Some other info i would like to bring up: In The Murder Of Sonic The Hedgehog, Shadow spent most of the game trying to surprise Amy with his birthday gift, which was really interesting because we never see him do this to any other character in the series, at least in any game. Also, in the Sonic Twitter takeovers, Amy and Shadow have a really good dynamic with each other, especially because they state that they're both Swifties, and a lot of times, Sonic acts almost as if he's jealous of they're relationship(i don't know if they're cannon or not, because multiple people say they are, while some they aren't). Also, i know they aren't cannon, but there is one interaction in the Archie Comics that i would like to bring up. So, in the Team Treasure Tango story from the Sonic Universe Comic, G.U.N sends Team Dark to retrieve one of the Sol Emeralds from Blaze and Amy, and Amy actually convinces Shadow of giving up, even though it contradicted their orders(i just thought I'd bring this up, specially because this issues were written by Ian Flyin). I think that even if it isn't a cannon ship, sega could at least give some more interactions between these two characters, even if not romantic.

I was eight years old (I'm eighteen now) when I first started shipping ShadAmy and they became my OTP. I never liked SonAmy growing up because I always thought that they didn't have any real connection or chemistry. (And also the fact that Sonic pushes Amy away whenever she's trying to smother him with her love and affection in which he has every right to not want that). To be honest...I think that Sonic and Amy are better suited as just friends. But I'm not saying that ShadAmy should be made canon either. (Although I wish it were). ShadAmy has always felt to me like it was a more natural pairing with a strong dynamic. A lot of good can come from this ship. And that's why I love these two and they will always be my OTP 💗
When I first got into Sonic, I was a SonAmy Shipper. Because as I said in the video I normally like whatever "canon" relationship is established. But ShadAmy was my first non canon ship that I've stuck to for years at this point. I think that if Sega does something with SonAmy and makes Sonic have a change of heart or something I wouldn't be upset. But I do like ShadAmy better regardless.
@@MediaMisfit-06 Same, used to ship SonAmy, but then saw how Shadow and Amy could interact, and now ShadAmy is my fav ship. Another reason is because Sonic isn't interested in relationships like that, so SonAmy doesn't make sense.
I don't know if this point is relevant but there are sites (I just don't remember which ones) that say that Ian Flynn had plans to put Shadow and Amy as Silver's parents in Archie, with Shadow supposedly being ageless and Amy being psychic like him. Silver. But it didn't go ahead because Ian didn't want to feel like an idiot about information that was confirmed as non-canonical by the games' director (the information being that Silver is a descendant of some character in the cast). Which, if I may be honest, is a huge missed opportunity in my view.
@brunafcf9910 That's interesting because there was a fan theory that Shadow could be Silver's father. It was based on Sonic and the Black Knight, if I'm not mistaken. But i don't remember the details, except that eventually, it was debunked by Sega.
I used to think that Shadamy was a weird ship because Shadow's just the type of guy I thought who would just stay single. But after watching your video I see now why people ship them. Now I'm wondering if I support this ship too, lol.
I completely agree with you! I’ve always preferred their dynamic over SonAmy for a variety of reasons. There’s just something so compelling about the contrast between Shadow’s quiet, morally grey complex, and brooding nature and Amy’s bold, bubbly, and energetic personality. That kind of pairing, where a reserved "edgelord" character is balanced by an outgoing and optimistic counterpart, has become a beloved trope in books and shows, and for good reason! It creates a natural push-and-pull that keeps their interactions interesting and layered. I really hope we get even a small nod to ShadAmy in Sonic 4, or at the very least, a moment that showcases their mutual respect and admiration for each other. Their potential as a duo, whether as allies or something more, is something I’d love to see explored further! Plus i think it'll be hilarious if they have Shadow and Amy go to a concert during the end credits of Sonic 4 😂 Thanks so much for this video! It’s always great to see discussions like this!

I wasn’t a fan of Shadamy at first, but the fan works I saw really sold me on the ship. It has so much potential. Now it’s probably my favorite Sonic ship (either it or Sonally).
I really like sonamy as a ship, however as of right now I feel like it's written poorly which is why some people lost interest in it all together. While I'm not a shadamy shipper, I do see why people like it a lot. To me personally, I see them as friends that become closer and have the same interests which I really like, I appreciate their dynamic and I really hope they have more interactions in the future. I guess since I've been in the fandom for a long time I never saw Amy and shadow as romantic, but I don't mind people having fun shipping them and making fanart and exploring their dynamic in that way. However I don't think one is superior to the other. Like both can work if written well. At least that's what I think.
True. And I actually wasn't always a ShadAmy shipper. Like I said in the video I usually ship the people that are "suppose" to be together in movies or shows. And I can totally see the arguments I've made be taken as Shadow and Amy being good friends. Quite honestly I wouldn't mind SonAmy being a thing either. I just think that within the games at least Sonic lacks depth so it makes it hard for any kinds of romance to be possible. But I don't totally hate SonAmy. I just think that as of this moment ShadAmy has more to it.☺️
Everything you said is just what I think of SonAmy. The SonAmy is very cute but I feel that there are people who do not lend themselves to see with attention how special this ship does. It is as one boy said in another video.. if Sonic is the wind, Amy is the breeze that follows him. That is they charm. They can be a powerful couple but for writing reasons and some cultural problems (Japan and America) makes the SonAmy look poor with a naked eye but the ship is also very beautiful if you pay attention to their relationship, especially how you develop Amy as a character.

The writing in the recent games made it seemed like the relationship was one sided from the games but we know that Amy shares the same values as sonic does she never said she wanted to settle down she just wanted to be with sonic because wherever he goes she follows.
@@Karessertin103 THIS. I am glad that someone else understands it. That is fair, even Sonic recognizes playgrounds and Amy jokes but despite that, Amy and Sonic are no different as one thinks. I just sometimes think that is why many do not understand them, but most Amy in this case. However even though for me the SonAmy has a lot of charm, I can also see it with the ShadAmy. However, coming back to my point is that SonAmy has that charm that I am glad that they currently have in mind to improve it, maybe not canonize them but make them see because they make them so special. For a reason Amy was created, to be the Sonic's girlfriend.

As a new sonic fan, I was confused when I first saw the ship. But knowing about the sonic franchise since I was little, I understood why it’s a possibility for shadow and Amy to end up together. (By also either deleting ages or waiting until amy is older since shadow technically doesn’t age) and although I still like sonamy, I think this is a way more gentle and likely one to happen. I wasn’t even aware that there was more proof in the games. So it’s nice to know that it could be more close to canon. Ofc i have no idea if sega will ever do that. but in the end, it makes sense. and is an adorable ship💖
I've started shipping Shadamy recently, and I don't usually do hetero ships! I think part of it is I feel like SonAmy, on Sonic's side anyway, he sees Amy more like a sister - in a similar but different way to Tails - I say this because in more recent games like Sonic Frontiers, it feels like he does really care for her, just not romantically - I think there is a serious argument for Sonic being Aromantic honestly. From Shadow's side, I think Amy reminds him a LOT of Maria - they have very similar personalities. Possibly the reason Shadow doesn't shove Amy away when she hugs him is it triggered memories of Maria hugging him? I think in more recent media we have seen Maria randomly hugging him, like in the flashbacks in Dark Beginnings. Of course, this could itself be a problem if Shadow only ever sees Amy as a substitute Maria and isn't able to come to see Amy as her own person.
All good points!👍And yeah I could see a problem occurring if Shadow never really sees Amy for her own person and just substitutes her for Maria. And her causing memories to trigger for Shadow is a really good explanation for why Shadow didn't push her away. It really could just be lazy animation on the animators part but I think it's more fun to speculate that there was a reason within the story.😊
@MediaMisfit-06 Thank you! I feel like the reason for the scene at the time was less lazy animation and more going for the idea of Shadow being like "What is happening right now?" Another take is that he doesn't consider Amy a threat and so doesn't react. But with the benefit of hindsight, I prefer the flashback idea. Oh and just a note - the bit of the recap (they need to bring those back for games) that says 'Thanks to Amy' that doesn't necessarily mean the same as him thanking Amy. It's just another way of saying something like 'because of Amy' for example.
Ok, you instantly lost me when you said Sonic views Amy as a sister. He does not, and it's weird to think that when Amy loves him romantically and Sega heavily promotes SonAmy as a romance. Also, there is hints that Sonic feels the same away about Amy, even in Frontiers. There is one dialogue where Sonic says that he wishes he was sharing an umbrella with Amy which is usually a very romantic gesture (whether it was cut or not).
@ True. Sonic Frontiers is helping Sonic and Amy's case. But before this Sonic seems really uninterested in Amy. Constantly shoving her away, and just saying no. Maybe seeing her as a sister is too strong of a phrase, but I think that for most other games sonic doesn't really like Amy as more then a friend. Maybe games in the future will change that though.
The love trial in 06, the "umbrella" speech in Frontiers and any other clear evidence that debunks the "Sonic doesn't love Amy romantically would like to have a word with you on that, especially with the SonAmy OFFICIAL merchandise I just mentioned. Also, Sonic straight debunks the sister "claim" in TailsTube, which makes it more ridiculous.
Me personally; I agree. Shadamy has the potential to be great and their dynamic is a classic trope within shoujo/romance media. As you said, Sega probably didn’t like that Shadamy was stealing the limelight of Sonamy, so they squashed it immediately. And even so, the Shadamy community continues to grow and flourish. The fan art is always fantastic, and so is the fanfiction. It’s merely a dream to think of Shadamy ever becoming canon; but man, it would be nice if it were Shadow having feelings for Amy to solidify Shadamy more. Oh well, I’m enjoying what I have. Kudos, great video! And congrats being the first to make this kind of video for shadamy. (Idk if there have been others who done this 😅)

Of course this would pop up in my recommendations when I'm lowkey hyperfixating on this ship 😂 Honestly, I'm a fan of both ships, it really just depends on the continuity. For example, I really enjoyed SonAmy in Sonic Boom, they had great romantic chemistry that bounced easily off of years of friendship and mutual respect. But in the games, I definitely prefer ShadAmy. Personally, I don't like how callous and dismissive Sonic sometimes acts towards Amy in a lot of the game canon, and I definitely don't like it when Amy's crush on Sonic is warped to frame her as some kind of obsessive weirdo. Sonic and Amy are pretty young in the games, so it makes sense that Sonic wouldn't be interested in romance and that Amy's feelings would be more on the immature side, but I just think the writers take it a little too far sometimes. I can easily picture ShadAmy happening years down the line when Amy is older and has grown out of her crush on Sonic. They'd be really great influences on each other. I haven't read the comics, so can't speak for those, but I do think ShadAmy is brimming with potential in every iteration, and I'd love more canon interactions between them, whether romantic or platonic.
So true. I love SonAmy in Sonic Boom. It's sort of like a look into the future possibly if Sega were to move past the stagnant personally they've given sonic. But yeah I can also picture later in years Amy falling for Shadow after Sonic rejects her one too many times.

This doesn't make any sense to me, Shadow approves and encourages Sonic to take action with Amy in the Twitter Takeover and that is canon. Sonic has already shown that he likes Amy and the IDW producers want to explore both of them. If Shadow supports Sonamy and Sonic loves Amy and Amy loves Sonic, what's the point of Amy being with Shadow??? Japanese Sega makes products about Sonamy. Shadow only sees Amy as a close friend like Rouge. Sega has already canonically said that he doesn't love anyone. I don't want to hate your ship but Shadamy It doesn't make sense. In Sonic Adventure 2 itself, when Sonic supposedly dies, Amy cries and when Shadow supposedly dies, Amy just wants to go to Earth with Sonic. I honestly don't see the reason to separate Amy from Sonic just to include Shadow, Sega itself, which Sonamy is difficult to understand? Naoto Oshima said it would be Sonamy, that's what I mean. That wasn't hate, that's my opinion

Bro, not tryna to be rude, but I can tell you're probably not much into fan ships in general - which is totally fine of course! - because literally none of those reasons matter in the minds of fans like myself who are really into shipping. I know for an absolute fact that ShadAmy will never be canon, most of us do, and we're okay with that. That just means we have all the creative freedom to write it ourselves! We don't always ship things because they "make sense," crack ships exist for a reason. Heck, I have a few ships I enjoy that I would NEVER want to become canon. The point of shipping isn't to "make sense," it's to have fun! And I find ShadAmy to be a very fun ship, that's really all there is to it. It's fun to put your own spin on your favorite characters, to put them in "what if" scenarios and go crazy. No, it may not make sense in canon, and it may be far from what the creators intended, but fans are always going to interpret things in their own way, and that's totally fine. You don't have to agree with it or like it, that's also fine. We can just respectfully disagree and go our own ways to enjoy the franchise however we like.
shadamy has been one of my most favorite ships! i always thought amy would be better off with shadow. sonic is always running off away from amy when she expresses her feelings to him. people say sonic is just too shy to express the same feelings back but i don't know. shadow like you said in the video tolerates amy, and since he is usually quite chill and not very negative towards her i think he would be great with amy. amy gets rejected by sonic too much honestly and he doesn't seem to plan to want to slow down and think about relationships. i still kinda somewhat ship sonamy but i would ship shadamy a whole lot more.
Good video, i always leaned towards ShadAmy after their in game interactions, But another game scene, idk how canon it may be, but it had a hinting in it, was Sonic and the black knight, where Lancelot and the lady of the lake get married in the story and i found it interesting that the characters were shadow and amy. Just another note, But other than that, I think they fit well and these two could grow a lot with each other as they are.

As a Shadouge shipper, I’m here to gain a better understanding of Shadamy. I always felt that Rouge to Shadow has been like Amy is to Sonic. Rouge always being worried about Shadow just like how Amy is constantly worried about Sonic. The girls are like their caretakers and nag them when they get too reckless. I do see the appeal for Shadamy, but I agree that there’s not enough interactions to elaborate further. Plus it does feel like they’re pushing the Sonamy much more when they stated that romance wasn’t a focus awhile ago. SEGA is changing and there’s definitely hope to really delve into the interactions with all the supporting characters with not just Sonic, which imo Sonic needs to ride backseat for awhile and let other characters take the wheel.
Definitely agree. I've though about Shadow and Rouge as well, but to me I feel like she can be kind of shallow. Though to be fair I'm not a Rouge expert so if I'm wrong feel free to correct me on it. I do hope that Sega explores other characters more. I know that Sonic is the main character but yeah I wanna see other characters shine. We got a Shadow the Hedgehog game but...to my knowledge that was it. I'd like to see more.
Yes you’re definitely right that Rouge can be shallow at first glance but she’s also a very layered and complex character with more mystery than Shadow. It’s usually with Shadow we get to see her more vulnerable and wholesome side. I always thought they compliment each other very well here as a dynamic and therefore shipped them romantically, though so many ppl “sibling code” them to dismiss the potential of their relationship. I’m aware a lot of ppl also do that with the Shadamy ship too and also argue that Amy reminds him of Maria like a sister trying to “sibling code” them but it totally dismisses Amy’s authenticity as a character. Shadamy does have a lot of potential and their personalities can possibly balance each other out too, but even in the IDW series it’s so different for them to interact. Maybe one day Amy will broaden her perspective and take off her rose-tinted glasses on Sonic and see more potential-and possible more fitting-suitors. I’m also curious about the Silveramy ship as well but haven’t come across a video examining that one yet. You did great with your analysis though! I'm gonna be honest: Initially, I only shipped Shadow and Amy to give Amy some closure since I already shipped Sonic with Sally in my headcanon. But after thinking about it and seeing various Shadamy fan comics out there, it started making more sense to me than Sonamy. Especially as Amy has matured over the years in the games and otherwise, she's increasingly depicted as someone who wants to make her own mark rather than just being "Sonic's girlfriend." I don't remember the original creator's name, but there was a fan comic (Shadamy, obviously) that helped put it into perspective for me. In the comic, Amy meets her past and future selves, and at one point, one of the future Amys explains that she and Sonic wanted different things and that she simply couldn't keep up. Whereas with Shadow, by her own confession, he always treated her with respect. Granted, I'm paraphrasing, and this was a fan comic, but it got me thinking about Shadow's perspective. Our favorite Edgelord has always had a soft side, one that he keeps closed off to anyone and everyone except for a select few individuals. Maria, Sonic, and Amy are among this small circle, but even then, Shadow sees each person differently. Maria was essentially his mother figure, Sonic his rival and brother, and Amy is his moral compass, the light to his darkness, his *shadow.* In a way, Amy took the role that Maria tragically left behind in Shadow's life, but less as a mother and more... on par, if that makes sense. Well, and then there's the Shadouge shippers, of course. I can already sense them somewhere in the comment section.
Yeah everything you're saying is pretty much what I think. Of course I keep and open mind with both SonAmy and Shadouge, but I know what comic you're talking about I've seen in a few times. There's another one where she's thinking about her past and how she wanted a fairytale romance. but she realized she needed to focus on herself more and in the end she wakes up with shadow next to her and their kid sleeping on top of her. Both are really good explanations to ShadAmy. And yeah, there are Shadouge shippers in the comments. 😂
i'm a fan of shadamy because i never really liked sonamy, for me sonic is someone free (andalsoalittlegay) so i never really had a taste for that ship, but with shadamy i super fell in love with the dynamics and i look for even the smallest thing to feed my delulu, like the scene of both in Sonic dream team, the funko package of shadow and amy, that the color palette of both are almost the same and they are very complementary, that in sonic and the black knight, shadow is lancelot and amy is Nimue, not to mention the interaction in the murder of sonic the hedgehog, etc etc I could continue yapping about this, but it's that I really have an appreciation for the ship, anyway ... I liked this video hehe

I don't care about shipping overall, but I have a certain problem with this ship in specific. Amy and Shadow have technically never interacted. And your first reaction to that is "What do you mean? Of course they did. It was a major plot point in SA2." And yes, but no at the same time. The Shadow after SA2 is not exactly the same Shadow that went through the events of SA2, since, well, he had amnesia. And you could say that he regained all of his memories, but Shadow '05 never makes it clear how many memories did Shadow regain, and in the ending he literally says "Adiós, Shadow The Hedgehog" as a way to say he is not the person that went through all of his past. And of course, he helped Amy find Cream in Shadow '05, but I don't know if that mission in specific actually happens in the True Ending route. And then there is TMOSTH, but I personally don't really count TMOSTH as that game portrays Shadow in a very weird way overall. Since Shadow never actually interacted with Amy, there would be little to no incentive for him to participate the party and much less give Amy a present. And about what Amy says at the end of Shadow '05: A. I don't know if that line exists in the japanese script. B. She could be referring to the fact that Shadow is the second strongest character in the cast, so...
@Kelps.mp4 You're correct. It isn't cannon, and it shouldn't be. However, there's also other media involved, like the Twitter takeovers, where they have a lot of interactions together(but I'm not sure if these are cannon), and there's also the non cannonical Archie Comics, where they have interactionsin the Sonic Universe Comics, and those were written by Ian Flynn. You don't have to like the ship, but they have interactions in some media, like the ones i listed. Also, Shadow 05 is the biggest example of how this ship should be portrayed, as something "possible", an different timeline, mind you, because if you go full dark until you meet Amy and then go hero, in the game's library sequences, the path will be registered as "Miracle of Love" which is something very interesting. So, yeah, it isn't cannon. It shouldn't be cannon, but i think the whole Shadamy community just likes to think, "What if it was? How would it be?" and make their fan media out of it, which can turn to be very good or very bad. And, of course, you don't have to like it, like what you want to like. But i and some other people like it, and we like to dream about it, and that's fine too.
Also, I just remembered, in the japanese version, Amy says something among the lines of "don't worry. After all, he's Immortal" in the Last Story cutscene in Shadow 05. So yeah, this one line actually isn't a Shadamy proof originally.

So, perhaps I didn't get this message across well enough in my video, but the "proof" I'm showing is that ShadAmy isn't completely coming from thin air. Whether Shadow really remembers the whole thing with Amy after his memory loss or not isn't too much of a concern to me. (Also I didn't know about the Japanese version of Shadow 05, so thanks for telling me.) My main point is that for such little screentime, the few interactions these two characters have is significantly more interesting then most of what Sonic and Amy have. Frontiers is the exception to this, which I am happy about honestly because I don't have anything against SonAmy. I think both ships can be great. Like Daniel said it's really just a "what if" because I do find grumpy x sunshine tropes really cute. But either way I'm glad that you took the time to watch my video and comment.😊

I am aware that the shipping community in general is very problematic. Honestly, I find it absurd to want to make it seem that Shadamy has more potential than SonAmy, based on crumbs of interaction that could barely be considered a friendship in Construction. What I see is that they are idealizing Shadow's character, being more of a "husband" than Sonic, and they are inserting themselves into Amy because they don't want to make one of those OCs that are so abundant. Headcanons aren't bad, I'm sure most of us have them and enjoy them, but again, is the hypothetical "what if" of what we've been shown over the years enough of an argument Above the canon? The ship is another cliché of an introverted/serious boy with a sunflower girl, it is a super common trope in Shoujos so it is understandable why it is liked. I also find it hypocritical that they deny any romantic interaction between Shadow and Maria, but use as an argument that Shadamy is pretty because Amy reminds him of Maria xd Oh the fact when Sonally was booming and they used Shadamy as the wild card to make Amy happy. I also find it extremely sad how SEGA AMERICA ruined the dynamic of SonAmy and the character of Amy, causing many people to misinterpret the character and the her story. Just reading the comments about Amy being obsessed or Sonic treating her badly or not reciprocating her romantic feelings gives me an idea of the damage they did. I respect your video and everyone's opinions, shipping is fun, I also have my crack ships in the saga, but if you are going to argue about possibility or potential, from one ship over another, the ideal is to base it on the Lore and canonical interactions, not headcanons or "what ifs". I also don't think it's correct to say that "Shadow deserves Amy", because love isn't a matter of deserving as if people were objects. Again, it's perfectly fine to like the ship, it has some great fan art and fan fiction, but it's far from having the potential to be canon, considering the characters' true feelings. I've had a few people be less explanatory and just...heavily opinionated. But I also wanted to maybe expound on my thoughts a little since I'm not totally in line with everything every other commenter is saying. I think that both Sonic and Shadow could be "husband material" further down the line. It just requires time and maybe a little maturity. Additionally(And I suppose I didn't make this clear enough in my video) I do support SonAmy. I also think that logically ShadAmy will never happen. For me personally, (if we exclude shows, comics, and the twitter takeover stuff) I don't think Amy is necessarily wrong in the way she goes about her love for sonic. Maybe asking him to marry her is a little much but I don't thinks she's crazy obsessed. If that were the case she would never let up and just constantly be on him, which isn't the case. I do think Sonic is a little...rude at times. I get it, he doesn't want to be kissed but does he have to shove her away by the face?😂 Also, I do casually ship Maria and Shadow. I just find it a little strange that it would be between a human and a humanoid hedgehog. I love fan art where both Shadow and Maria are human, or both are hedgehogs. I love it and if either of those options were true, I'd be a Maria and Shadow shipper all the way. I do also think that things are shifting. Especially after Sonic Frontiers where Sonic and Amy have a lot more sweet interactions. So if Sega continues in the direction they're going, then I'll definitely have to retract my statement that ShadAmy has more potential since...well it just won't be true anymore. But until then I stand by my statement since, I just think that if people want to adamantly say that SonAmy is canon (Which I don't say is the case with ShadAmy within my video by the way) They need to have more solid proof then what they're saying. I honestly don't like Shadamy (I like their dynamics in other ships not Sonic's saga), because I've been in this fandom for years, and I've had bad experiences with them, even when at some point I forced myself to like them. From Sonic Generation to Sonic Forces, it was pure American writing with Ken Pontac, that's why it's clear that they don't understand the characters or their dynamics. Not only Amy was affected by this "experimental dark age", then for Frontiers and the SXSG DLC, although it is still American writing, the difference is that IAN Flyn was a writer for Archie and IDW until now, and at least he tries not to make those mistakes or fix the damage they did. Personally I'm more of a Shadouge shipper, they have high respect for each other, and Amy doesn't really have a lot of interaction with shadow, i find weird that people ship the two, with such little chemistry.
I think you're right on the front that Shadow and Rouge have had more screen time together, but to me Rouge seems like the total opposite of the kind of personality Shadow would go for. Amy is very similar to Maria (and I'm not trying to say Shadow had anything other then platonic feelings for Maria). Perhaps Rouge and Shadow could be a thing. And I think it's more likely to actually happen in the future then ShadAmy. But I personally just find Shadow and Amy a cuter match because of their opposing personalities.
@MediaMisfit-06 and that's a okay, I'm not one to judge Sonic ships, I mean I do take pride in my shipping category, but I respect people's ship's, as long as their not gay, when I was young, and played sonic adventures 2, my brothers would always tease me with Sonic and Shadow being gay, and I have autism, and something about made me feel, really weird, like depressed and something else, I just didn't like the feeling, so I made a shipping category, and gave every sonic character a ship, so it's why I have such strong passion for shipping Sonic characters.

Personaly i like this ship but I always think of them like Jean grey and wolverine in x-men. The dark lonely héroe with a dark past that falls for the empathetic girl of the grup that help him overcome his past but isn’t ment to be because despiste the fact that she loves him she already made his choice but for the guy the’re always hope. I LOVE shadamy sm they're my favorite Sonic ship tbh. Because there's sm potential! If only SEGA could let them interact more because they are such a cute duo. In the Olympic Games, Shadow only smiles when he is ice skating with Amy as far as I know. And in Sonic Racing Amy and Shadow interact a lot and Shadow is always soft towards her. He kind of flirts with her in that game a little. And he always takes it easy on Amy. I love this ship and I just hope Sonic 4 will at least have a cute little interaction between the 2, maybe make Shadow get a little flustered. BUT I LOVE THIS SHIP RAHHHHH

So her being nice to Shadow isn't all that strange. Technically he is, but his body and mind were essentially frozen during the time he was in stasis. So he's still the same as as before being put in that chamber, and I don't see this as an issue.
@MediaMisfit-06 First of all, in reality we know Shadow has no feelings for Amy, he only has feelings for Maria. And I know Maria is a human and Shadow is a hedgehog that they can't go to a romantic relationship, which I get that. But Shadow cares more for Maria than Amy and Rouge. But to think ShadAmy is better than SonAmy that is a no-no. I know we'll see some SonAmy parts in Sonic Movie 4, because SonAmy is a popular ship to the Sonic Franchise. If you remember one time, there is a page of a magazine showing about Sonic's feelings about Amy, he does have feelings for her but it's just he is nervous to say it. You're not convincing me to think ShadAmy is a better ship than SonAmy, I would fully disagree on that.
@jozenkai12 I think the point is not that it's better. I know that Sonamy is a ship that's more recognized by sega, and it has way more materials supporting it. But Shadamy, even though that there's little information, it has a lot of potential, given how the feel interactions between them, and if sega settled down and worked on developing it, it could be an interesting story. But i like to think of it as more of an alternate reality, not cannon, since it is just too cruel for Shadow to fall in love since he's immortal and is going to outlive his partner. I personally enjoy Shadamy more than Sonamy, but cannonically speaking, Sonamy has more proof to back it up, and it makes more sense within the established universe.

And with how much interaction Amy and Shadow have had I'm not saying that at this moment in time these two characters have romantic feelings for each other. And the ONLY reason why I think ShadAmy is better than SonAmy is not because I'm biased or think the SonAmy ship is bad. (I originally was a SonAmy shipper) I just think that Sonic lacks any sort of emotional story within the games themselves. Yes you can mention the Twitter Takeovers, yes you can mention a page of a magazine, but I want Sega to put something definitive into the games to actually back SonAmy up for once instead of just saying that's the true ship. In The Murder Of Sonic The Hedgehog, Shadow spent most of the game trying to surprise Amy with his birthday gift, which was really interesting because we never see him do this to any other character in the series, at least in any game. Also, in the Sonic Twitter takeovers, Amy and Shadow have a really good dynamic with each other, especially because they state that they're both Swifties, and a lot of times, Sonic acts almost as if he's jealous of they're relationship(i don't know if they're cannon or not, because multiple people say they are, while some they aren't). Also, i know they aren't cannon, but there is one interaction in the Archie Comics that i would like to bring up. So, in the Team Treasure Tango story from the Sonic Universe Comic, G.U.N sends Team Dark to retrieve one of the Sol Emeralds from Blaze and Amy, and Amy actually convinces Shadow of giving up, even though it contradicted their orders(i just thought I'd bring this up, specially because this issues were written by Ian Flyin). I think that even if it isn't a cannon ship, sega could at least give some more interactions between these two characters, even if not romantic.

I was eight years old (I'm eighteen now) when I first started shipping ShadAmy and they became my OTP. I never liked SonAmy growing up because I always thought that they didn't have any real connection or chemistry. (And also the fact that Sonic pushes Amy away whenever she's trying to smother him with her love and affection in which he has every right to not want that). To be honest...I think that Sonic and Amy are better suited as just friends. But I'm not saying that ShadAmy should be made canon either. (Although I wish it were). ShadAmy has always felt to me like it was a more natural pairing with a strong dynamic. A lot of good can come from this ship. And that's why I love these two and they will always be my OTP 💗
When I first got into Sonic, I was a SonAmy Shipper. Because as I said in the video I normally like whatever "canon" relationship is established. But ShadAmy was my first non canon ship that I've stuck to for years at this point. I think that if Sega does something with SonAmy and makes Sonic have a change of heart or something I wouldn't be upset. But I do like ShadAmy better regardless.

I don't know if this point is relevant but there are sites (I just don't remember which ones) that say that Ian Flynn had plans to put Shadow and Amy as Silver's parents in Archie, with Shadow supposedly being ageless and Amy being psychic like him. Silver. But it didn't go ahead because Ian didn't want to feel like an idiot about information that was confirmed as non-canonical by the games' director (the information being that Silver is a descendant of some character in the cast).
Which, if I may be honest, is a huge missed opportunity in my view.
@brunafcf9910 That's interesting because there was a fan theory that Shadow could be Silver's father. It was based on Sonic and the Black Knight, if I'm not mistaken. But i don't remember the details, except that eventually, it was debunked by Sega.

I completely agree with you! I’ve always preferred their dynamic over SonAmy for a variety of reasons. There’s just something so compelling about the contrast between Shadow’s quiet, morally grey complex, and brooding nature and Amy’s bold, bubbly, and energetic personality. That kind of pairing, where a reserved "edgelord" character is balanced by an outgoing and optimistic counterpart, has become a beloved trope in books and shows, and for good reason! It creates a natural push-and-pull that keeps their interactions interesting and layered.
I really hope we get even a small nod to ShadAmy in Sonic 4, or at the very least, a moment that showcases their mutual respect and admiration for each other. Their potential as a duo, whether as allies or something more, is something I’d love to see explored further! Plus i think it'll be hilarious if they have Shadow and Amy go to a concert during the end credits of Sonic 4 😂

I wasn’t a fan of Shadamy at first, but the fan works I saw really sold me on the ship. It has so much potential. Now it’s probably my favorite Sonic ship (either it or Sonally).
It totally does. And yeah fan are really did help when I first discovered the ship to. Some of what people make is just incredible.
I really like sonamy as a ship, however as of right now I feel like it's written poorly which is why some people lost interest in it all together. While I'm not a shadamy shipper, I do see why people like it a lot. To me personally, I see them as friends that become closer and have the same interests which I really like, I appreciate their dynamic and I really hope they have more interactions in the future. I guess since I've been in the fandom for a long time I never saw Amy and shadow as romantic, but I don't mind people having fun shipping them and making fanart and exploring their dynamic in that way. However I don't think one is superior to the other. Like both can work if written well. At least that's what I think.

Everything you said is just what I think of SonAmy. The SonAmy is very cute but I feel that there are people who do not lend themselves to see with attention how special this ship does. It is as one boy said in another video.. if Sonic is the wind, Amy is the breeze that follows him. That is they charm. They can be a powerful couple but for writing reasons and some cultural problems (Japan and America) makes the SonAmy look poor with a naked eye but the ship is also very beautiful if you pay attention to their relationship, especially how you develop Amy as a character.

The writing in the recent games made it seemed like the relationship was one sided from the games but we know that Amy shares the same values as sonic does she never said she wanted to settle down she just wanted to be with sonic because wherever he goes she follows.
@@Karessertin103 THIS. I am glad that someone else understands it. That is fair, even Sonic recognizes playgrounds and Amy jokes but despite that, Amy and Sonic are no different as one thinks. I just sometimes think that is why many do not understand them, but most Amy in this case. However even though for me the SonAmy has a lot of charm, I can also see it with the ShadAmy. However, coming back to my point is that SonAmy has that charm that I am glad that they currently have in mind to improve it, maybe not canonize them but make them see because they make them so special. For a reason Amy was created, to be the Sonic's girlfriend.

As a new sonic fan, I was confused when I first saw the ship. But knowing about the sonic franchise since I was little, I understood why it’s a possibility for shadow and Amy to end up together. (By also either deleting ages or waiting until amy is older since shadow technically doesn’t age) and although I still like sonamy, I think this is a way more gentle and likely one to happen. I've started shipping Shadamy recently, and I don't usually do hetero ships!
I think part of it is I feel like SonAmy, on Sonic's side anyway, he sees Amy more like a sister - in a similar but different way to Tails - I say this because in more recent games like Sonic Frontiers, it feels like he does really care for her, just not romantically - I think there is a serious argument for Sonic being Aromantic honestly.
From Shadow's side, I think Amy reminds him a LOT of Maria - they have very similar personalities. Possibly the reason Shadow doesn't shove Amy away when she hugs him is it triggered memories of Maria hugging him? I think in more recent media we have seen Maria randomly hugging him, like in the flashbacks in Dark Beginnings.
Of course, this could itself be a problem if Shadow only ever sees Amy as a substitute Maria and isn't able to come to see Amy as her own person.

And her causing memories to trigger for Shadow is a really good explanation for why Shadow didn't push her away. I feel like the reason for the scene at the time was less lazy animation and more going for the idea of Shadow being like "What is happening right now?"
Another take is that he doesn't consider Amy a threat and so doesn't react.
But with the benefit of hindsight, I prefer the flashback idea.
Oh and just a note - the bit of the recap (they need to bring those back for games) that says 'Thanks to Amy' that doesn't necessarily mean the same as him thanking Amy. It's just another way of saying something like 'because of Amy' for example.
Ok, you instantly lost me when you said Sonic views Amy as a sister. He does not, and it's weird to think that when Amy loves him romantically and Sega heavily promotes SonAmy as a romance.
Also, there is hints that Sonic feels the same away about Amy, even in Frontiers. There is one dialogue where Sonic says that he wishes he was sharing an umbrella with Amy which is usually a very romantic gesture (whether it was cut or not).
@ True. Sonic Frontiers is helping Sonic and Amy's case. But before this Sonic seems really uninterested in Amy. Constantly shoving her away, and just saying no. Maybe seeing her as a sister is too strong of a phrase, but I think that for most other games sonic doesn't really like Amy as more then a friend. Maybe games in the future will change that though.

Me personally; I agree. Shadamy has the potential to be great and their dynamic is a classic trope within shoujo/romance media. As you said, Sega probably didn’t like that Shadamy was stealing the limelight of Sonamy, so they squashed it immediately. And even so, the Shadamy community continues to grow and flourish. The fan art is always fantastic, and so is the fanfiction. It’s merely a dream to think of Shadamy ever becoming canon; but man, it would be nice if it were Shadow having feelings for Amy to solidify Shadamy more. Oh well, I’m enjoying what I have. Kudos, great video! And congrats being the first to make this kind of video for shadamy. (Idk if there have been others who done this 😅)

Of course this would pop up in my recommendations when I'm lowkey hyperfixating on this ship 😂 Honestly, I'm a fan of both ships, it really just depends on the continuity. For example, I really enjoyed SonAmy in Sonic Boom, they had great romantic chemistry that bounced easily off of years of friendship and mutual respect. But in the games, I definitely prefer ShadAmy. Personally, I don't like how callous and dismissive Sonic sometimes acts towards Amy in a lot of the game canon, and I definitely don't like it when Amy's crush on Sonic is warped to frame her as some kind of obsessive weirdo. Sonic and Amy are pretty young in the games, so it makes sense that Sonic wouldn't be interested in romance and that Amy's feelings would be more on the immature side, but I just think the writers take it a little too far sometimes. I can easily picture ShadAmy happening years down the line when Amy is older and has grown out of her crush on Sonic. They'd be really great influences on each other. I haven't read the comics, so can't speak for those, but I do think ShadAmy is brimming with potential in every iteration, and I'd love more canon interactions between them, whether romantic or platonic.
So true. I love SonAmy in Sonic Boom. It's sort of like a look into the future possibly if Sega were to move past the stagnant personally they've given sonic. But yeah I can also picture later in years Amy falling for Shadow after Sonic rejects her one too many times.

This doesn't make any sense to me, Shadow approves and encourages Sonic to take action with Amy in the Twitter Takeover and that is canon. Sonic has already shown that he likes Amy and the IDW producers want to explore both of them. If Shadow supports Sonamy and Sonic loves Amy and Amy loves Sonic, what's the point of Amy being with Shadow??? Japanese Sega makes products about Sonamy. Shadow only sees Amy as a close friend like Rouge. Sega has already canonically said that he doesn't love anyone. I don't want to hate your ship but Shadamy It doesn't make sense. In Sonic Adventure 2 itself, when Sonic supposedly dies, Amy cries and when Shadow supposedly dies, Amy just wants to go to Earth with Sonic. I honestly don't see the reason to separate Amy from Sonic just to include Shadow, Sega itself, which Sonamy is difficult to understand? Naoto Oshima said it would be Sonamy, that's what I mean. Bro, not tryna to be rude, but I can tell you're probably not much into fan ships in general - which is totally fine of course! - because literally none of those reasons matter in the minds of fans like myself who are really into shipping. I know for an absolute fact that ShadAmy will never be canon, most of us do, and we're okay with that. That just means we have all the creative freedom to write it ourselves! We don't always ship things because they "make sense," crack ships exist for a reason. Heck, I have a few ships I enjoy that I would NEVER want to become canon. The point of shipping isn't to "make sense," it's to have fun! And I find ShadAmy to be a very fun ship, that's really all there is to it. It's fun to put your own spin on your favorite characters, to put them in "what if" scenarios and go crazy. No, it may not make sense in canon, and it may be far from what the creators intended, but fans are always going to interpret things in their own way, and that's totally fine. You don't have to agree with it or like it, that's also fine. We can just respectfully disagree and go our own ways to enjoy the franchise however we like.
shadamy has been one of my most favorite ships! i always thought amy would be better off with shadow. sonic is always running off away from amy when she expresses her feelings to him. people say sonic is just too shy to express the same feelings back but i don't know. shadow like you said in the video tolerates amy, and since he is usually quite chill and not very negative towards her i think he would be great with amy. amy gets rejected by sonic too much honestly and he doesn't seem to plan to want to slow down and think about relationships. i still kinda somewhat ship sonamy but i would ship shadamy a whole lot more.

As a Shadouge shipper, I’m here to gain a better understanding of Shadamy. I always felt that Rouge to Shadow has been like Amy is to Sonic. Rouge always being worried about Shadow just like how Amy is constantly worried about Sonic. The girls are like their caretakers and nag them when they get too reckless.
I do see the appeal for Shadamy, but I agree that there’s not enough interactions to elaborate further. Plus it does feel like they’re pushing the Sonamy much more when they stated that romance wasn’t a focus awhile ago.
SEGA is changing and there’s definitely hope to really delve into the interactions with all the supporting characters with not just Sonic, which imo Sonic needs to ride backseat for awhile and let other characters take the wheel.
Definitely agree. I've though about Shadow and Rouge as well, but to me I feel like she can be kind of shallow. Though to be fair I'm not a Rouge expert so if I'm wrong feel free to correct me on it. I do hope that Sega explores other characters more. I know that Sonic is the main character but yeah I wanna see other characters shine. Yes you’re definitely right that Rouge can be shallow at first glance but she’s also a very layered and complex character with more mystery than Shadow. It’s usually with Shadow we get to see her more vulnerable and wholesome side. I always thought they compliment each other very well here as a dynamic and therefore shipped them romantically, though so many ppl “sibling code” them to dismiss the potential of their relationship.
I’m aware a lot of ppl also do that with the Shadamy ship too and also argue that Amy reminds him of Maria like a sister trying to “sibling code” them but it totally dismisses Amy’s authenticity as a character. Shadamy does have a lot of potential and their personalities can possibly balance each other out too, but even in the IDW series it’s so different for them to interact. Maybe one day Amy will broaden her perspective and take off her rose-tinted glasses on Sonic and see more potential-and possible more fitting-suitors. I’m also curious about the Silveramy ship as well but haven’t come across a video examining that one yet.

I'm gonna be honest: Initially, I only shipped Shadow and Amy to give Amy some closure since I already shipped Sonic with Sally in my headcanon. But after thinking about it and seeing various Shadamy fan comics out there, it started making more sense to me than Sonamy. Especially as Amy has matured over the years in the games and otherwise, she's increasingly depicted as someone who wants to make her own mark rather than just being "Sonic's girlfriend."
I don't remember the original creator's name, but there was a fan comic (Shadamy, obviously) that helped put it into perspective for me. In the comic, Amy meets her past and future selves, and at one point, one of the future Amys explains that she and Sonic wanted different things and that she simply couldn't keep up. Whereas with Shadow, by her own confession, he always treated her with respect. Granted, I'm paraphrasing, and this was a fan comic, but it got me thinking about Shadow's perspective.
Our favorite Edgelord has always had a soft side, one that he keeps closed off to anyone and everyone except for a select few individuals. Maria, Sonic, and Amy are among this small circle, but even then, Shadow sees each person differently. Maria was essentially his mother figure, Sonic his rival and brother, and Amy is his moral compass, the light to his darkness, his *shadow.* In a way, Amy took the role that Maria tragically left behind in Shadow's life, but less as a mother and more... on par, if that makes sense.
Well, and then there's the Shadouge shippers, of course. I can already sense them somewhere in the comment section.
Yeah everything you're saying is pretty much what I think. Of course I keep and open mind with both SonAmy and Shadouge, but I know what comic you're talking about I've seen in a few times. There's another one where she's thinking about her past and how she wanted a fairytale romance. but she realized she needed to focus on herself more and in the end she wakes up with shadow next to her and their kid sleeping on top of her. Both are really good explanations to ShadAmy.

i'm a fan of shadamy because i never really liked sonamy, for me sonic is someone free (andalsoalittlegay) so i never really had a taste for that ship, but with shadamy i super fell in love with the dynamics and i look for even the smallest thing to feed my delulu, like the scene of both in Sonic dream team, the funko package of shadow and amy, that the color palette of both are almost the same and they are very complementary, that in sonic and the black knight, shadow is lancelot and amy is Nimue, not to mention the interaction in the murder of sonic the hedgehog, etc etc I could continue yapping about this, but it's that I really have an appreciation for the ship, anyway ... I liked this video hehe

Lets be fr, the best canon ship is Sonamy and the best fanon ship is Shadamy imo
I don't care about shipping overall, but I have a certain problem with this ship in specific. Amy and Shadow have technically never interacted.
And your first reaction to that is "What do you mean? Of course they did. It was a major plot point in SA2." And yes, but no at the same time. The Shadow after SA2 is not exactly the same Shadow that went through the events of SA2, since, well, he had amnesia. And you could say that he regained all of his memories, but Shadow '05 never makes it clear how many memories did Shadow regain, and in the ending he literally says "Adiós, Shadow The Hedgehog" as a way to say he is not the person that went through all of his past. And of course, he helped Amy find Cream in Shadow '05, but I don't know if that mission in specific actually happens in the True Ending route.
And then there is TMOSTH, but I personally don't really count TMOSTH as that game portrays Shadow in a very weird way overall. Since Shadow never actually interacted with Amy, there would be little to no incentive for him to participate the party and much less give Amy a present.
And about what Amy says at the end of Shadow '05:
A. I don't know if that line exists in the japanese script.
B. She could be referring to the fact that Shadow is the second strongest character in the cast, so...
@Kelps.mp4 You're correct. It isn't cannon, and it shouldn't be. However, there's also other media involved, like the Twitter takeovers, where they have a lot of interactions together(but I'm not sure if these are cannon), and there's also the non cannonical Archie Comics, where they have interactionsin the Sonic Universe Comics, and those were written by Ian Flynn. You don't have to like the ship, but they have interactions in some media, like the ones i listed. Also, Shadow 05 is the biggest example of how this ship should be portrayed, as something "possible", an different timeline, mind you, because if you go full dark until you meet Amy and then go hero, in the game's library sequences, the path will be registered as "Miracle of Love" which is something very interesting. So, yeah, it isn't cannon. It shouldn't be cannon, but i think the whole Shadamy community just likes to think, "What if it was? How would it be?" and make their fan media out of it, which can turn to be very good or very bad. And, of course, you don't have to like it, like what you want to like. But i and some other people like it, and we like to dream about it, and that's fine too.
Also, I just remembered, in the japanese version, Amy says something among the lines of "don't worry. After all, he's Immortal" in the Last Story cutscene in Shadow 05. So yeah, this one line actually isn't a Shadamy proof originally.

So, perhaps I didn't get this message across well enough in my video, but the "proof" I'm showing is that ShadAmy isn't completely coming from thin air. Whether Shadow really remembers the whole thing with Amy after his memory loss or not isn't too much of a concern to me. (Also I didn't know about the Japanese version of Shadow 05, so thanks for telling me.) My main point is that for such little screentime, the few interactions these two characters have is significantly more interesting then most of what Sonic and Amy have. Frontiers is the exception to this, which I am happy about honestly because I don't have anything against SonAmy. I think both ships can be great. Like Daniel said it's really just a "what if" because I do find grumpy x sunshine tropes really cute. But either way I'm glad that you took the time to watch my video and comment.😊

Before you read my comment, I make it clear from now on that my intention is NOT to tell you to stop shipping Shadamy or that it is a bad ship, nor to think like me or feel that it is an attack. I am aware that the shipping community in general is very problematic.
Honestly, I find it absurd to want to make it seem that Shadamy has more potential than SonAmy, based on crumbs of interaction that could barely be considered a friendship in Construction. What I see is that they are idealizing Shadow's character, being more of a "husband" than Sonic, and they are inserting themselves into Amy because they don't want to make one of those OCs that are so abundant. Headcanons aren't bad, I'm sure most of us have them and enjoy them, but again, is the hypothetical "what if" of what we've been shown over the years enough of an argument Above the canon?
The ship is another cliché of an introverted/serious boy with a sunflower girl, it is a super common trope in Shoujos so it is understandable why it is liked.
I also find it hypocritical that they deny any romantic interaction between Shadow and Maria, but use as an argument that Shadamy is pretty because Amy reminds him of Maria xd
Oh the fact when Sonally was booming and they used Shadamy as the wild card to make Amy happy.
I also find it extremely sad how SEGA AMERICA ruined the dynamic of SonAmy and the character of Amy, causing many people to misinterpret the character and the her story. Just reading the comments about Amy being obsessed or Sonic treating her badly or not reciprocating her romantic feelings gives me an idea of the damage they did.
I respect your video and everyone's opinions, shipping is fun, I also have my crack ships in the saga, but if you are going to argue about possibility or potential, from one ship over another, the ideal is to base it on the Lore and canonical interactions, not headcanons or "what ifs".
I also don't think it's correct to say that "Shadow deserves Amy", because love isn't a matter of deserving as if people were objects.
Again, it's perfectly fine to like the ship, it has some great fan art and fan fiction, but it's far from having the potential to be canon, considering the characters' true feelings.

But I also wanted to maybe expound on my thoughts a little since I'm not totally in line with everything every other commenter is saying.
I think that both Sonic and Shadow could be "husband material" further down the line. It just requires time and maybe a little maturity.
Additionally(And I suppose I didn't make this clear enough in my video) I do support SonAmy. I also think that logically ShadAmy will never happen.
For me personally, (if we exclude shows, comics, and the twitter takeover stuff) I don't think Amy is necessarily wrong in the way she goes about her love for sonic. Maybe asking him to marry her is a little much but I don't thinks she's crazy obsessed. If that were the case she would never let up and just constantly be on him, which isn't the case. I do think Sonic is a little...rude at times. I get it, he doesn't want to be kissed but does he have to shove her away by the face?😂
Also, I do casually ship Maria and Shadow. I just find it a little strange that it would be between a human and a humanoid hedgehog. I love fan art where both Shadow and Maria are human, or both are hedgehogs. I love it and if either of those options were true, I'd be a Maria and Shadow shipper all the way.
I do also think that things are shifting. Especially after Sonic Frontiers where Sonic and Amy have a lot more sweet interactions. So if Sega continues in the direction they're going, then I'll definitely have to retract my statement that ShadAmy has more potential since...well it just won't be true anymore. But until then I stand by my statement since, I just think that if people want to adamantly say that SonAmy is canon (Which I don't say is the case with ShadAmy within my video by the way) They need to have more solid proof then what they're saying. Because Canon and Potential are two very different words.

It's strange that you like Shadaria, lately we've been hunted like witches for the mistake SEGA America made by putting them as "siblings" in the release of Sonic x Shadow Generation, when in the Japanese canon, their relationship is quite ambiguous and open to interpretation, leaning a little more romantic than platonic if you close your eyes, and because Shadow/Maria and their story in the ARK based on a Shoujo manga from the 80s called "Please Safe my Earth".
I honestly don't like Shadamy (I like their dynamics in other ships not Sonic's saga), because I've been in this fandom for years, and I've had bad experiences with them, even when at some point I forced myself to like them.
From Sonic Generation to Sonic Forces, it was pure American writing with Ken Pontac, that's why it's clear that they don't understand the characters or their dynamics. Not only Amy was affected by this "experimental dark age", then for Frontiers and the SXSG DLC, although it is still American writing, the difference is that IAN Flyn was a writer for Archie and IDW until now, and at least he tries not to make those mistakes or fix the damage they did.

Personally I'm more of a Shadouge shipper, they have high respect for each other, and Amy doesn't really have a lot of interaction with shadow, i find weird that people ship the two, with such little chemistry.
I think you're right on the front that Shadow and Rouge have had more screen time together, but to me Rouge seems like the total opposite of the kind of personality Shadow would go for. @MediaMisfit-06 and that's a okay, I'm not one to judge Sonic ships, I mean I do take pride in my shipping category, but I respect people's ship's, as long as their not gay, when I was young, and played sonic adventures 2, my brothers would always tease me with Sonic and Shadow being gay, and I have autism, and something about made me feel, really weird, like depressed and something else, I just didn't like the feeling, so I made a shipping category, and gave every sonic character a ship, so it's why I have such strong passion for shipping Sonic characters.
Yeah no...I don't really do gay ships unless it's just a joke. I usually don't go out of my way to ship characters in general . I think Sonic is one of the few franchises where I've really given it any thought. So... there's also that.😄

Personaly i like this ship but I always think of them like Jean grey and wolverine in x-men. The dark lonely héroe with a dark past that falls for the empathetic girl of the grup that help him overcome his past but isn’t ment to be because despiste the fact that she loves him she already made his choice but for the guy the’re always hope. Like Logan said in X-men’97 you are Jean grey and he is Scott Sumemers those are the rules.

I LOVE shadamy sm they're my favorite Sonic ship tbh. Because there's sm potential! If only SEGA could let them interact more because they are such a cute duo. In the Olympic Games, Shadow only smiles when he is ice skating with Amy as far as I know. And in Sonic Racing Amy and Shadow interact a lot and Shadow is always soft towards her. He kind of flirts with her in that game a little. And he always takes it easy on Amy. I love this ship and I just hope Sonic 4 will at least have a cute little interaction between the 2, maybe make Shadow get a little flustered. BUT I LOVE THIS SHIP RAHHHHH
Oh my gosh yes they really should have at least a nod to the ship. No doubt they're gonna go with SonAmy for Sonic 4, but even just a small interaction between Amy and Shadow would make me happy. Also interesting, I didn't notice the smile thing with shadow and the Olympic games. Huh. Cool info.👍
@ Exactly I know that I would at least want them to maybe add how they first met in SA2 with Amy hugging him mistaking him for Sonic in the movie. And you can see that Shadow gets a little flustered or even just let them fight together LIKE PLS PARAMOUNT I NEED AT LEAST A TINY CRUMB OF SHADAMY 😭

Um...I think I understood most of what you said?😅 Yeah it's still totally within the realm of possibility that Sonic and Amy end up together. And true Amy is nice with everyone pretty much. So her being nice to Shadow isn't all that strange. I'm not very well versed in the Twitter takeovers and I didn't know if they were canon either, so that's why I didn't take it into account for this video.

And I know Maria is a human and Shadow is a hedgehog that they can't go to a romantic relationship, which I get that. But Shadow cares more for Maria than Amy and Rouge. But to think ShadAmy is better than SonAmy that is a no-no. I know we'll see some SonAmy parts in Sonic Movie 4, because SonAmy is a popular ship to the Sonic Franchise. If you remember one time, there is a page of a magazine showing about Sonic's feelings about Amy, he does have feelings for her but it's just he is nervous to say it. You're not convincing me to think ShadAmy is a better ship than SonAmy, I would fully disagree on that.
@jozenkai12 I think the point is not that it's better. I know that Sonamy is a ship that's more recognized by sega, and it has way more materials supporting it. But Shadamy, even though that there's little information, it has a lot of potential, given how the feel interactions between them, and if sega settled down and worked on developing it, it could be an interesting story. But i like to think of it as more of an alternate reality, not cannon, since it is just too cruel for Shadow to fall in love since he's immortal and is going to outlive his partner. I personally enjoy Shadamy more than Sonamy, but cannonically speaking, Sonamy has more proof to back it up, and it makes more sense within the established universe.

And with how much interaction Amy and Shadow have had I'm not saying that at this moment in time these two characters have romantic feelings for each other. And the ONLY reason why I think ShadAmy is better than SonAmy is not because I'm biased or think the SonAmy ship is bad. (I originally was a SonAmy shipper) I just think that Sonic lacks any sort of emotional story within the games themselves. Yes you can mention the Twitter Takeovers, yes you can mention a page of a magazine, but I want Sega to put something definitive into the games to actually back SonAmy up for once instead of just saying that's the true ship. And these creators aren't above putting romance into their games because they had that weird romance happen between Elise and Sonic in 06. Their saving grace in this department are the movies. Which I am 99% sure they will put a least a scene of SonAmy in there. It would be ridiculous not to.
