I’ve been trying to wrap my head around the level creator for days and thanks to you I finally understand! It’s obvious you’ve put a lot of effort into both this vid and your teaching skills in general, and it really shows :D This is the first I’ve seen from you and I look forward for more :) Have a great day, and thank you!
Tip: if you are using static. Use a guide trugger as your camera lock. It will show you what will be shown on the static screen. And if your moving your guide trigger on static it will show what is happening during movement (not in editor only whilst playtesting)
I’m having trouble with static on platformer mode, the camera locks when the music reaches the trigger and not when the player does, how do I fix this?
idk if this is just a me issue bu whenever i edit a level sometimes (with the static trigger specifically) the camrea transition will work in the editor but not when im actually playing the level and its weird
ausk, you know that static camera bug that happens when you stop static, then enter a gamemode portal. it breaks your camera. do you know any way to fix it?
Will this guide eventually go over how to actually build gameplay or are you just gonna show how all of the tools in the editor work? I already have a good idea of how they work but I'm not all that good at actually *building* the level itself as I have no experience in game design at all. Can I look to this guide to help me?
Yeah for sure. After tools and the editor itself, people also gotta learn how to use the tools to actually create a level, so I plan on doing a full level creating series!
does anyone know how to make the camera follow the player in the middle of the screen? like the icon in the middle and if you jump itll follow with the icon locked in the middle
Hey! The guide trigger is just a tool that serves as a guide to where the camera would be if it was centered on that very spot, it doesnt change the actual camera. For that, you gotta use the static trigger: give a group ID to the guide trigger, then add that group ID inside the static trigger. A lot of people have been asking me about the guide trigger, so i might make a video on it soon :)
12:01 what a smooth transition lol
hahah thanks! and yeah I really liked that one
i agree
the editing here is so smooth it makes me genuinely happy
:DDDD thanks so much
Lets count how many times he said “trigger”

Can’t wait for the 2 hour long full editor guide. This will help a lot thanks.

13:30 where did you get that half move button? there's none in my editor
can you make a tutorial on how to make the cam stay static when you spawn at the level, for plataformer mode ob
idk if this is just a me issue bu whenever i edit a level sometimes (with the static trigger specifically) the camrea transition will work in the editor but not when im actually playing the level and its weird
Thank you soooooooooooooooo mich
btw just use reverse on the orb. That will be a lot better
ausk, you know that static camera bug that happens when you stop static, then enter a gamemode portal. it breaks your camera. do you know any way to fix it?
14:50 basically padding works as a dead zone

How does the static work on platformer Bc it’s not working for me
I can’t even use static trigger on platformer HOW DOES THIS WORK

exit static doesnt work for me
How do you make the static trigger go out?
use the "exit static" option in the static trigger
bro how do you turn off the guide trigger
Did this happen to you too? It won’t work when I use guide trigger?
🔥
awesome
I still didn’t know how to use Guide trigger I place it and it won’t work???
Please someone tell me how to set the offset to move right and to get back at normal position
That was explained in the video, just use the offset (or offset gameplay) trigger and change the X value
Hi nice vid :)
I love edge, wait I don't meant that.
How do u use the guide camera i cant use it and i folowed this😢
How can I improve
heres a tip:
you cannot static an object if theres more objects with the same group
Yeah, since it needs to know the position of such object within that Group ID, dding more than one object would make it not work
So the guide trigger basically does nothing?
Exactly.
wtf
It does
static and edge trigger does'nt work for me i don't know why and I'm doing everything same like you, but nice vid
Only one single object must have the chosen Group ID. The Group ID can't be assigned to more than 1 object.
Sfx trigger??
i want to make a room platformer but the guide trigger doesnt work :(
Hey! The guide trigger is just a tool that serves as a guide to where the camera would be if it was centered on that very spot, it doesnt change the actual camera. For that, you gotta use the static trigger: give a group ID to the guide trigger, then add that group ID inside the static trigger.
