I actually think every pauper deck can spin affinity and be improved by it. I'm running UB fae affinity, no snuff outs, plus rat (awesome with ninjas) and snacker
Not really. Tron doesn't mesh with affinity well. Red aggro and burn don't either. This is quite literally a copy and paste Grixis Affinity list that happens to play Broodscale combo as he states at the beginning of the video. If affinity were that strong, the pauper format would be nothing but affinity variants
When I first got into pauper like 10* years ago affinity ran quicksilver behemoth if you were afraid of running atog lol Has gearseeker made behemoth useless? I know he’s pretty slow but he’s big and cheep still
@@kalikaiz it’s a 6 generic 1 blue affinity for artifacts beast (not an artifact itself) that returns itself to hand if it attacks or blocks. Imo it should be a white card with its saltskitter like effect and I just kinda think the cards neat but it’s probably not good enough. There is some wirewood savage synergy though lol.
@@kalikaiz Couldn't say, maybe one Bargain. It'd also give you one more interaction spell maindeck if nothing else, or a 5th Galvanic of sorts if you sac an Enforcer. Btw, this mashup isn't even totally without merit. If you're against Broodscale, and stick Glee on a Refurbished Familiar, they have to have the full combo, or they'll die.
@@kalikaiz But at the end of the day both decks dont really synergize at all, and Affinity being a synergistic deck based on that mechanic means you really want the critical mass of artifacts and pay offs. It doesn't dilute Affinity enough to be just straight up bad, and sometimes you can just win with the combo, but you're sacrificing consistency and speed of both strategies. It just does not seem like it does anything. Decks that function on this axis like old Modern Twin or Pod either had the combo kills as synergistic enough that including them did almost nothing to dilute the decks main game plan, the combo pieces were still good without having the combo assembled, and you could just as easily side the combo out in matchups where it was bad enough and still have a competent deck that could win OR focus even more on the combo. In this build drawing Broodscale without Glee is ass and Glee on anything else is just fine depending on the board state and access to Munitions. The combo doesnt synergize with anything else affinity does and you need to pay full price to make the token and combo off since you have no cards to set that up. You're only running 3-3 of the pieces so that already tells me the card is probably weak enough to not even warrant being included here. Theres zero protection main deck and no hand disruption so you already want to just side out the combo in some matchups probably anyway. Idk, id love to be proven wrong but on paper this just seems like ass.
