A Collie Dog consisted of a collie dog leg feather which had a natural curl to the hair and could be up to 10 - 12 6:54 inches long, it is not easy to find but can be substituted with Colobus Monkey.
The Original Collie Dog only consisted of the leg feather from a Collie Dog, nothing else, there was a natural curl to the hair, very hard to find nowadays but can be substituted with Colobus Monkey which has the same curl.
@SeanWoodsFishing There is some rivalry as to where it was originally from Some say Helmsdale others Brora the fly is documented as used on both rivers also the Thurso and Naver Rivers believed to be one of or the earliest ever hair winged flies, we may never find out the mystery of the Collie Dog.
