For those new to country, don't like country or never heard country. The number 2 and number 3 top Billboard Hot 100 songs are by country singers Morgan Wallen and Luke Combs respectively.
Luke's version of Tracy Chapman's song is amazing - he just nailed it with total respect to the original.

Ahh mann!!! I like the vibes of this song. I'm not a country music fanatic but as a matter of fact, I'm not a fanatic of any music per se'. My mood is what guide me to what type of music I listen to at that moment, in that moment and thats probably due to the array of music I listened to growing up. In my early days, I listened to Elvis, Dazz Band, Michael Jackson, Dokken, Lynard Skinard, SOS Band, Prince, etc... and going thru high school, listening to Country music during my like 11th & 2th grades as I worked at a auto repair shop in Atlantic Beach, FL (Mayport Auto Care) just outside the gates of Mayport Naval Station. Getting back to the point, I'm a fan of many generes and listen to them depending on my mood... Especially during long drives. Thank you for your reaction to this song.

Great song for sure. I'm not into to country too much either but this guy is a rocker. Saw him at a country festival last year, along with Morgan Wallen and others. They're both actually great. Country isn't what it was 20 years ago. There's some really good guitar now in a lot of it.

🤣😂 the genre is progressive country, aka more southern fried rock than anything. Im fairly eclectic. There are 2 genres that i dont have much interest in . Those being rap and opera. Though there are exceptions to both. The song and video denounce the senseless violence of crime and the riots, and lift up the grassroots strength of fommunity most often found in rural and small town america, but not limited to them. Not one bit of racism involved as the mainstream would have you believe.
Jason has scooted over a bit here, and I Like it. Lynyrd Skynyrd, vibe and pure southern music.

Alot of Jason Aldeans music sounds this way. I'm a rock guy but love Aldeans music.

Know very little about this girl sitting beside you and honestly after watching a ton of your videos we still know nothing about her. Together you guys are hilarious. You clearly know a lot about music and the musician side of it BUT in all honesty the reason we all watch "A Musician and a Jerk" because of the Jerk sitting beside you. She is VERY mysterious and has little desire to share anything about herself. Totally sexy and has a bigger than life personality. We all saw the softer side of her come out during the "Remember" Ritchie Kotzen reaction video so now we know she is just like everyone else out there but she leaves me wanting a little bit more every video so keep making them and I am sure we will ALL keep watching!!!

There has been electric guitars in country music for a long time. Some do sound more like southern rock though.

Aldean is a 'country singer,' but this is not a country song, musically speaking, but today's country music is a mix of country, pop, rock, and rap. This is much closer to rock. If you want REAL country music check out George Strait, Alan Jackson, Randy Travis! Great message in the song, though.
