Nice run Fox! I like how you weave in the Compressed Slash and Full Release Slash! I would like to point out for anyone in the comments: 1. Changes can still be made - see Hunting Horn in base Rise after the demo 2. Demo weapons and armor skills do not necessarily reflect the state of the weapon in the main game (see MH World demo Dual Blades vs. main game)
Switch axe feels a little too slow right now to me. Or maybe just a little animation locky idk what it is but it feels like most of the combos I try to do get stuffed or just completely whiff constantly. Also the sword parry feels off. You take a ton of damage when using it and get animation locked into the follow up instead of being allowed to choose what follow up you want to do. Just feels bad against the other monsters imo. Obviously this thing is just a punching bag but the risk reward for swaxe just feels off to me atm.
As a Swaxe main in rise right now, it's not peak Swaxe. I agree with BloodyWyverian, it's peak sword mode. Yeah you've got Rapid morph but all the damage is in sword mode. Gauge management is null in rise as is Amp state. I like this direction that wilds is headed in because i have to Switch between modes, and I just don't want an overreliance on FRS. I think it'd be awesome to weave in for those damage windows. I think most players need to look at their own mindsets and instead of thinking "how can I play what last game had" they should be thinking about how the weapon should move in the new system.
So I have only ever used switch axe until now and somehow after switching to long sword im clearing faster with less effort. I really miss sunbreak switch axe
@@Hale_89 yes they changed almost the entire Kit and in Sunbreak SA was just crazy. The Damage output isnt that great compared to the other Beta Weapons But i hope it gets better with some tax skills when the final game is out.
@@FoxInvictus Power Phial Switch Axe with no complementary skills (or ways to instantly amp like in Sunbreak) does sound rough as far as damage output goes, but yeah, it is just a beta
It's a bit of a shame how they've killed Sunbreak's infinite combo. We will have to see whether to move to another weapon or see if we can make it shine. Anyway, nice video :D
Yeah loss of infinite combo feels bit rough but I feel they are trying to turn Switch axe more into fluid combo weapon. As in it felt like each different attack had different morph attack that does different things and different ways to trigger element discharge. So instead of spamming same combo until monster is dead like in sunbreak, you might have to have more like a flow chart in your head for different scenarios. Let's see where it goes once we have access to proper good armor sets and decos.
Thanks fox! I've been craving swaxe gameplay until it drops for PC. Sweet run!

I didnt had that much freetime - but Kage already dropped a video with Rey Dau Switch Axe in 10 minutes, so you can check it out :)
I've learned so much from watching both of you. Keep up the Swag
i'm impressed

Same feelings here I don’t know what to think… As a main SA playing wilds beta made me realize how rise SA was good

You said it also no Bread and Butter Cheese Combo makes it hard to calculate everything and compare

Nice run! No ZSD required. Was the move you constantly used Unbridled Slash? Or Full Release Slash?
R2 + Triangle + Circle 😅
