The Rhodes one is the worst mostly because he kidnapped a guy and locked him in his basement. If you free the guy you can get a Lancaster very early so that’s a big priority for my playthroughs.
Like in real life each gunsmith got their own preferences but they sell them well regardless. Mr shcultz and chu ling got a rather good love for the 2 german pistols, especially shcultz. The way he sells the mauser and semi automatic shows his love of his nation's own guns. Damn good ones too. If we had met him in rdr1 if that was possible he would regard the new mauser and say, "Ah, the mauser broomhandle. A fine self loading gun, uses stripper clips but its also fully automatic. A far ahead of the othwer semi automatic guns this fully automatic gun hold 15 rounds and practically double the amount of other pistols. Be cautious though, as its fully automatic it chews as much as it spits. So only go full auto if you are sure.
From what I understand it was among a group of stuff sold as "parlor pistols". It was something that people would pass around and shoot recreationally, sometimes even indoors.
i honestly love online the all the merchants comment mention if its the first time or if its been a while since they seen you. really gives you that sense that they care.
Curious, the voice lines about the litchfield are way off. They speak of it as if it's the first repeater you get after the carbine (when it's actually the lancaster you get first) and consistently say the wrong number of rounds. And a few of them just straight up mix up their lines for the lancaster and litchfield
This isn't quite *all* of their commentary, as a few weapons (can't remember how many, probably not all of them, but definitely a few) have alternate commentary for the same Gunsmith. I remember it for the Semi-Auto Shotgun and I think a rifle, maybe more, but sometimes the same gunsmith will start giving different commentary. Nevertheless, good vid, only person on YT with these. Also, this video didn't cover the Lever Action Shotgun, which does have lines from each Gunsmith like the other weapons you covered.
@@ShadowSearcher31 I don't believe so. The Evans Repeater wasn't present at release, which means lines most likely weren't recorded for it. I assume the same is true for the Navy Revolver, the previously PC-exclusive semi-automatic pistol, and the Elephant Rifle.
As a gun nut I boycott the Carcano by not using it lol. No way it should be this accurate or effective at long range. I mean damn, at least make it a standard long barreled Carcano, not the lil carbine we ended up with... Anyway, the Krag may not be as good, but it gets the job done well enough 😅
Both, but there are restrictions on certain guns and locations. Interesting stuff so copypasted what I just read: When reading the catalogue at a gunsmith, you have the option to "view" guns that you haven't purchased yet. This will make the shop owner in question place the weapon on the table, after which they will discuss what they think of the weapon in question. The foresight comes in when each gunsmith has lines discussing the Semi-Automatic and Mauser Pistols, even though only two of the game's five gunsmiths sell them in singleplayernote the ones in Valentine and Saint Denis, if you're wondering - in Online, these two guns can be purchased from every gunsmith. But what is definitely a shining example of Developer's Foresight is that each gunsmith has lines discussing the Cattleman Revolver and the Carbine Repeater - even though it's impossible to view these two weapons, as they are given to the player from the very beginning of the game in both singleplayer and Online, and the player is unable to view guns they already ownnote In singleplayer, the Sawed-off Shotgun is also given to the player very early on, but the player has to buy it in Online. PC players only found this out via looking through the game's files. Source tvtropes
There is something wonderful about multiple people all with different accents talking about classical weapons
Fancy seeing you here
I love that German dude's enthusiasm
Especially when it comes down to Borchartd and Mauser pistols, other gunsmiths seems to bash those guns
I love how bro said "Hmm, maybe someone looking to get their guns cleaned might want a bath too." And opened a motel in his gunstore.

Guy with a Texan accent saying the carcano "will be a favorite 'round here"
Is he a time traveler? (Just realized this could technically be the case considering there is a time traveler in the game)
A presidential favourite, you might say.
Thank you, i love listening gunsmith from annesburg.

Thanks for this. I was wondering what they all had to say about them
The comments on the volcanic pistol all make me laugh because the actual volcanic repeating pistol was unironically the most underpowered garbage.
The one in game is a fictional version that was an updated design. You can actually read that on the catalog
The gun was so bad that one guy bought the gun to shot himself in the head.
He returned the gun with 5 head wounds...

I like how they made up fake brand names for the guns like Hutton and Baird replacing Smith and Wesson.
Lancaster is the in-universe equivalent to Winchester too

I'm impressed they bothered to give tumbleweed's smith unique voicelines, given you will most like met him after buying every single gun in the game.

Who else always called it the “sko field “ and never knew it was pronounced “show field”?
I did, ever since I saw it in the Fistful Of Frags game
Idk if he’s meant to be like that but the one in Annesburg is kinda weird
Is the one in in annesburg Russian?
I honestly do not know what a Czech accent sounds like, but if he doesn't sound German nor Russian to you, my third guess would be that he's Moravian.
Sounds like a Norwegian speaking English in my opinion.
He's German.
