Thank you being detailed and fast-forwarding rather than skipping forward.
I love you bro! You made great videos about SF and helped people
Thank you man 😊
Man I have to do the oil change on mine next week...you saved my life 🤣😘
Great vid … thanks all the way from Australia. Cheers.
Gotta say, I 100% agree with your regular oil servicing. Not being a Ducati V4 owner, that has to be one of the smallest oil filters I’ve seen on motorbikes.
Hey great instructional video, but I want to make sure that i understand the removal of the oil cover, the 3 screws that you used they work in to the cover but not in to the case?? and they make presure on the civer to slide down??
Thanks
Thanks for the tutorial. I just got my first Ducati (Streetfighter) and your oil filter cover removal made things a lot easier than it would have been. Did the street fighter have just the one oil filter or dies it also have a mesh screen?
Hey Cali quick question, after the oil change do you know how to set the service date for the next interval?
Again love the vids... does doing the oil change your self mess with the warranty? Just got mine and got the extended warranty with it. I'm about to hit the 200mi mark. And I have always done the oild on the hyper and the diavel..
nice video!!
just for these V4 engines u gotta let it drain for 2 hrs due to 4 oil pumps. so if u wanna check ur oil level make sure ur bike is been sitting for 2 hrs for correct reading...
Squeeze the Boss with your fingers on the “O”rings around the “O”ring lands toward one direction creating a relief to pull that “O”ring without using a pick. This will prevent a scratch on the “O”ring groves.
the oil level is higher when it sat down for 4 hrs ,
may I know the mark next at the window is to measure the oil level when it is hot or when it sat down for 4 hours ?
after I do my oil change, how can I erase the oil change light on the dash ?
Great Video. Thanks bud
Where did you get the M8 1.25 bolts from
Great vid. Thanks!
What do you do about service lights
man, I thought that's so hard but it looks like easy job.
Maybe stupid question, but does it void warranty if I change oil myself? Because manual says I should go for service every year / every 12.000 km
Shouldn't.
How much oil you actually ended up putting in?
Unfortunately there remains about 1/2 liter of old oil in the oil cooler due to its design. See where the in and out hoses are attached. And you will see shortly after engine start in the level check window that new oil gets contaminated :(
Good vid! First one!!!
Hey man, you have a cozy garage. Nice bikes too. You mentioned ocd, just a spot you missed there by the oil filter cap at 13:55
I have done 2 oil changes now. Have you found the bike only needs 3 litres as opposed to the 3.4 the book states?
I am curious to know as well.
I read several times that the 3.4 litres is too much and that it causes too much pressure leading to a water pump failure.
Any thoughts on that ?
Nice instructional video; however, one constructive comment. Although I am also a firm believer in regular oil changes, the first oil change should be around 600 miles as recommended. Most Ducati Tech's will tell you not to change the first oil until around 600 miles in order for the engine to break-in properly. Following the first oil change at around 600 miles I change the oil and filter every 3K miles. I've been doing this process on all my Duc's since 1995 and never had any engine issues.
Can you please make a video on scanner you are using to reset the service light?
There's no scanner to reset the light. Have to go to the dealer.
So it's the same bolts threads to extract oil cover just longer correct? About todo mine for the first time
Yup.
How much a lift like that cost?
Interesting that the holes on the black piece that holds the filter are threaded. Is it for this purpose?
Yes
Service light?
You should have put some new oil around the new o-rings on the cap.
Hello friend. Please, after changing the oil, does the OIL SERVICE message disappear automatically or not? Is it necessary to take the motorcycle to a dealership to delete the message? Thank you very much. A big hug. Marcelo
Pretty sure you need the scan tool to reset the light.
MIne slid very very well, and did not jump into the air like my MV F4RC did when it caught and edge. I hate to say this, but it slid well, 2x..... Laguna Seca Turn 11, and Chuck Turn15 CCW....Oooops...

Great video. One question how come you just don’t fill it up in one time if you already know how much oil it needs ?
Always better safe than sorry to double check.
I use the same oil in my XDiavel
Totally agree. Oil changes are cheap engine insurance 👍🏼
Good vid, thanks! So how much was the total amount of oil you ended up adding?
No worries, from what I’ve been reading it’s 3 litres, sump capacity is 3.4 🤙🏻
Hey, thanks for the video, what size bolts do I need to push that filter out?
That's what I want to know damnit lol
M8 1.25inch. Or M8 30MM
Thanks... good info!
@@CaliMotoTV Please do a video on how to set the SF V4 S suspension in the FIXED mode to set it in its SOFTEST setting... I did mine ( I'm not sure I did it right ) but it still does not ride nearly as comfortable as my 2019 Super Duke R...
have you been able to reset the service light on the display after an oil change or do you just live with it?
You have to have the dealer reset it. Some do it for a small fee.
@@CaliMotoTV thanks man. I was afraid of that.
You saved me 300$ Grazie!
Thank you! Which bike lift do you use?
@@CaliMotoTV Thanks!
How do you reset your maintenance light after the oil change? Do you take it to a dealer and if yes, did they charge you? Thanks!
Yes and yes.
Open flash will do it
Now can use MelcoDiag for reset oil service / annual service.
Im still trying to figure out why you said eurocycles has or had a k1300r in their window. They said they’ve never had one, not in SD or reno. You smoking some indica or something??🤣
Look at the rock chips the oil pan takes on. Kinda scary huh?
how often do you change the oil using Motul 300V?
@@CaliMotoTV thanks for the info bro.
Whats and where did you buy your bike lift?
That's our old lift. It's a harbor freight lift.
Not oil related, but anyone have the triangle warning light come on after 10seconds down the road? Mines on all the time. Just had first service done.
Did you change out any turn signals? When I did my tidy tail the light came on for me too. I sent it back to the manufacturer and he changed out the resistors for free and it works great now.
GSRCivic Yes I added the Ducati performance indicators. If they are working fine would that not eliminate that? Good call thanks! 👍🏼
They will work fine even if the resistance is off. From what I found out the 2020 bikes indicators are different from the 2019 and earlier. I have my rear sorted out now, furturis moto tidy tail, and I am trying to figure out what to do with the front and how to avoid the light from coming in again.
Hey guys! Fixed it! It was the tail tidy number plate light connection. All good now! 👍🏼
man I wish I could meet you
Didn’t you put in to much oil in? The dealer did it your way and the next morning I had to get 400 ml of oil out!
According to Ducati the procedure is to fill the bike with about 3-3.2 liters of oil. Run the bike for a few minutes then let it sit for 1.5-2 hours. After waiting, you can slowly top it off. I just did mine this way tonight.
FYI, Not using Ducati (shell) oil, warranty void.
If you drain the oil cold after the bike has sat for a few days wouldn't all the oil be in sump and just drain most out that way and not have to drain for 2 hrs? You could measure the amount to accurately put the same amount back in if the level was good before hand.
Plus all sediment would be at the bottom of the sump too.
Warming the bike up is just re circulating the old oil through the engine then the drain time goes up to 2hrs or more. Sorta makes no sense to warn it up.
The manual tells you to warm it up, then let it sit.
So basically letting it cool back down and alowing it to drain all back to sump before draining...
I think its allowing for people riding to the stealerships...
If at home and cold just drain it to get it all out.
Some people even let it drain over night...
No, warming up the oil makes it less viscous and flow better. Recirculation helps remove the particles on the passages and suspend them in the oil so they get drained with the oil. Just draining it cold only removes any debris that happened to be in the oil after it sat the rest stays in the passages.
The oil filter boss is a Press off ☺️design.
i like your t-shirt
ciao, mi diresti le coppie di serraggio newton metro
?
Oil drain plug 15nm, 3x bolts for filter cap 10nm (i see from manual V4 panigale)
More is better thazs is😘
For people who think it's failed engineering, the plug is behind and above where it's puking oil out of 😂
You also see him hit something hard before the bike shits itself
You be the judge
oops missed it sry
My motorcycle is no where near as valuable as the ducati Street fighter but a torque wrench is not, expensive and if you over tighten a drain bolt or filter housing expensive lesson,, if not tight enough,, oil out bike up the road,, from Northern Ireland,, good to see people who work on their bikes,,, but isn't there a ducati book with torque settings,, ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️
Motul 300V is racing oil... NOT for street use... I'd stick with the Ducati recommended Shell
Our bikes live 80% of their lives on track.
@@CaliMotoTV sick!!!
This guy is a mess 🤦
