Eight Week Embryo

A model of a human embryo at eight weeks development. The model was made for the "In the Womb" series of programmes produced by Pioneer productions and shown on National Geographic television in the US and Channel 4 television in the UK. These are motion control shots of the embryo lit as though light is glowing through the mother's body.
By eight weeks the limbs are showing the detail of fingers and toes. The Yolk sac is atill quite prominent in the human embryo at this stage. For clarity, these clips show the embryo without its amniotic and chorionic membranes within which it will complete its development.
