You don't have to remove the upper control arm..You can reach them 3 bolts easy. Just turn the whee left take two out. turn it right and get the last one.
Great work....when I tap on the axle to push it back off the hub, it won't move..it's solid, sprayed penetrating oil on the spline...not sure it's going to separate?....The CV boot is stopping me from putting a socket on the 3 hub bolts...stupid design, bolts should have been moved 1/2 inch
Doing the same job... What happens if the top ball joint starts to spin while reassembling, do I need to replace it even if it isn't bad or just let it down to put pressure on it and tighten it? Thanks
I apply pressure(weight)to any spinning Parts(Ball Joints especially)Very common issue on older parts. Air power tools help too if you got access to that(spins faster).. Good Luck. Thanks for watching.
@@fishstix1299 Not Really.. I usually check Ball joints with the Tire on and car lifted off the ground. If the tire moves top to bottom..Then the Ball joint is loose. It's probably worn alittle anyways.. Spinning isn't saying its a Bad Ball Joint. Have to check like I said above. Good Luck! !
@@Garyjorges79 Thank you Sir.... I usually do check them like that but was removing the hub and it started spinning when I put it back together. Thanks again
I've been experiencing the same thing. Does yours when you turn full right or left and drive forward the wheels feel like they slip or hop. Its been acting up like that it kinda freaks me out lol. But I assumed it was my wheel bearing that were shot because I put the truck on jack stands. I wiggle the tire back and forth and there's play in the wheel big time so I assume when I steer while in motion it does that wheel slip on me and ruins the tires. Even the slightest turn I do at full position they begin to chirp
Sounds almost like it stuck in 4x4. My chirp really hard when its 4x4 when turning. If the wheel goes up and down its usually the ball joints or Front Hub Bearings.
@@Garyjorges79 thanks for your reply. I checked all around the front tires spin freely.. the ball joints control arms etc look fine. But when I give it a wiggle on the left side tire it does move back and forth like there's play in it. I check the left side and there is a little bit of play as well it's just more on the left.
Horrible video? Find somewhere else to be disrespectful. I think it was a great video. The goal was to remove the wheel bearings, the goal was accomplished. If you have a better way, just say it, don’t trash other people.
What’s the part number for this? I need to replace mine.
I'm not sure.. Just go to Ebay and Look up Detroit Axel. There very Helpful.
" ok im back" lmao 😂

Its an DIY Job. Thanks for Watching! !
Thanks for the video. I replaced the left side about 4 years ago, and now the right. I forgot some of the steps so this video was very helpful.
Thanks for watching and glad I could be assistance. Its not that bad of a Job once you get into it.
Thanks for good video, getting my bearing, same.
Welcome..👍
You should torque the axle nut. I think its 235 ft Ibs,
Yeah.. Ive been doing this for long.. I just know. I should've done it for the video though. Thanks for the tip.
A 35mm Socket is the same size as 1 3/8" Socket.
Thanks for that information

@@Garyjorges79 So the spinning inside isn't a sign of it being bad or separated? It has no movement in it when I started, just checking thanks again.

Great video, going to do this since my hub bearings are gone and make my 4x4 wonky when turning
