But the second they actually started dating I was so overwhelmed with joy simply because it was done right and naturally (and they're cute as hell together)

I managed to get my friends into the Owl House. During the Grom episode, one of my friends was adament that the show would ship Amity and Willow. He left to get us more snacks after the fight, saying that "he didn't need to see himself proven right", and ended up missing the reveal that Amity liked Luz. The rest of us told him that he missed nothing of interest, and waited to see how long it'd take him to figure it out. It may just be because he's stubborn, but he only realised at the library episode. When we asked him how he didn't realise earlier, he said that he thought Luz would get with the Golden Guard (because he "saw an anti-hero in him", I guess he wasn't entirely wrong), and that Disney would never have a main character be in a same-sex relationship. Then we reminded him that Disney cancelled the Owl House.
We stan owl club users, based and hootypilled! On a serious note, i love this show so much and the hope of having a relationship even a fraction as good as theirs is very potent, even after the show ended a while ago now. ❤ you owl house!

I don't really see her as closeted during these scenes. I think she's trying not to let her attraction toux affect her school goal of being the best of the best because her parents, mainly her mom, put that pressure on her for a long time, and she didn't want to let them down.
