- Epic day. Epic chafing.
I was on course for a sub-24 hour finish until some chafing in my thighs hit me hard and I just simply couldn't manage it!

That chafing looks so bad. Awful. Stuff of nightmares. May I ask what you think caused it to get so bad? I've recently moved onto supposedly fully chafe proof running gear which seems to have helped but I sure want to avoid looking like your legs there
Vermont that year was particularly hot and like 100% humidity. I was using Squirrel's Nut Butter, but did not re-apply soon enough. It turns out that, after 60 miles or so, you really need to re-apply.
Owwww!! That looked brutal. Being a horse girl and an ultra runner, I wanted to do this race so badly when they ran both the horse and human race simultaneously. I was SO BUMMED when I found out they recently separated them. It was the last of its kind in the US.
In 2019, we had to run alongside horses still!
@@TheSeriousRunner Hmm I wonder if the person was wrong!? I thought they said it changed in the last few years. If so I'm signing up for next year!
daaaaaamn... that's gotta hurt
very much so.
Squirrel’s nut butter didn’t work? No one had petroleum jelly there?
