I would never even think to do this except for learning of it from you and Kat. I just suffer the creams, or use them less often, until they are done. 2024 the year of declutter. My mom passed away a year ago and neither dad nor myself wanted to deal. We still don’t but I did go thru her makeup. I forgot how much I purchased for her over the years so now I have things Im finding difficult to declutter. I also forgot how good the TwoFaced Peach eyeshadow palette is.

I love this type of videos so much, that I decided to create an inventory for myself last December. I'm very excited to see the statistics of my usage after a year. I'll do it on New Years Eve 😊
One thing I am always confused about samples and no longer keep. It's only a few uses and I can't tell if the item is effective or not. Really frustrating. I always declutter all my samples right away as I receive them now, which helps with using every item I purchase. Merry Christmas 🤶
Don't feel bad about your needing luxury moisturizer. My skin is so sensitive that, I have found, I need high end eye/eyebrow or any kind of pencil. I need sensitive skin ingredients in everything I use on my face/body up to and including laundry soap. Even my husband uses non-scented sensitive things in the shower because we share it and it might affect me. For some reason high end makeup does not include whatever makes my rosacea flair and bump out. The biggest change I made was many years ago. I never use anything that is scented. This was a game changer for me. I do use perfume, but that's it. I can control where that goes.
I had to purchase a bunch of sensitive skin face moisturisers when I was having radiotherapy on my head. I couldn't use any of my normal products, or anything with any actives in. Nor could I use any of my usual cleansers or any makeup. The moisturisers I was allowed to use are so thick and heavy and clog my skin up so as soon as I was able to stop I decided to use them as hand cream. Now I am just hoping that my skin isn't going to have a fit when I start re-introducing my old products to it. Although my eyebrows are still falling out so not sure how much I will be able to use for a while yet.
I used to do the same with samples. I used to keep them for travel. At some point, I saw that a week travel wasn't enough to finish most deluxe size, so I just started to used them everyday. I took me a year to use them all up. Since then, I used then when I receive them. They do pile un in a corner anymore.
Your numbers went down! Maybe not as much as you wanted but a lot has happened this last year. I always look forward to your inventory video each year.
Perhaps you should try to use your favorite categories with usage goals? Like 30 times of a certain blush and so on, I see other creators do this and it’s easier to maintain and reach goals and rotate your collection
In past years you've had really high declutter numbers - it makes sense that your overall count wouldn't shrink as much this year because your collection is whittled to mostly things you love now! Plus the move of course
Happy Holidays and WELL DONE, HAILEY!!!! You are almost HALF of where you were in 2019 and that's MASSIVE! I made it a goal to use the same number of products as days in each month and smashed it this year. I included samples in that count and it HELPS! I also do a 'Mini May' project where I do a full face of samples or 31 samples etc. It's so much fun and I feel good about moving things out. I can't wait for you to absolutely rock it in 2024 as always! Cheers!
I appreciate when you give the disclaimer that the math isn't mathing-I feel like I need that confirmation to stop overanalyzing, thinking I'm misunderstanding, haha. Regardless, these types of videos are so interesting! I do my own inventories and comparisons privately, and I found that almost every makeup category increased this year (skincare went down), but I also feel like I have a better grasp on my own preferences and needs so I guess it's okay? Hoping to decrease the count in every category for 2024 though!

It is a big goal but if samples count in that you can easily use a high number from that. Lips balms, and sheet mask could rack up quickly.
