I was at this concert July 4,2004. Soaked to the bone literally and absolutely loved every second of it. When western new yorkers love something we LOVE it.
I'm so jealous! This is my favorite song and I cry just watching this music video. Something about rain and the right band can create magic. Whether it's this video or prince playing purple rain in the rain.
This performance was in their home town (and my home town) of Buffalo NY. They refused to let the rain stop them. I was at this show with my parents after a day at Six Flags Darien lake. I was 8 years old
It was the 4TH of July and they refused to let the home town fans down!!!!!! I was like fourth or fifth row who could tell in the mob scene, it was very emotional i was moved to tears!!!!! Never gotten that wet before but it was worth it!!!!!
Man I love y'all's reactions to the music I grew up on. I'm from a small Texas town of less than 400 people and we knew nothing but music cause that's all we had. I do gotta say I love your music and she is so beautiful
I went to a Bon Jovi concert in Sydney Australia once when it started raining on the massive audience. The band members who could came out into the rain so the audience weren't the only ones suffering from the downpour. The crowd went nuts.
Hey guys, Really love seeing your huge smiles & joyful looking faces when reacting to some of the beautiful music that these artists create. Keep it up legends! 🤙
I already loved this song and this performance, but the two of you put the icing on the cake. Thank you so much for reacting to this masterpiece! 💟☮️ BTW, they had already built a huge fan base before this concert ever took place. IMO, this is one of the greatest concert videos on UA-cam.
Great reaction! Thanks for posting. The Goos are my favorite band! I've seen them 18 times and am on track for three more shows this summer. Thanks again!
Playing the guitar with wet hands hurts like hell. You have to love your craft to play with wet hands. Just like when you lose a callous on your string finger that you spend so long building and is what makes most guitar players sound solid Without it you can't push down on the strings because it just burts so bad. Stevie showed me a trick in 1981 to super guy the callous back on top get through the gig😮
Similar to Tom Petty playing in Gainesville Florida where he grew up and started his career. I saw him in 1982(?) just after he made it. Same hometown vibe!
The reason I watch reaction videos, is that they add to my perspective to these songs/videos that without (the reaction videos), are just assumptions. Along the way, I get to watch a different generation "discover' music that would slowly fade from view were it not for these"explorations". With this reaction, you have verbalized so many of my feelings for an obvious classic performance! The empathy of the band for the crowd. The obvious connection travelling to and from each other. The deep meaning of this song being fully expressed. You guys absolutely nailed this! Top level tip of my cap to both of you!!!! Here is a similar live performance you may not have covered. Billy Joe Armstrong and his band were doing a tour of British "festivals" a few years back (if you haven't checked out any of these concerts, they can be absolutely EPIC!). Look up their UA-cam performance of "I walk alone". Not quite to this level, but close....
MR Kelly6556 down below was right I'm a Paramedic in Buffalo N.Y and worked this show.the reason Johnny asked them to turn on his guitar was because he was low-level being shocked electrically but he would not stop....
I was there, with about 60k of my closest friends, at Niagara square, steps of city Hall. I don't think it ever rained so hard or so much. The storm drains couldn't handle the water, I stood in at least 8" of water. The show was epic, the goo goo dolls were at their height of popularity, city pride was high, and the rain made it such a unique experience.
Hi guys, just started watching ur channel and really enjoying it from Australia. I've got a suggestion from a band here called Goanna that was around years ago, one of their songs called Solid Rock is about the invasion of Australia and the woeful treatment of the Aboriginal people. PS this song brings back memories and definitely depends on what state of mind ur in as too how you remember it.🙃

That looked like a religious experience at the end

Thats crazy. What an experience! Happy for you. Moments like those make life
I could see how special the connection was between the band and their fans & it was incredible to see
This performance was in their home town (and my home town) of Buffalo NY. They refused to let the rain stop them. I was at this show with my parents after a day at Six Flags Darien lake. I was 8 years old
Iconic performance.
Goo goo dolls are actually from Buffalo. They did that for us, their home town! And we love them for it! ❤
This is dedication to the craft and to their fans, it's a standout performance, no pansy arsed musicians here
My favourite live video of all time, nothing beats this! The rain puts the performance on another level.
This was such an important song and still is
It was the 4TH of July and they refused to let the home town fans down!!!!!! I was like fourth or fifth row who could tell in the mob scene, it was very emotional i was moved to tears!!!!! Never gotten that wet before but it was worth it!!!!!
This song brings back such good memories!!! Thank you for reacting to this song!

They warned them about possible damage to equipment and instruments and still did the show.
Hey guys,
Really love seeing your huge smiles & joyful looking faces when reacting to some of the beautiful music that these artists create.
Keep it up legends! 🤙
Not a cell phone in sight. Just memories
They were there...but they were just phones back then.
I already loved this song and this performance, but the two of you put the icing on the cake. Thank you so much for reacting to this masterpiece! 💟☮️

She is so pretty

Made me tear up 😢

GREAT TUNE! Never was a big fan of the band but this is an iconic tune from back in the day.
Knew Johnny from the Elmwood strip. He would wake up his roomie Louie in the middle of the night to play a new cord he learned.
Hometown in the rain, Buffalove
