Such a fantastic documentary, it is a shame that it only has 3k views.

The UK has tried a couple of schemes in different towns and prescribed legal heroin to a few lucky addicts, i think addicts should get this treatment and stop criminalising addicts, some countries have fully implemented legal heroin to addicts and helped them to get life back! why did the UK try this only to stop and why only to a few addicts? is there anywhere in the UK that prescribes now 2015? if so where and how does someone go about getting this type of treatment in the UK?

interesting, educational, I just feel bad for the addicts, it seems like a continous nightmare, suffering physically without the drug, having to take it to be normal and not for a high, wow, I pray for you guys and hope you are relieved of your sufferings

Imagine the drugs are now legally prescribed. What are the hardened criminal going to do for fast money? That is something to think about.

Not only does legalization destroy the black market for heroin, taking away the livings of countless criminals and nasty people, it also takes the allure away from heoin. If heroin is something that's an awful drug that you can hooked on AND it's something the health department can dispense, it's no longer cool. It would be INSANE for the Government and the law makers of this country NOT to follow this doctors advice. I'm going to share this documentary with as many people as possible.

"addiction has gone down by 90%"
Why can't governments see this is the best option? I mean, it won't hurt to at least TRY this approach. The USA, and others countries are failing with their tatics, just put them in jail. Jail jail jail, it doesn't work! Just legalize it and watch all the problems dissolve.

He should have said all that when he was in the position to have something done about it!!

@freerangebiped That's a very good comparison to make. As soon as you criminalize something, a black market is created and it ruins a sizeable portion of society and affects the whole of society at large as well.

@stecal2004 Whenever a drug expert says anything that goes against the Governments official line, they have to resign or get sacked it seems. Dr. Nutt I think it was had to step down when he simply told facts about drugs.

Most addicts don't want to remain an addict. Prescribe heroin and give them the opportunity to get their lives together. Politicians! It's time to do the right thing rather than worry about votes and what the ignorant think!

it must have been a struggle to get clean and congrats on that, also your entitled to your opinion but legalising it would benefit everyone addict or not
