But also get playtesters to identify the points where people struggle the most 66: The amount of objects that go into a detail should usually be proportional to how much you'll actually notice it 71: Area/enter triggers can do this now, 0 groups 73: Literally any human being who sees that object would know this 76: Changing HSV of objects is useful but if you're reusing the same configuration multiple times just make a copy color channel for it Overall, the pattern with Waboo's video is that most of these aren't actually tips. You could tell he was just looking at random objects in the editor and going "what's an unconventional way to use this"

I'm glad this video exists. I watched the original tutorial and as someone who tries to care about optimization these days in their levels, I was dying internally when they posted tips that literally use 10x more objects than we needed for the same effect. That video had no regard for any sort of optimization and that should be a priority for any creators, to make their levels run for as many players as possible.
8:02 boy wouldn't it be nice to credit the creators who gave you tips for your video waboo (these 2 were mine) I'm genuinely kind of pissed off at how much he butchered the tips I was trying to give. The buildings using that one object actually DO look cool if you do it right. I use them for a very low object background in my level Night Walking. They're way more scaled up, with way fewer windows, and are only meant to represent a general silhouette. Also the 2 warped cloud objects mirrored is supposed to look like water splashing, not a "cooler cloud" 🤦
5:50 BPM Finder is NOT part of the mod, it's actually a new 2.2 feature that surprisingly nobody talked about. BPM Finder is a tool to simply find the BPM of the song by just tapping to the beat of the song without need to use third part tools like DAW, BPM Finder website or anything like that. And so that BPM value of the song that you used for your level can be used as a reference for BPM Trigger. I already told Waboo before that video uploaded, is that BPM Finder is a vanilla feature, but for some reason he just claimed it as part of mod feature 💀
1:27 Apparently less people know about this than I thought. The “Practice Music in Editor” checkbox is not locked behind a fee in the diamond shop. It exists to help players with creating. The regular practice music unlocker does require a fee but the ability to use it in created levels does not. This has been a thing for 2 years.
You can get orbs to not pulse by checking "No audio scale". I figured this out because they kept pulsing during a calm section in my level and I wanted them to stop. So I made them stop by using that.

18:42 I just realized the optical illusion, because there are blocks behind a spinning saw in a radial symmetry, it makes it look like they’re also spinning slowly
The bad thing about this is that im actually new to creating, and i watched waboo’s video expecting useful tips. I actually believed that some of these tips were good but realized others were bs like the circle tips and other stuff I felt like no ones gonna use (the 2 edited clouds inside each other 😅). Anyways, thanks for this video, if waboo makes more videos like this, then please go over them, I enjoyed this :D.
While we’re here, I remember clicking on waboo’s video on rare events in gd or something like that, realizing the numbers were more or less pulled from thin air, and then told yt to never recommend the channel to me again. Although I don’t create levels, it’s always good to stop misinfo. Nice video :)
Finally somebody going after waboo. He does very little research for any video, and it's just a bunch of clickbait and reused content. It feels almost like he doesn't even play geometry dash.
12:02 build helper is very useful but don't forget about spawn trigger remap system as well because it helps to make advanced actions (such that require more than 1 trigger) by using less objects than without it
Hey so I wanna put this out here but at "hack" #58, it was coming from me out of Waboo hitting me up if I have any sort of editor knowledge so I gave what I've got. To be honest, Waboo explained it really poorly and I kinda find it funny how he presented the wrong object. From what I've explained to Waboo is that I just think this specific crescent shaped object from what you presented is really good if you wanna make some lineart for art with the warp mechanic. I made the cat art as an example and I didn't expect that Waboo would put that in the vid, but I don't really mind that he didn't give me credit to be fair. Of course the cat isnt made entirely out of this one crescent object, I'm not a menace. idk why Waboo stated it that way. I heavily thank you for clearing it up in this video honestly, and great respect for trying your best to credit people who Waboo didn't even give credit in his vid.
12:42 Instead of fixing the orb to the player's x and y position, just fix it to the x position and put it in the ground. It will allow you to jump high while also not allowing you to keep jumping.
I was thinking just that but technically if you hold after clicking the orb it will jump like a normal cube (which actually might make for a cool gimmick).
People forgot that particle effects also could be very-very laggy, especially if there's a lot of particles in them, so keep that in mind, not everyone have a best PC in the world.
@@Pisburger but bro... You literally know its a waterfall, i want you to think what other thing that block can be that isnt a waterfall (block design doesnt count)
Thank you so much for this video. There was just something wrong with the original video but I couldn't tell what it is. It was just really painful to watch. Much support to you!
"There was just something wrong with the original video but I couldn't tell what it is." I know what was really wrong with the original video: The video Itself
1:04 also, in 2.2 we have an enter trigger that disables the enter effects (and the fade, because if it didn't, it would be the same as the other one we had before 2.2) We also have enter channels, so you can put for enter channel 0 that "Enter Effect Disabler" (should be named like that, in my opinion) and in enter channel 1, an enter effect, or backwards if more objects will use enter effects than the ones that won't, also, remember to put fading objects (the ones that are more visible at the borders of the screen) in enter channel 0, otherwise they won't fade
11:43 about that way of reparing, remember that some jumps may be impossible, so keep that in mind instead, you could activate 2p controls and static camera following an object (recommended the "Guide" Trigger) and make it move to the right with p2, and to the left with p1 (or backwards if you have the option to invert 2p controls, the final result won't have that system) and put all that stuff in a specific layer to then delete it, also, activate platformer for the level to not end or anything while using my method
Fun fact: i didnt know you had to put down two copies of the same trigger when making a trigger loop beforehand, thank you for this one little clip that completely fixed that issue for me! (18:26)
9:42 correction here, thats not actually all that this does. if you use something like an area trigger and one of the linked objects has group parent checked in extras then all the objects will move according to the object with group parent. this can also be done with an actual group parent however then that applies to every object with that group instead of just the objects theyre linked to
Great video, only thing i dont agree with is what you said about not stealing that swinging object trick. I think that creators shouldnt copy art, but using ideas or object usages is fine.
10:30 as someone who enjoys drawing and also wants to make a decent gd level one day, I could actually see this being fairly useful for implementing my own work into a level if needed though yeah, thievery isn't cool lol
14:19 This is literally stolen from another persons "glow block design tutorial" with no consent. Waboo, you literally can not do that, another reason why waboo is one of the worst gd youtubers. He has done acummy stuff like this in the past. The worst part is how overstimulated and child friendly it is, similar to xcreatorgoal(he has also done very scummy stuff).
Love this video, it not only does constructive criticism but also provides some useful tips that actually help me! Thanks so much Jeyzor!! Really love your vids man!!!!
what i do is rotate solid blocks with no collision and then i take those solid blocks with nothing inside and make them really small then i start placing them around the edge of the rotated block to make it seem like it has collision
dude, i'm a creator and that video made me laugh so damn much i can't even be mad at it, like holy shit the dude didn't care at all making that 10:31 ok but there is a discussion to be had here, if you made the art and import it this way into the game is it fine? idk how much the community agrees on this stuff, it is also possible to have this stuff in your level and get it rated, tho i don't know of any levels that use them a ton that are rated but prismatic haze has a fish image if you die at the end which idk if it was traced or generated but either way it is something that can be in rated levels atm
watching you react to this is like watching a toddler trying to teach a professional mathematician how to simplify and solve a quadratic equation, with the few good tips symbolising the few times the toddler would actually get it right by only chance
@@Jeyzor I apologise if that came off as rude, I have to say it made me laugh because it caught me by surprise. I had never thought that most people don't know how to pronounce words I'm so familiar with. The least I can do now is try to explain to say it in an English way, so: 'Sr' comes from 'Señor' (like Dr./Doctor) 'Gui' sounds like the 'gi' in 'give' 'lles' is 'yes' 'ter' is just that In conclusion: Señor Gi(ve)-yes-ter
The name derives from Guille, abbreviation of Guillermo, which is William in Spanish. I know that the 'GU-' usually causes trouble to Spanish learners and the 'LL' is usually understood as a weird singular L. Unlucky name choice to try to say, but being honest if I try to say something in Finnish surely is gonna be way worse, haha.
8:30 One time I accidentally turned this on, and I didn't know what it was and I didn't realize that I had either, so all of a sudden I couldn't select anything. I thought my game was bugging out, and I even considered uninstalling the game, before I saw a Reddit post from someone with the same problem. I avoided a lot of trouble.
9:26 Good tip for portals: You shouldnt rotate them anything but 90 degrees cause hitboxes in the editor do rotate but in the game they stay horizontal
I think its awesome that you gave good criticism while also being honest and admitting when a good tip was named. This is the definition of constructive
tip 70 is actually something i did for one of my levels, i had made the layout and then when decorating i started from the end and moved towards the start, of course to avoid lag on start pos.
3:33 that effect lags in mobile because of the particles, I don't really understand why it lags, I just know RobTop is *NOT* guilty for this, he made what he could
11:18 He said in his video that this should have taken hundreds of objects, then revealed that it's just one. Funnily, he pointed out "C: 1" as an object amount indicator; he didn't know that it's actually an object color indicator. Actual object amount shows up when you select multiple objects: "Objects: "

Finally somebody going after waboo. He does very little research for any video, and it's just a bunch of clickbait and reused content. It feels almost like he doesn't even play geometry dash.
Nah, that's a Skip the Tutorial minecraft tip video
I’m glad everyone is catching onto how sloppy Waboo’s content is. Awesome video

13k objects for a black canvas?
Guys, how do we tell him?
Stretching one of the no hitbox blocks would be easier
It was actually 25K objects... Even worse
I heavily thank you for clearing it up in this video honestly, and great respect for trying your best to credit people who Waboo didn't even give credit in his vid.
thank you for letting me know. yet another person who gave some real tips that waboo turned into nonsense. the cat looks great btw!
16:31 for 1 frame it said 25k objects
12:42 Instead of fixing the orb to the player's x and y position, just fix it to the x position and put it in the ground. It will allow you to jump high while also not allowing you to keep jumping.
I was thinking just that but technically if you hold after clicking the orb it will jump like a normal cube (which actually might make for a cool gimmick).
10:34 It's not even tracing, because at least people who are tracing take the effort of trying to trace it themselves.
Ok but cross eyed rob top icon was kinda insane

People forgot that particle effects also could be very-very laggy, especially if there's a lot of particles in them, so keep that in mind, not everyone have a best PC in the world.
Ikr as a person who like to spend my time in editor, i find that waboo's so called "tips" pretty weird or even pointless

"You can make a waterfall with waterfall objects"
This is good for newer players that didn't play the game when the waterfall block was used frequently back in early 2.1
@@Pisburger but bro... You literally know its a waterfall, i want you to think what other thing that block can be that isnt a waterfall (block design doesnt count)
@@Thenoname348 yes they may know that it's a "waterfall block" but they may not know how to use other blocks to make it look more like a waterfall.

10:42 its not theft if you draw it yourself and then import it. Thats what I do
or if u use copyright free images
aight this is off topic but is no one talking about how xaro's laugh became an earrape
Thank you so much for this video. There was just something wrong with the original video but I couldn't tell what it is. It was just really painful to watch. Much support to you!
"There was just something wrong with the original video but I couldn't tell what it is."
I know what was really wrong with the original video: The video Itself
The laugh at 4:12
9:00 I use static animation objects a ton for texturing, so that’s actually a good tip.
1:04 also, in 2.2 we have an enter trigger that disables the enter effects (and the fade, because if it didn't, it would be the same as the other one we had before 2.2)
We also have enter channels, so you can put for enter channel 0 that "Enter Effect Disabler" (should be named like that, in my opinion) and in enter channel 1, an enter effect, or backwards if more objects will use enter effects than the ones that won't, also, remember to put fading objects (the ones that are more visible at the borders of the screen) in enter channel 0, otherwise they won't fade
6:00 use the waterfall object to make a waterfall!
Loading screen tip:
11:43 about that way of reparing, remember that some jumps may be impossible, so keep that in mind
instead, you could activate 2p controls and static camera following an object (recommended the "Guide" Trigger) and make it move to the right with p2, and to the left with p1 (or backwards if you have the option to invert 2p controls, the final result won't have that system) and put all that stuff in a specific layer to then delete it, also, activate platformer for the level to not end or anything while using my method
oh! you're the person that's on princess' streams! it's cool to see that you're trying out making content of your own! keep it up!!!! ^w^
Fun fact: i didnt know you had to put down two copies of the same trigger when making a trigger loop beforehand, thank you for this one little clip that completely fixed that issue for me!
(18:26)
ill be honest adding xaro here was the great part of the video
9:42 correction here, thats not actually all that this does. if you use something like an area trigger and one of the linked objects has group parent checked in extras then all the objects will move according to the object with group parent. this can also be done with an actual group parent however then that applies to every object with that group instead of just the objects theyre linked to
I love Xaro's laugh, it really adds a lot :D
Great video, only thing i dont agree with is what you said about not stealing that swinging object trick. I think that creators shouldnt copy art, but using ideas or object usages is fine.
oh yeah, what I meant is you shouldn't steal it the whole thing but use the idea to make it your own
4:20 that tip only works for pre-1.6 core style
15:19 Theres a option in the Editor options called "Auto pause", and it pauses the playtest at the beggining. Use this instead.
10:30 as someone who enjoys drawing and also wants to make a decent gd level one day, I could actually see this being fairly useful for implementing my own work into a level if needed
though yeah, thievery isn't cool lol
14:19 This is literally stolen from another persons "glow block design tutorial" with no consent. Waboo, you literally can not do that, another reason why waboo is one of the worst gd youtubers. He has done acummy stuff like this in the past. The worst part is how overstimulated and child friendly it is, similar to xcreatorgoal(he has also done very scummy stuff).
The thumbnail and vid of that time stamp is by ilogistics btw
Love this video, it not only does constructive criticism but also provides some useful tips that actually help me! Thanks so much Jeyzor!! Really love your vids man!!!!
3:54 You actually can rotate solid objects with No Touch enabled in the Object Options it’s actually possible yet it will not have a hitbox.
what i do is rotate solid blocks with no collision and then i take those solid blocks with nothing inside and make them really small then i start placing them around the edge of the rotated block to make it seem like it has collision
10:15 out of context
BAHAHA
💀
It sounds a bit racist
8:17 wadaheel is that cloud man
1:37 idk why but i like how you say "just add decoration to the spikes"
dude, i'm a creator and that video made me laugh so damn much i can't even be mad at it, like holy shit the dude didn't care at all making that
10:31 ok but there is a discussion to be had here, if you made the art and import it this way into the game is it fine? idk how much the community agrees on this stuff, it is also possible to have this stuff in your level and get it rated, tho i don't know of any levels that use them a ton that are rated but prismatic haze has a fish image if you die at the end which idk if it was traced or generated but either way it is something that can be in rated levels atm
I was actually gonna ask, "what if it was my own art?"
watching you react to this is like watching a toddler trying to teach a professional mathematician how to simplify and solve a quadratic equation, with the few good tips symbolising the few times the toddler would actually get it right by only chance
1:06 that pronunciation of SrGuillester hurts on a psychological level you can't imagine
my bad :(
@@Jeyzor I apologise if that came off as rude, I have to say it made me laugh because it caught me by surprise. I had never thought that most people don't know how to pronounce words I'm so familiar with. The least I can do now is try to explain to say it in an English way, so:
'Sr' comes from 'Señor' (like Dr./Doctor)
'Gui' sounds like the 'gi' in 'give'
'lles' is 'yes'
'ter' is just that
In conclusion: Señor Gi(ve)-yes-ter
The name derives from Guille, abbreviation of Guillermo, which is William in Spanish. I know that the 'GU-' usually causes trouble to Spanish learners and the 'LL' is usually understood as a weird singular L. Unlucky name choice to try to say, but being honest if I try to say something in Finnish surely is gonna be way worse, haha.

8:30 One time I accidentally turned this on, and I didn't know what it was and I didn't realize that I had either, so all of a sudden I couldn't select anything. 3:33 that effect lags in mobile because of the particles, I don't really understand why it lags, I just know RobTop is *NOT* guilty for this, he made what he could
thank you for making that video watchable by adding right tips because its painful to watch the original video
11:18 He said in his video that this should have taken hundreds of objects, then revealed that it's just one. Funnily, he pointed out "C: 1" as an object amount indicator; he didn't know that it's actually an object color indicator. Actual object amount shows up when you select multiple objects: "Objects: "
1:23, you actually don't need to buy the object, it works but only on the level you may be tying to upload, it helps for sync and other stuff.😅
I swear, this should have been in the format of a CinemaSins video.
