- The Toyota Rush GR Sport Is The SUV Nobody Asked For [Car Feature]
The 2022 Toyota Rush GR Sport is the latest top-spec variant of the local Toyota Rush line up, replacing the Toyota Rush G. With the addition of some GR Sport bits and pieces, the 2022 Toyota Rush GR-Sport also increased its asking price. In this Filipino car review, we take a tour of the 2022 Toyota Rush GR-Sport to see if it can justify the asking price. The prize also puts it well within the same price segment as the Toyota Avanza and the all new Toyota Veloz. The Toyota Rush serves a very different market segment over the Toyota Veloz and the Toyota Avanza, reasons why Toyota still kept it in the line up. However, a sporty version of the Toyota Rush does not go well with this, especially one that is priced like this but only gets a few GRS bits and pieces.

Sir Reygan? Which one will you recommend? Veloz V, Avanza G or Rush GR
Ano yan???
I really like your no holds barred and honest-to-goodness reviews. keep it up Reygan!
a fearless review yet very informative... Kudos always!
I really like the unbiased review and the recommendation at the end.
I like the honest review esp on how the GR treatment was added. Definitely a must watch review for Toyota Rush buyers
Thanks!
Great comparison to the G and other variants as you have thoroughly mentioned.. Keep these videos coming!
Glad you like them!
I dig how you’re able to say that in their home turf. And I wholeheartedly agree! Most if not all GR Sport variants look too much like a lazy cash grab, like Toyota isn’t even really trying. I suppose they’ve gotten so big and people in general think like they can do no wrong.
I don't know why I would buy this GR sport over the other variants, looks similar to me. Great and honest review there
Honest review as always. Great👍🏻
Good that Toyota still offers a pocket friendly product for those of you respecting the old school BOF chassis RWD platforms. I like the Rush for its remarkable engineering. Keeping the weight of a 4.4M, BOF, RWD setup down to 1220kgs is no ordinary task. I wish we had this vehicle here in India.
Manual transmission and key ignition adds to the fun. I enjoyed starting my old Innova in gear without pressing the clutch. Micro hybrid launch control of sort 😉.
Thank you Sir Reygan for a brave honest review!
Honest! Straight to the point! Keeping it REAL! Nice!
Thank you!
i love the honest review. Thank you.
looking forward to more reviews in the future
Thanks for sharing your unbiased assessment 👍
A 76k price bump for a few badges & no safety sense, I might as well go for the G Variant & upgrade it, it'll be less than 76k. The ladder chassis & RWD is what sets this apart fr other vehicles in its segment, its practical & sturdy. Kudos to your sincere review 🎉🥂
GREAT Review....
This review made me decide to go for 2023 Honda BR-V S CVT.
verry impormative review thanks kuya Reygan!
Glad you like it!
If the GR sport was an upgrade option, I might consider it for the MT E variant. A 4 speed AT is not sporty at all.
nag sub ako from RIT channel :D nonoob ako ng mga Miata vlogs hahah!
This is i like the most with this channel if sir reygan’s very honest reviews(heck yeah why you spend and paid extra 76k for only slapping gr badge on the exterior of this car?)
Good observation.. Good job boss. I totally agree. Sana all. hehe
I have been considering this model. Thank you so much for this review. This has been a game changer. ❤❤
Hi sir! New sub here from Dubai. I own subaru xv, but after watching your mazda episodes im beginning to consider mazda cx-5 diesel as our family car in Phil. Please let me know which dealer has the best promo and discount. I tried to inquire from one dealer outside manila but they don’t offer discount for cash due to limited quantity
Well said. What can you recommend, please.
They should have put GR emblems in the interior as well as leather seats with gr logo
Wish they upgraded the infotainment and added cruise control. It could probably be worth it with the price bump.
The infotainment is actually upgraded
I hope that the rush will have a center arm rest or console tnx
They should have just come out with a variant that has 5 leather seats, Wireless Celphone charger. Leather on the dashboard and steering wheel. Call it “Avanza - Lexus Line”
I mean “Rush-Lexus Line”
In Indonesia the rush GR variant have an Idling start stop system feature
Solid burn to rush 😅. I like it! 👍
As an owner of a Toyota Rush, I have to agree. Why slap on the GR-S badge on the Toyota Rush when nothing new is added to the table?
Sir, is the white color won’t fade in the long time?
For real. I didn't hear anyone ask for this.
ito pa isa, daldal mo
You basically exposed a scam at that dealership. Good job!
Can anybody tel me,,, What is the rpm's at say 70-90-110 kl hour, on a flat highway with driver and passenger only ??. Also does the manual version perform better at highway speeds ??. And what about noise levels ?. thanks.
70 - 2200
90 - 2900
110 - 3300
Es genial la camioneta netamente familiar
Nice doc?insurance warranty?
the title had me wheezing
Reygan is very disappointed as there are minimal changes only in this sports variant to other variants. 🤔
In waiting for grandia elite gr, just want to see how it looks like ahahahha
The way it’s priced and spec it seems Toyota is pushing the Avanza and Veloz to sell more. Bitin sa upgrade.
Is it a roof rack ready car?
So with Rush GR variant, are they also removing the G variant anytime soon? I remember from your last video on Altis GR, Toyota is removing the V variant. Which I think ridiculous move of Toyota. I'd rather be contented with the G/V variant over these body kits upgrade which I can also avail after market and cheaper I guess? Anyway, just a personal opinion.
They've already removed the G variant for this car. All that's left is this variant and the E variant
Nice unbiased review. I think toyota dont need to upscale the materials or techs of their products in order to sell. Just being a toyota will sell their cars nevertheless. Anyway not a fan of the brand.
In all fairness, you dont need alot of engine power. In the provinces the roads are not really suitable for speeds of 100 kph or more. And in Cebu Davao or Manilla the traffic is so bad you wont be going anywhere near 100 either. So 100 hp is plenty for most people.
Napo fold ba yung 2nd row sits?
Sir Reygan would you recommend this Rush GR over the 2023 expander.? My only issue with the expander, veloz and avanza is the front wheel drive I believe rear wheel drive is far better than FWD.. pls enlighten me regarding this.. but all of these Cars are amazing thanks 🙏
Expander has low ground clearance
FWDs are inherently more fuel-efficient than RWDs, especially when driving through heavy city traffic. That said, if you're expecting to use it at near if not full passenger capacity and/or cargo load for most of the time, RWDs won't disappoint especially at climbs. Same reason why vans and trucks are RWDs. IMO lesser fuel efficiency is a good price to pay if you want to haul. Can't deny it though, mas pogi yung latest Xpander.
Still cant decide Rush or Xpander Cross
Thanks! Bought it from a fellow Miata Club member, who imported it from Japan.
Mitsubishi Strada athlete 4x2 A/T 2022 Black series!!! Review
Which is better veloz or rush?
Go for the Veloz if you want more features and an all-around good family car. Go for the Rush if you prefer a higher ground clearance for some slight off-road capability and rear-wheel drive
In Indonesia this variant based on s variant
Howbout engine performance as GR sport on your review? Why focus on exterior & interior?
Its the same engine as g variant
They should have just given it rear disk brakes for 76k.
Would choose this car over Veloz if it wasn't 4-speed automatic.
The only reason I didn't buy the gr rush was no arm rest, plain interior and crappy radio..disappointed.. I bought the veloz instead..MPV and beautiful interior
low ground clearance bad decision
veloz looks like a caro, IMO. but yes definitely more advance in features
Teliscopic,arm rest,leather sets,& hp ,
whats weird is that gear box is the almost the same as our avanza 2011, come on toyota do something about your interior atleast upgrade it a lil bit
both are rebadge daihatsu
Rush is a unibody not a body on a ladder frame chassis, greetings from Egypt
same price lang ba to ng G variant? sabi kasi ipphase out na daw yun
G variant is gone
Agree with this review haha parang sablay yung upgrade nila top of the line walang arm rest manlang
If you want to go out of town buy a M.Expander. If you want to go out of town and come home, buy a Toyota Rush. : )
wut?
At that price, get the top-trim Veloz and call it a day. 😊
low ground clearance
@@johnbrando2666 Unfortunately, you are correct. I think on paper it's about 190mm. But I've seen these on the road. That bottom "flap" up front negates most of it. That will definitely scrape obstacles.
@@johnbrando2666 no problem with ground clearance since puede nman palitan gulong to make it higher
@@Mika-vi1te Its performance will suffer though
@@johnbrando2666 you can’t have everything in a car and it will always depend on consumer’s needs. Kung sa bahain at maputik ka nakatira at sira sira ang daan papunta, get a Rush or any car with high ground clearance. Paano mo masasabing bad decision to get an Avanza or Veloz e hindi naman ikaw ang gagamit? Lol. Owners ng old car models naghahanap ng negative sa new models pampalubag loob sa bulok nilang kotse. ~kung may kotse.
first sir
Matagtag ba?
I want to book suv suv rush kolkata
Daihatsu POS along with sa wigo and raize.
Price of rush?
In the video
That interior is very disappointing. it doesnt deserve to be called as Top of the line GR Sport model. if you are getting a Rush just save your money and get the lower variants and buy yourself a GR Sport badge and stick it on, the same product
TRUE !
sad but true
Lol
Hahaha. I don’t know, why toyota made a Rush GR sport?
With the same engine as the previous variant.
ill save money and get a tiggo 8 pro instead
In your own preference which would be better? Rush G GR-S or Veloz G CVT?
For family use, go for a Veloz. For off-road or heavy load carrier, Rush
Really Toyota? Hays buti nalang talaga nakabili kami ng Rush nung mura mura pa pero itong gr sport nah wag nalang kung kukuha man kayo ng toyota rush now mas better kung E manual or E automatic nalang HAHA
Every year nag babago ang price ng car sir. 🤦♂️
LOL hardcore toyota rush fans there 😂
Anything 4 speed is outdated. id rather take a CVT than 4 speed.
4 spd is far more reliable than the cvt
Rush is no suv by any means. Its a very good MPV however.
This is just right. Imagine if the interior is as good as the Fortuner. Fortuner sales will go down considering Diesel price is on a hike. Many will pick this over fortuner since its the "little brother". 🤷♂️
People nowadays tends to pick low gas consumption, looks and budget. Well ill still pick Rush over Xpander thats for sure. Its a Toyota.
new MPVs coming...
its hyundai stargazer
Id rather go with the Toyota Veloz
TOYOTA slaps GR badge on the exterior
TOYOTA: Ayt lets add 70k for that, filipinos will still definitely bite it
lol 🤣🤣
Ertiga Or XL-7 over this 😢
Not worth it theirs no changes as i expected
Toyota should just drop this nonsense of selling us more expensive variants with literally no difference from the lower ones except w/ the minimal added body kit which we could have ourselves installed for way cheaper. They did this to the Vios and the top of the line Wigo which has the same tiny low, powered engine except they slammed a bunch TRDS badges. Toyota. Just. Stop.
4 speed lang ba AT nya? cvt ba?
4-SPEED
I think I will still go for new avanza or veloz due to the cargo space. I haul long RC planes kasi
Nice Honest Fair Review . . .
Bad decision
The GRS was a waste of money. I would not spend my hard earned money for those extra plastic exterior, lol. They should have at least added front windshield defogger if they didn't want the whole toyota sense. Whoever designed this GRS should be fired.
Negative ng pagkakadescribe. 😅
Nakakasawa n ksi itsura wala man lng binago buti pa avanza
It's a badge not a sticker.
they will discontinue this soon, thats why they made this last ditch effort to sell the rush.
The veloz is way better than this.
Aesthetically, yes. But I think Veloz wont perform as the Rush in uphill and offroad terrains.
@@reviewqueen2937 Why use rush on offroad? it doesn't have all terrain tires.
I think the cvt has more freedom in finding the right gear than the 4 speed At of the rush
What about the uphill performance? I read comments that veloz has difficulty in the roads of baguio. I really am torn between the two
@@reviewqueen2937 If you will always go uphill and family, both are not the one for you.
You can either add a bit more for an innova E At or manual or try the okavango
@@ArcherArios22 idiot comment, in cities also there are offroads and even flooded muddy areas, the ground clearance makes the rush more capable. CVT reliability sucks than AT.
