Thank you for this tutorial. I knew from watching other videos my new mini 4k would need to be tuned for smooth video. I found your tutorial with a quick search, and really appreciate your help. First flight will be in an hour or so and will post the video later this afternoon on my channel. Will give you a shout out for the help! Thumb up.
Old fart here as well. (Just learned on my son's Mini 3 Pro a couple weeks ago.) Bought the Mini 4k for myself and you just answered all my questions with this video. Thank you very much !
Good video Marcus. Watched Billy's a week or so ago but made similar changes to my gimbal settings like you did. Had already changed the Expo settings based on what I liked from my RC helicopter days. Side note. you're lucky you get to fly in school yards and soccer fields, all of the ones near me are fenced and gated.
This is the great thing about cruise control on other dji products, the fact you can update after each orbit and yaw adjust input leads to very smooth fingers free filming. Si
No matter how much I tune my gain and expo settings, I never seem to get it perfect, LOL. Good tutorial, your settings give people a good base on where to start tuning to their personal tastes. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the video. Around 19:45 you noted that you were in SPORT mode. If so, then your settings that you were testing weren't as you thought. You made the changes to your NORMAL profile not the SPORT profile. Interested if you remember whether you were actually flying in SPORT or NORMAL. And it would have been good if you recorded how it handled with factory settings active to give a comparison of how the drone handles in both cases. In general, what Gain/Expo settings do you now use? And how do these generally change when flying other DJI drones like the M4P and Air 3? Just to make things easy I generally don't change from factory settings and just adjust how hard I'm pushing the sticks to get the look I'm after. Do you really find much of a difference in your footage when making these adjustments? Do you see greater differences when flying lighter or heavier aircraft? Appreciate any info. Thanks.
Thanks for taking us flying with you, Marcus. Do you fly with your thumbs on the sticks? If you do, that is the problem you were having with the cross coupling during the orbit of the telephone tower. Your thumbs do NOT move in a straight line! They move through an arc. When you moved the RH stick to the side, you were also moving it slightly back. This increased the distance to the tower! Try being a pinch flyer. Hold the sticks with your thumb and index fingers. It might feel awkward at first, but it will fix the problem for you. I've used this technique for decades flying conventional RC aircraft.
Maybe you know already, but if you press the function button and keep pushing while you move the wheel that normally tilts the gimbal you can zoom in and out so you won't have to use the screen app.Pretty cool finding.
Hi Marcus, nice video on tuning, thanks for sharing. Did you also set up the tuning for Sport mode? I noticed horizon tilt in your video. Are you sure you were flying a DJI drone and not a Fimi? vbg
Markus, do you have any issues with your iPhone volume and power buttons rubbing on the phone mount of the controller? Also - how hot does your phone get when flying??
I try and position the phone so the buttons do not get inadvertently pressed. Overheating can be an issue with the iPhone. Here is my solution: ua-cam.com/users/shortsGVmJqaOVu7c?feature=share
When you alter setting like you suggested, does it save those settings permanently? Or does it revert to factory each time you restart the app??? Thanks for the video :)
Thanks for this Video..I want to use a 9 inch tablet for a screen to fly with...with my DJI mini pro 4...What app do i need to use on the tablet to pair them with?...Thanks
I tried these exact settings for my Mini 2 SE. Worked beautifully. Thanks for the tips.
I'm more than happy to help. Thank you!

Did my first flights with my 4k earlier today, I didn't know about any of this so thank you for the video and information :)
Glad I could help! Thank you!
Another great video, Marcus. I just changed my settings to yours and Billy’s. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome! Thank you Captain Ray!
I love the Old Farts with Drones t-shirt Marcus. Thanks for the info on the DJI 4K. I bought mine 2 weeks ago and enjoy it so far.
Thank you! Congratulations on the new Mini 4K. It's a great drone.
Thank you for this Always appreciate your videos and look forward to new ones😊
You are so welcome! Thank you!
Marcus you are an awsome reviewer, i love all your reviews.
You’re a gentleman Henry. Thank you!
Hey, this is some really cool info! It's great to finally know what some of these setting titles mean.
Did the horizon look a bit off when you first yawed?
Thank you Chris! It’s a handy tool.

Yes DJI gives us some great pilot aids. 🙂

Everything I know I learned from Billy, Ron! 😂
@@IdahoQuadcopter I learn some things from almost everyone I follow.

The two settings that are really worth changing are yaw speed and gimbal speed and overrun. 👍
Thanks for the video, Marcus. Really informative 👍
I'm glad it was helpful!

Yes, that zoom tip is a good one. Thank you!
Great video, i must try it :)
Thank you for watching!
Well done Marcus.
Thank you Bob!

No I just did normal mode. Billy has recommended settings for sport mode too.
Thank you!
You're welcome!
the only video that i need.. thank you sir 🫡
Thank you, I'm glad you found the video helpful.
Hello, New to "droning"? wanted to find out how are you recording the audio. Thanks
I use the DJI mic system, and sync it up in post. Here's a tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/GgfcGBU0yIE/v-deo.html

Yes, it does save your settings!
Good explanation

Thanks for this Video..I want to use a 9 inch tablet for a screen to fly with...with my DJI mini pro 4...What app do i need to use on the tablet to pair them with?...Thanks
The DJI Fly App. 👍
@@IdahoQuadcopter Thanks But i thought it was a different app...I may be wrong.
@@Ralph073 No, it's the same app. 👍
I use dji fly on my 10 inch tablet. It's excellent.
What is the minimum altitude or high you would recommend to fly this drone so is safer not to hit anything?
That's a real subjective question, it depends on where you're flying. 👍
How are you enjoying Hawaii.i hope you brought a drone.would love to see footage from Hawaii😁👍🤠🇺🇸😎
What brand is your white gel pack? Is it frozen before you go out? Thank you.
No I don't freeze the gel pack. There are several brands on Amazon.
Thanks again!
Once you change the settings , does it save for the next flight another day or do you need to change them each and every time ?
I would check after a firmware update, but other than that your settings should stay. 👍
@@IdahoQuadcopter thank you, and by the way , we are new flyers and very much appreciate your detailed videos !!
