nelson highly doubt they would've won sorry a&m is good but just not match from alabama.
Bama is running man press coverage. The reason Manziel keeps throwing to Evans is cause he is the only one strong enough to consistently get through the press.
Terrible coverage on the right side of the field..that corner STINKS
He holds the ball too long. You can not do that in the NFL...
And you know a lot about the NFL don't you. Don't be ignorant based off of things you see on TV
Blubottle O What Russel Wilson did wasn't supposed to translate to the NFL either. But he looks better with each game. Tom Brady was't looked at as a guy who could make it in the NFL as anything but a towel boy, and we know how that turned out. Don't be so quick to judge.
Matt Spaulding Russel is ok. He reminds me of Doug Flutie and Flutie had some good games but never won the big one. Tom Brady is a whole different story he was really a diamond in the rough...Who woudlve known and he replaced a fairly good QB Bledsoe.
If he tries that throwing across the middle of the field crap against All Pro Safeties, he's gonna get ate up.
he can barely get the ball in there on throws to the sideline. he doesn't have an nfl arm
I dont complain about the refs very often but they made some questionable calls this game.
HOLY SHIT THIS GUY IS FUCKING GOOD AND HOLY SHIT THAT OFFENSIVE LINE IS FUCKING GOOD TOO O.O LOOKS LIKE A PRO OFFENSE
Manziel and Greg Reid were my favorite college players to watch.
This should be Texas A&M vs Alabama 2013...they are a team
all you people are saying that mike evens saves and makes him look good but a lot of these passes great thrown ball, he puts the ball were no one else can get it. if he goes to the Texans its not like they don't have receivers they have andre and deandre
He's quick big arm the accuracy is there but he runs a bit to much the NFL will make him a better passer
Aha harbaugh will not throw season for him u nuts man... Kaepernick is sick man
It's funny, all of those floaters that were under thrown are picks in the NFL. But because the DBs were snoozing he got away with it. He doesn't really look that fast to me either. The holes in an NFL line won't be half that big so all his scrambling will be a lot tougher to get back to the line of scrimage. I don't see what the big deal is. Mike Vick was way better with a better arm and look how he fared!
remember though once upon a time Mike Vick was arguably the most dynamic player in the League. Then he even enjoyed success after he got out of prison until the last two years where his age finally caught up with him. Johnny Manziel will have to make some adjustments but if he does what he needs to do he'll be just fine
james johnson
I know the Browns front office is salivating over him and I personally hope they opt out of the johnny football plan. He'll get several broken bones playing in CLE lol.
Vick was faster but he had straight line speed he wasnt near as elusive, thats what makes manziel a better runner and playmaker
if vick was a 4.4 guy and he got caught and injured how to people argue manziel wont be. Saying he can dodge everyone is ridiculous. He isnt barry sanders he isnt even lesean mccoy.
Nobody said he wouldnt get injured i just said hes a playmaker. Everyone gets caught even vick who used to be a 4.3 guy but you cant argue that manziels not a playmaker. He had one of the best college careers ever and his highlight videos all together are probaly 30 minutes long. Nick sabans considered one of the best defensive minds in football and he had no answer for johnny manziel either time, that has to mean something
