ADiaspora (UK) perform Frusted at Breakin' Convention 2010
ADiaspora was formed in 2009 as a collaboration between Alessandra Seutin's Vocab Dance Company and Vicki Igbokwe's Uchenna Dance Company.
ADiaspora Collective was formed in 2009 after Uchenna Dance and Vocab Dance Company were selected and commissioned to present a collaboration piece for Collabo 2009 as part of East London Dance's, Dance Currents Season. Uchenna Dance Company was formed in 2009 by Vicki Igbokwe following her Trailblazer Fellowship from The Association of Dance of the African Diaspora (ADAD) from 2007-08. Vicki's artistic palette is formed from a rich blend of styles that come from both the contemporary and urban genres. Her work is very much rooted in how these two worlds meet to form a distinctive vocabulary of Uchenna Dance Company.
Vocab Dance Company is a dance theatre company led by Alesandra Seutin. It is renowned for producing a rich and modern movement language that bridges the gap between contemporary dance and Afro based styles. Alesandra has recently finished creating a commissioned duet for Phoenix Dance Theatre's 2009 season tour and Ashmeed Sohoye's 'Rigged' for Theatre Centre's 2009-10 tour. Vocab Dance Company is an associate company with East London Dance.
