    He won't be half as effective in the nfl. He had FOREVER to throw on half of these passes with a perfect pocket. His athleticism, while good, will not allow him to run circles around NFL defenses. College superstar but won't fair too well in the NFL.

    he had some poor decision making, questionable accuracy, and ran to much. some running and scrambling can be good, but this guy way over does it. Alot of the crap this guy tried wont fly in the nfl, especially against any of the top ten defenses. imagine this guy having to deal with carolina's D line or the LOB. hes definitly fun to watch, but hes no 1st round pick. Its only a matter of time untill people finally see that

    Manziel has many character issues that would definitely impact his draft value. He lacks pocket presence. If you want to be successful as a quarterback in the NFL, you need to be a drop-back pocket passer, which Manziel is not. Run-first quarterbacks can only last so long. Manziel also has played against mediocre defensive teams, other than Alabama. If he does not develop pocket presence, along with a quicker release and tighter spirals, he will not succeed in the NFL.

    • @Evry1srolemodel
      @Evry1srolemodel 11 років тому +5

      Are you insane?!?!?! Manziel lacks pocket presence? He's run first? I'm not wasting my time with typical ignorant JF rebels when Manziel sits back more comfortably in the pocket than any passer I've seen. He goes through his progressions better than any Qb in the FBS(being able to draw away secondaries and can hit any receiver), not to mention he's playing in the SEC with a non existent defense and is still able to manage being the most accurate qb PASSING (73%) and has the most passing yards. This guy came back from a shoulder injury hitting 100% of his pass on his first drive (In the pocket) hitting 4 different receivers. You guy, need to pay more attention, it;s not rocket science.

    • @Evry1srolemodel

      "you need to be a drop-back pocket passer, which Manziel is not". What? How do you explain 31 TD passes and 72% completion rating in the best conference in CFB? If you've watched any of his games this years, he's actually ran less Character Issues are highly overestimated. It's not effecting his play in any way shape or form and he's not a locker room cancer.

    • @misst9
      @misst9 11 років тому

      Dude he's 20. Of coarse he's isn't going to have NFL quality passes. No one does when they're 20. And also a good College defense doesn't compare to a good NFL defense. But with that said...given the proper coaching..maybe a change in attitude..and ability to improve with in the next 4 to 5 years with NFL experience...he could be one of the best. Is he now? No...could he be in the future..yes.

    Mariota vs Stanford: 250 yards 2 TDs -16 rushing yards
    Winston vs Miami: 325 yards 1 TD 2 INT 27 rushing yards

    but apparently, having a good defense wins you the heisman

    I honestly don't think St Louis will draft a qb in the first round, I know they have 2 picks but I see them getting a WR & probably a OL. Since there is so much OL & WR talent in the first round. Second round I can see them looking at Aaron Murray or Aj McCarron as the eventual replacement.

    L.S.U. and Mizzu provided the blueprints for slowing down Johnny Football. Just keep him in the pocket and make him beat you from there. If he leaves the pocket, treat him like a RB. Now if Manziel can prove that those two games were merely flukes then he's a top 5 pick, if he can't then some team will have to be in a gambling mood to selected in the top 15. I don't think he'll get past the Raiders or the Browns in the 1st rd who could trade down and select him. NFL Comparison: Jeff Garcia passing ability, M.Vick exclusiveness.

      Having to play an 16 game schedule in the NFL won't protect him from having to play with injuries from time to time. Trust me! defenders who are just as fast or faster than Manziel are licking their chops waiting for an opportunity to lay the wood to him (5"11-207) when he leaves the pocket. For his sake I hope he becomes a pocket passer and only leaves the pocket when he has too...

    hes better than any other qb in draft. bridgewater has small hands, had busted coverages and wide open recievers cuz he played weak ass competition n played like 2 top 25 ranked teams in 40 career games. manziel played like 14 or 15 ranked team in 26 career games. bridgewater can barely throw the ball 50 yards wen he drops back and manziel can throw it that far on the run. mazniel blew up against actual good competition and not weak teams like bortles and bridgewater. bridgewater never had to play under pressure or on big stages like manziel cuz he pretty much blew everyone out cuz the teams sucked. hes a choke artist, at his combine wen he had pressure and all eyes on him he crumbled, which is wats gonna happen in the nfl. manziel steps up on the biggest stages, against the best competition, with a shitty defense behind him, and still puts up 50 points. that's wat nfl teams look for

J Manziel is NO Cam Newton he reminds me of RG3 and he will get hit a couple of times and be out for the season he is to small. However he has been one hell of a college QB.Wilson was a pass first qb out of college and bigger than JM .but i cant see him doing the same in the pros. I have no idea what player you've been watching. Sure, there are a few instances of Manzeil just throwing it up, but only in one occasion has it been to Mike Evans. The one everyone always refrences was in fact to Edward Pope, not Mike Evans. But in general, Johnny puts the ball where only his reciever can get it, not just lofting it up. There's a difference.

    Heck of a game. I know his receivers helped him a lot but he was pretty accurate and didn't make too many poor decisions against a solid defense. This was a highly anticipated game and he showed up. I'm not a huge Manziel or A&M fan, but I do respect the effort he and their offense gave. I'm only commenting on this game, so I don't want to hear anyone crying about what he does wrong. Except for that int in the end zone, which I know was a BIG mistake, he played damn near mistake-free football against one of the most respected teams in college football.

    I don't care what you guys say about JF but that kid has fight and heart in him. Down by several scores late in game he still fight and almost reel these guys to a win. If anything that AM defense sucks. That side has been pathetic the whole game. JF does a lot of things great he scrambles to hit targets, run for first down as a second options, and feed his play makers first. If anything I hope and pray his guy falls to Dallas. Dez, JF,and Murray will do some real damage in the league. JF will make sure Dez will get the ball and those guys emotions, heart, and fight will fuel, reengerize the team for many years...similar to Troy and Irvin.

    Not at all. He did it only twice, and the first time, it was a good decision because it would have been 4th down and if intercepted, Bama would have been further back than if they could have returned a punt (shows he doesn't care about his stats but about the win). For the 2nd one, if you have a 6'5 receiver surounded by 3 5'11 corners, he's either gonna catch it or get a pass-interference penalty. Win-win

    first off, it is impossible to make nfl throws when he is not playing in a nfl offensive system, second, as i said before, i could point a lot of passes that should have been deflected/intercepted, third comparing him to drew brees is nonsense (btw no one has ever thrown for more than 600 yards in single game) drew brees makes accurate throws in tight coverage/windows and doesn't need receivers running wide open down the field in a spread offense, the only good throw was 11:21

    wait... why are we comparing him to Wilson again? I wanna hear you state how him and Manziel are so alike. What exactly? His arm.. his speed, how he cuts? Everyones there own player. Comparisons just lead to misjudgement.

    Check out the ref at 3:57. He doesn't throw the flag until he confirms that he caught the ball. Maybe im looking too hard but that just looks funny and rigged to me.

    He's too reliant on just hucking the ball up and having a miraculous catch. Great game but his NFL stock is so-so. He'll make plays but he'll make mistakes as well.

    The only flaw about Manziel's game is the fact he had a tremendous 6'5" receiver in mike evans. In the NFL, some receivers are so good they make shitty quarterbacks like Matt Stafford, or Andy Dalton look good. We will just have to wait and see I guess

  • @xxNtGxx

    Good college player, won't do anything in the pros, helps having a stud receiver in Evans (almost half of Manziel's passing yards this year are to Evans).

  • @ridethebear9368

    @Sam Merrin. Russell Wilson isn't that great and Kaep at least looks around to see if he has an option before running most of the time. Plus, San Fransico has a good o-line. Wilson just has a good team, Wilson himself isn't very impressive. He is way overrated in my opinion. Plus, anybody playing against Denver's defense in the Super Bowl would have looked great. Tim Tebow would have looked awesome against Denver... Just saying, look up the injury history with running QBs, most are injured within the first few weeks. Kaep doesn't rely on his running game as much as Manziel and others. You can tell Manziel is going to try to rely on that way to much. It's cool to run once in a while, but if you do it every other play it's just a recipe for disaster in the NFL. I'm just saying in my opinion he reminds me of Terrelle Pryor. Watch Pryors highlights, they are very similar, then when he started in the NFL he relied heavily on his run game, in his first season as a starter he had a concussion and a leg injury from being tackled and was benched for like 6 games.. Running QBs are cool and have some "flash", I mean, Pryor broke the nfl record for running a 93 yard td from scrimmage on the first play against the steelers. But, he didn't have many TDs and he had way too many interceptions for under thrown passes(like Manziel in this video) and ran backwards(like Manziel in this video) but unlike college, the NFL guys would have slammed him down..loss of 20 yards.. He might be a good QB but I don't think he will last if he plays like this.

    Funny how many people here will defend Johnny as if he can "do no wrong". He is undoubtedly one of the most exciting players I have ever watched, and he can do some absolutely spectacular things. But there are plenty of instances in this game as well as many others that expose some of Johnny's problems as a quarterback, especially as one at an NFL level.
    It will be interesting to see what teams focus more on come draft time. The positives or the negatives.

    It's funny, all of those floaters that were under thrown are picks in the NFL. But because the DBs were snoozing he got away with it. He doesn't really look that fast to me either. The holes in an NFL line won't be half that big so all his scrambling will be a lot tougher to get back to the line of scrimage. I don't see what the big deal is. Mike Vick was way better with a better arm and look how he fared!

    • @jamesjohnson-mo8iw
      @jamesjohnson-mo8iw 10 років тому +3

      remember though once upon a time Mike Vick was arguably the most dynamic player in the League. Then he even enjoyed success after he got out of prison until the last two years where his age finally caught up with him. Johnny Manziel will have to make some adjustments but if he does what he needs to do he'll be just fine

      Nobody said he wouldnt get injured i just said hes a playmaker. Everyone gets caught even vick who used to be a 4.3 guy but you cant argue that manziels not a playmaker. He had one of the best college careers ever and his highlight videos all together are probaly 30 minutes long. Nick sabans considered one of the best defensive minds in football and he had no answer for johnny manziel either time, that has to mean something
