I bought your book Boats and Harbors this past winter now I can't wait to give this one a go! Thank you so much for showing us how to do it! You made it look easy peasy! 😊
Your paintings are so real because, I think, you don't care what a thing is, but just what it looks like. I have watched and listened to you in many videos, and detail that isn't (detail), gubbins and squiggly bits reign supreme. I have a habit of trying to work out what it really is and in my mind's eye see a "technical drawing" rather than what I actually see. Of course my talent is not good enough to do either so it looks crap. Thanks Charles for giving me this Damascus experience.
What an amazing seascapes with boats Charles , as always enjoyed your video which calmly explained how to create a picture with detail depth and colour. Thanks greatly appreciated stay safe
Thanks Charles you are so easy to understand and the talent you have is incredible. Thanks for giving up your time to teach us appreciative mere mortals Please 🙏 continue your excellent tutorials , thanks again.
I love boats in a lovely painting. 18:50 - a seat in a small boat is a thwart - a rope is a painter and an oar can also be a sweep. (a person can also be boring ;)
Thank you, Gail, too. As always you make it look so easy. I guess that after so many years it just comes naturally. Thanks for the many tips and tricks. Keep safe.
During my brief time in the Royal Navy "gubbins" was definitely a nautical term, in so much as it was used all the time on HMS Bristol when I served aboard her!
Mr. Evans, would you consider doing a video of the 3 riders painting that is behind you? Thank you! I enjoy your videos and I have your pocket book for watercolor.
Love your videos Charles. Very helpful for a beginner like me. Question for you: Do you squeeze out fresh paint into your palette for each new painting? Or use the dried paint already in there? Cheers.
Charles, stupid question: What is the main pros and cons between painting with water colour and using thinned acrylic like a water colour medium? I know with the acrylic one can paint light over dark etc.
Oh, apologies, I asked that before getting to the end and you showed a pad of the same paper, which I believe is not the cotton paper. As a beginner, who has heard a lot of talk (with good reasons given, to be fair) about always using cotton paper, it's interesting to watch how well this paper performs. Thanks again.
I agree with all of the accolades! I also have a feeling that that you don't like trivia, but I'm having trouble with lighting. What wattage is in your lamp please.
Another great video Charles 👍🏻 must ask you how long have you had that pencil lol I don’t think I’ve ever seen you with a new pencil lol. Thanks for sharing too. Keep safe.

Hi Charles, great tutorial again, I loved the courses at your home, will they be starting again soon?
Everything is so uncertain at the moment!
Mr. Evans, would you consider doing a video of the 3 riders painting that is behind you? Thank you! I enjoy your videos and I have your pocket book for watercolor.
Thank you so pleased you like them. I’m afraid something like that would take far too long for a video.
Really enjoyed this demo thankyou

a beginner like me. Question for you: Do you squeeze out fresh paint into your palette for each new painting? Or use the dried paint already in there? Cheers.
Nooo, I only squeeze out when I need more.
Charles, stupid question: What is the main pros and cons between painting with water colour and using thinned acrylic like a water colour medium? I know with the acrylic one can paint light over dark etc.
Watercolour is a softer, transparent medium.
Thanks for this, Charles. When you mentioned using Langston, is it Langston Prestige (100% cotton) or "regular" (100% woodfree)? Thanks!
Oh, apologies, I asked that before getting to the end and you showed a pad of the same paper, which I believe is not the cotton paper. Hi, it’s the regular one. If you look on my website everything is there.
Amazing - just a small question - what kind of easel do you use
Thank you. You can’t get them anymore, but always go for a metal one.
I agree with all of the accolades! I also have a feeling that that you don't like trivia, but I'm having trouble with lighting. What wattage is in your lamp please.
It’s just a 60 watt daylight bulb.
thanks, and I live in the US, and I can't find your "sand" color here, postage would be too costly, any ideas?
@@sheilat7497 don’t worry. No one can get it at the moment, as it’s being re made.
Ty again !!! Stay safe and Healthy
You too.
Another great video Charles 👍🏻 must ask you how long have you had that pencil lol I don’t think I’ve ever seen you with a new pencil lol. Thanks for sharing too. Keep safe.
