I really hope he does well and gets to play in LCK. Would be so insane.
@@rrhalelol4668 we haven't seen him play support competitively yet, this should give him another (last probably) chance at high level competitivenplay
@rrhalelol4668 Well thank u for opening my eyes Mr. Expert. If u say he is bad.. he is done for. There is no coming back from that.
best scenario he's a bottom feeding lck support for a year then gets dropped
@@EE12345 trust me he will do much better than and BE MORE RELEVANT THAN your UPSHIT.
@@rrhalelol4668 i nean if frauds like nisqy and upshit can still play why not rekkles who has achieved much more than anything these 2 clowns.
I honestly think I agree. It's the opposite for Rekkles. I feel T1 is willing to gamble on him precisely BECAUSE they have the best Support in the World already and have no intention of changing it. So why not? It helps Rekkles learn, gives him a place to stay in Korea, it's huge for the Challenger brand, gets eyes on LCK CL. And then T1 probably gets to sell him for big if his stock goes higher as a support.
buy low sell high
Makes sense for T1 to make a move like this. Perhaps it’ll be valuable for Rekkless too. At the very least, it provides him with a platform to show what he can do.
Rekkles is the one who wants to join its a win for him to learn in Korea rather than learning in EU
It's certainly not a _reckless_ move
i mean yes they have the best support in the world but its not their choice on if keria stays since his contract is up its just whoever is willing to spend the most on him
If Rekkles gets promoted to any main LCK team, it will be his biggest middle finger to all LEC teams that did not make offers to him
Guma mentioned that keria and Zeus will be priority for t1 to re sign
@@Artaxerxes. I mean T1 will not dump shit on these two
@@rrhalelol4668u dumb? Theres lck academy and lck challengers, is a difference, he will play in lck challengers which is like erl, lck academg is one tier below and is actually made only of rookies
not really, unless he makes worlds or doesn't get dropped in a year it's meaningless
@@EE12345 nah you are burning 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Rekkles' motivation to play at the top level is next level.
Yeah idk why there is even any other way to interpret this. Assuming he's being paid the academy standard salary, it's quite obvious he's there to develop himself either as a person or a player, and what better place to do it than the org with the best talent production in the scene? T1 profits off the marketing value and a lot of other intangibles, while Rekkless gets to improve himself. It's really just a win win situation regardless of whether or not he eventually plays for T1. I think people just don't believe that a player as old as Rekkless genuinely wants to start from the beginning to improve as a pro player
I am personally happy to hear this. Been a Rekkles fan for years, and its been sad seeing him struggle to find his place on the pro scene again. Maybe playing in Korea will help him get his groove back.
From a huge LCK fan, I really hope he does well there.
All it says it they reached an agreement. That could mean a variety of things.
Putting yourself in the best team and learning from the same environment should theoretically only improve him as a player, even if he never plays for the main team or even in LCK. This means that he still has the drive to improve and was able to persuade the best team to help him.
i think this is more along the lines of being able to improve as a player as a support and will participate in scrims. its also a huge publicity move, and gives EU fans a reason to potentially watch the challenger league.
he is HIGHLY dedicated to improving and while i dont see him realistically going to the main team in a million years, having a veteran on a team full of rookies might be a good move. supports are usually fairly good shotcallers as well..and while the language barrier is VERY evident, its also possible he's fluent in korean or is learning to be fluent in it for a while now.
@@mwbwyatt I agree. In the rare chance he win LCK CL/Academy, I think that's a good for him to possibly go back to LEC.
Rekkles: I’m going to Korea to learn support!
T1: we’re going to make you a great adc!
Good for all - T1 and Rekkles both give each other cloud - especially for the lower T1 team / league - Rekkles gets to learn supp in the best team and region - and if he and the team perform there are many great options coming!

Rekkles can sub 2 positions if needed to it's a smart move from T1 for that alone, in case guma/keria gets injured like Faker, you can probably rely on Rekkles to at least not feed
Doublelift I've been following you since the CLG days as my favorite NA ADC player of all time. When it comes to Korea I love T1, so I'm a big fan here. I imagine and fantasize how cool it'd be if you got to play for T1 and if not then at least to be a part of T1's team/organization 😁
One thing is certain. He has to compete among great geniuses. This is definitely not an easy task. but I applaud his great courage and spirit of challenge.
I'm so glad Rekkles finally able to find a team and it's on one of the best team in the world
I've been a fan of Rekkles from the start so I'm really glad. However, I was more fan of him as ADC so I wish to see him back on ADC once he done playing with Support role
You act like he can just go back to playing adc after he pretty told everyone he is no longer good enough to play adc
@@antoniosiafitu9846 thats not even close to what he said
Rekkles is at the point of his life when he can literally do whatever he want at this point.
if he could do literally anything he'd at least be playing on the main roster
Is your general perception of life that dull to make that out of the comment?@@michielmanders9766
@@michielmanders9766 XDD what kind of comment is this barely any lec player can say that they even get on an lckcl team. there is max 3-5 that would even get any offers
@@rohan9539 I recommend actually reading the comments that you reply to lol
?
It's like faker said everyone has the potential to grow. You never stop learning and improving. Even 10 years later, he is still learning. Rekkles is taking this opportunity to grow in the best region in the world.
It’s like Faker said!
1 year later: "Tommorow Keria's gonna be sick, Rekkles you gotta join in !"
This is so crazy, this is legit the plot of the king's avatar man, I love this
Wait... was he Qiao Yi Fan or Fang Rui?
But i dont think Rekkless would be in the T1 main rosters. My theory he is there to learn.
Best of luck to Rekkles. He deserves better!
I think a lot of people in League also forget that players with as much history as Faker, Rekkles, etc. don't necessarily have to go anywhere anytime soon. For example in Dota 2 a player named Fear won the International when he was well into his 30s, I think he was actually 40 at the time of the win, and it was the first time NA won the tournament. As long as you are in good health and want to keep playing there is no reason to leave.
Crazy I never thought I’d see T1 rekkles
i think hes accomplished everything a western ADC can hope to accomplish. world finals won LEC a bunch. if he wants to spend the rest of his career as a support, learning under Keria is only going to be epic and i have a feeling it could be some hyperbolic time chamber shit for him. also may boost viewership for LCK CL which would be cool.
This year is going to be reckkles years let’s go
Rekkles in T1 is so sick
It is gonna be a huge news for LCK, because you never seen LCK imported any foreign region players

Rekkles has been learning silently Korean in the last year.... Moving there will only help him achieve better communication. LIke I know for a fact he does know a lot of LoL related terms in Korean. What an insane thing would be for him to get promoted to T1 main team.
WILD AF
Honestly we'll have to see. If rekkles has the drive, im sure he'll be putting 110% into this especially on support when his main is adc
TRUST IN THE PROCESS
guessing theyre giving him a chance since hes one of the biggest names in the west and hes a veteran. for him i just wish he did this 3 years ago, i remember him talking about going to korea a while ago but i would be surprised if his career went somewhere at this point.
The reason is fandom. Their challenger team support is more likely to promote to main team than rekkles
And you are bitthurt. 🤣 🤣 🤣
cringe eu hater
@@equinox85He is not wrong, Rekkles has a huge brand, biggest in the West by far and he is insanely popular in LPL/LCK. Any 16-year-old Korean support could curbstomp him, it's mainly a PR move. Rekkles used to be a goat and that was on ADC and back in the day, so many years ago.
@@MartinWasTaken T1 LITERALLY HAS FAKER THE BIGGEST LOL PLAYER FOR PR WHY WOULD THEY NEED REKKLES??? YOU ARE JUST BUTT HURT AND JEALOUS ADMIT IT. 😂
@@MartinWasTaken "Any 16-year-old Korean support" bro rekkless is washed but hes not that washed....you are exaggerating his down fall
I mean, the potential gains of a veteran who wants a more vocal and leadership position PLUS the obvious viability of AD supports? It could be a wildly successful h8gh prio botlane style if they play to those strengths
Will be good for him, he can't/wont be cocky
I heard 3people had been tested and rekkles was chosen.
TBH from what i've seen, Rekkles have really good game knowledge n huge amount of experience as ADC, so i believe he can do well on support... The problem is definitely comms. Cz on pro plays, Support is the most vocal on the team in term of game info n teamplay...
N I don't think anyone can replace Keria role rn... If T1 not renew Keria contract that is a big throw, cz he is best support ever...
Maybe this is just Joe Marsh being Joe Marsh (he is a nice guy FR FR), trying to help promoting Rekkles as a Support. Or maybe it will end up like Nemesis on GenG. Turning into T1 Content Creator for English speaking viewer, I would say that is win-win for everybody...
Isnt gryffin on t1 academy too? hes an NA player signed as their jungler so I doubt the communication would be that difficult bw jungle/support given that they speak the same language. supp/jungle synergy should be fine assuming they both start
gryffin is indeed also on T1 Academy!
gryffin is 1 tier below the team rekkles is on
@jasonjohnson4976 apparently he is supposed to get promoted. I read that somewhere on twitter so might just be bullshit.
Edit: They are doing tryouts and nothing is set yet as to where griffin will play if at all.
yeah there are 3 T1 teams
one with Faker thats the LCK one
then the LCK Challengers one thats were Rekkles might go to
and lastly the one Gryffin is at, the T1 Academy one - they play in the Academy league...
confusing names, and also there were some name changes recently from Rookies to Academy and academy to challenger... but yeah they would NOT be in the same team with out other changes@@jasonjohnson4976
Maybe he's not gunning for T1 regular roster, but to get as much experience and Korean Soloq practice as a support. It's much easier to polish your skill there. Although I'm worried about communication, because support does need good communication with the AD and JG.
I think Rekkles around a T1 roster could turn out to be a good fit, he might rise to the occasion. He may also have to learn some Korean really quick, but all he would need is the basic league talk to get through the matches
Well Rekkles has alot of western based fans and it’s not saying that T1 doesn’t have alot of fans internationally but with rekkles, it kinda solidifies the international fan base. Prolly this move will help with LCK CL with more views and additional merc profits with rekkles name/presence in the team. Win-win for both..
I just wanna see rekkles play, and if it's a western in korea, imma be watching every single game see how it goes
T1: Welcome Doublelift
An important thing to remember is Gyfinn is also probably gonna be in challengers
no he is not he is in the academy team and rekkles in challenger team
Its their academy team not their main team. worst case if it doesnt work out at minimum they get great content for a year while still having a good team for the reg season
If you ask me, it's a sign that T1 is not looking to replace their support slot any time soon.
This is a good brand to secure in order to grow LCK Challengers and I think that this is the goal for T1 as a whole.
A solid 0% chance of getting promoted to the first team. It's a marketing move.
would like to see more top tier korean and chinese orgs use their t2 teams to get some western players some opportunities. its cool and could raise value for players when sold back to the west but also would just be cool for development.
They have an NA jungler too so, Joe Marsh secretly fielding a western team in LCK
if he manages to get better as a support he can become a budget keria since he can play adc champs as support.
I dont think he is trying to take Keria’s spot, he wants to learn from the best and then go back and join LEC.
Probably is PR stuff and from rekkles POV hes in the best league of the world, and the best team atm. Only way its up even if he moves later for other team
It would be fun to see him sub from time to time for the fans. HAHAHA
rekkles and gryffinn
Always wanted Rekkles to go LPL or LCK, since many years ago. The point here is not about his chance or not to join T1 main roster, which sounds impossible. But if he does really well in Academy, he could get a chance in another top LCK team potentially. But it all feels pretty difficult ngl. Cool move though, what is there to lose I mean, why not.
because rekkles predicted that this year is support plays AD meta, but to fill the keria spot? not an option
T1 so big brain already plotting for worlds in EU next year getting an inside man
It’s really simple it’s all about marketing.
Great decision by T1 and overall for the LCK academy which needed that kind of marketing.
Great for Rekkles as well even if he get exposed he can try to find another teams in LEC or another region and that could not being said if he had to play now on LEC team caliber because if he would fail this year he will not have any opportunities and probably retire.
Assuming the T1 roster doesn't change, I think this is just for the sake of adding an experienced support to the challenger team to hopefully develop another zeus, oner or some other lane. I think with the new rosters success since last year, T1's mindset has changed, like instead of aiming for proven and tested pros, it's easier and cheaper to find and create another pro player. Mid in particular, with the absence of Faker to find a sub that's at least has 1/4th of faker's capability
If someone has 1/4th of Faker's ability, better to just sell. He's like, Jensen level. So top 3 mid in NA
They got Poby
I heard he's going to have coach training too. I don't think his goal is lck team.
probably just wanna get experience in a standard or well structured organization ngl a power move.
Whether it's his goal or not, he can't afford to win the LCK
I don’t think he could ever be promoted to the main roster unless for a few games if Keria is sick.
He could prove himself and maybe another middle of the pack LCK team could pick him up.
At his peak he could definitely be a top 3 adc in LCK so if he plays at his peak again he could be a top support. Watching him on KT or something would be cool.
Lol at his peak he could be a top 3 LCK ADC? Do you even realise ADC is arguably the most stacked position from top to Bottom?
Unless if you mean at the time when LCK was rock bottom in 2018 in which case it wouldn't last long anyway since post revival, that position is super stacked
@@dranzerkai6051 not currently
But in 2015 or 2018 and even 2019-2020
Rekkles was better than JKL in 2020 btw
@@aaawa2074you're beyond delusional
this all started with rekkles not hitting the nexus
I firmly believe that LS has a massive crush on Reckless and him being tight with Joe Marash convinced T1 to let Reckless join their Challengers roster.
This is the only thing that makes sense in my head canon.
Talking to T1 means he's probably been in Korea for at least a few weeks now, from now until the next split he can definitely get up to a conversational level of Korean if he goes full time on learning league specific vocab
he has, he's been spotted around the t1 hq for a while now and there's pics of him in korea, he's aslo passed through tryouts so whatever his korean might be like, it's clearly enough for t1 to take him on
He dod learn korean a few years ago as he is a friend of deft and his dream was always to play in korea.
T1 has that LS endorsed american jungler Gryffinn, also T1 Challengers don't have a jungler and support as of right now. I guess T1 probably decided it's good to have a veteran that can speak english language and just try these two together.
T1 Doublelift 2025!
I think for Rekkles its a good move. Learn a new role from t1 CL team playing in CL league. Then hes probably gonna go back to Europe taking with him the knowledge he gained.
Ayrton borja why are you playing a brown game you must be a brown nousagi
T1 academy is nice, maybe get's picked up by a lower LCK team is the craziest option, most likely LEC, LCS, LJL etc; but there is no way he takes over the support spot for main T1 rooster.
i mean T1 dont really need Rekkles at Sp for main T1 team, but maybe they can help him go to another team in mainstream ?
He is filling the influencer role for t1
Imagine its 2027 and Rekkless subs in for Keria and carries Faker for his 6th worlds title.
Great move by T1. Best case scenario? They have a world class player on their roster, they get EU viewership they didn't have before, and they get to take some credit for revitalizing his career. Worst case? "Well he just couldn't hack it, oh well, onto the next guy." This is a big swing for Rekkles though, so I hope it works out for him
I think Rekkles didnt have that much expectation to be in the main roster. No one wanted him in LEC. So i guess the contract from T1 for whatever the profit was for him is still better than no company. I mean this is T1. If he truly wants to grow, even being in that environment is the profit itself.
Pretty sure Rekkles already thought of the language barrier before making this decision. He can start by learning the most basic form of communication in Korean so he can play with other Korean players on the team/academy.
I think that could really be case by case. Learning a language really depends on the person's willingness and work ethic. Also, personality plays a big role as well. People who are talkative, willing to make mistakes, and outgoing learns the quickest. And to be honest, Korean is quite a difficult language to learn as an English speaker for various reasons.
@@abouttime2569 the willingness might be there already since he decided to leave his region for the sake of growth, even if he knows there will be a lot of hurdles he'll be facing, especially the language. Yes, I agree that Korean language is difficult as I tried it myself and quit after a month. Who knows, he might come up with a plan. Let's wish him luck!
@@erwincandelaria5438out of all the asian languages.. Pretty sure Korean has to be the easiest to learn from since its not really symbols like chinese/japanese but a similar alphabetic to English.
I took a whole course lesson to learn Japanese while my younger brother learned Korean and he learned it much faster.... He says it was easier to relate to.
@@iSa_Ach I looked up rankings for it and it tells me 1. Mandarin 2.Japanese 3. Korean. Those are the hardest among all Asian languages to learn. Korean is hard not because of the alphabets. It is hard because of the grammar structure, formal/informal distinctions, and many irregularities (as in English). The real basics like the alphabet for Korean is not that hard. It becomes hard after that.
He has connections with someone in T1 for sure, introvert haters be jelly.
Lets be honest, LCK tier 2 is on par if not better than EU and NA tier 1. Rekkles swapping roles and joining LCK tier 2 is a great opportunity and a challenge for him. Him having success for the next season would make great changes I think not just within the LCK but for the west as well, I wish him the best if this goes.
seamos honestos de la academia salieron los campeones del mundo
Kiera might be taking a break, i don't know. But either way, Rekkles will probably play in some games next season.
I was soo scared he was joinning the main Roster 😂
Thorin is going to have a really good time with this one I can already see him talking about how Rekkles will get kicked out the moment he causes any sort of drama in the team because Asian teams don't put up with that at all.
Hell they won't even entertain the idea of letting you join if they got the slightest hint of you having a bad character or history in or out of the game
Funnily enough, I don't see Rekkles's nature being an issue in T1. It was an issue in g2 as the guy was just not someone who went bonding with his teammates. Fnatic had a more professional environment, while G2 was a much more of 'we are a family' environment. And to this day if I recall correctly, three people have called Rekkles's personality into question, that being Jesiz I think, Striker (now BDS head coach) and Carlos (yeah that guy). Jesiz I don't know much about as I wasn't really that into league back then, Striker's accusation were never backed by anyone and were even shot down by Kameto (KC's owner) himself, so he's out. That leaves us with Carlos and take of his opinion what you will.
Jankos on the other hand, has always said he had no issue with Rekkles as a person, his issues stemmed from how he played the game. And Grabbz called him passive aggressive but not a time bomb on his own. So this whole narrative of IWD and Thorin, about Rekkles being a diva, is based on just Carlos's words.
Ah yes Thorin, the old man with the weird hate boner for all things Rekkles lol
How has no one mentioned they have Gryffinn signed as well? It's two western players on T1 academy.
wait thats crazy.
I am korean fan and really shocked too.
Can’t wait for fnc to sign him again
I remember an EU JG player on BBQolivers when LS was coaching, was there any other import from the west, to go play in KR?
imagine, T1 just didnt wanna deal with rekkles. so they took him into the academy team so they dont have to play against him xD
what ... like actually what... I know Rekkles is cracked & all but he's actually getting that spot?! I never would've guessed.
Not surprising a top EU player has LCK academy skill level
Do you know who had lck academy skill level? Keria and guma bro. Lets not compare stuff like that.
T1 fosters home grown talents, and is evident on the current roster who has been together for such a long time even before becoming maim roster. This is a reset for Rekkles and honestly nothing is negative for both sides.
@@davidcosta1586 I agree. T1 Academy USED to be based... Zeus Oner Guma all from T1 Academy....
nothing wrong with a human being realizing their current low level and their lack of skill, where they can head to an organization that can foster and help their development. not surprising your brain can't comprehend that.
Dude Reckless hasen't been top EU for years

Gonna sound like a fanboy, but let's be real, Rekkles is totally the kind of guy who will learn Korean over the winter in a 4 month speedrun and be passable enough at it to do his job
Uh no he won’t 😂
there is no way
It's weird that a western worlds finalist is just an academy player in korea. 😆
Rekkles Sup is Regression !
Secondly, if he dreams of being world champion like Suport no time principal... I think it's difficult Since Keria is light years ahead!
T1 academy has a North American jungle as well
He would never be good enough to be on T1 let alone any other LCK team, whether he is playing support or adc. Rekkles was signed to bring more eyes to the academy scene, and he gets the benefit of training in Korea. If he performs well enough in LCK it will help him get the credit he needs to be on a good LEC team.
Keria is the support GOD there are no better supports and you can't change my mind on that. Rekkles has his work cut out for him.
Rekkles would never be promoted because faker can't pilot him as well because of the language barrier.
Faker speaks good english
he apparently outperformed others in tryouts for the spot
T1 academy already has griffin right? So supp jg already can converse properly
Maybe LS will join to help with translation
